“We found this place on our way to Raleigh, NC from Chicago. Stopped here after reading reviews online. TRUST THE REVIEWS that say this place is good...IT IS GOOD! We just moved to the Chicago area from South Texas, so we know good Mexican food and this place does not disappoint! If you are anywhere near Gary Indiana, you have to stop in to Chela's. It's not fancy at all, but is very clean and the prices are good. We had the Birria Tacos, chips and salsa and several different meat tacos. Then, on our way back from North Carolina, we stopped in again! My fiance thinks this is the best Mexican food outside of Texas. THAT'S saying something! We can't wait to go back!“

“I got the taco dinner and the nacho fries. First, the size of the taco dinner is actually really good for the price. I got double rice and no beans because I’m not a fan of refried beans. The nacho fries were HEFTY. I picked up the container and HOLY MOLY! It was A LOT of food! Definitely a great price! Will be ordering again!“

“They use to be my go to but since the owner doesn't be there anymore they be messing up. I've asked to speak with the owner for 2 different occasions and never got a call back. I've been rocking with them since they were on US 30. I always spend over $20 anytime I go there but when my oder is messed up I NEVER receive any accommodation. How do I order staek and shrimp fajitas but get home and dont have shrimp and I was told the only thing she could do was not charge me for shrimp next time I make a purchase or I could come get the shrimp that THEY forgot to put on my food. “Went here to give it a go for the first time and it did not disappoint! Ordered the chicken burrito for myself and my boyfriend got the steak burrito. Both were delicious and flavorful, as well as PACKED as you can see from the photos- they’re big burritos! Fair pricing for the amount of food you get. We will be back to try other items on the menu for sure. The girl at the register who also took my orders was very nice as well !“

“I love this place. They have multiple locations; I used to live just a couple miles from the Dyer spot, but since I've moved an hour away, I still come back a couple times a year for the food, and it's the same no matter which location you visit.
I highly recommend the chicken quesadillas with a side of rice (my favorite!) or the steak sopes. Truly exceptional Mexican fare for a very reasonable price!“
