I took my significant other to dinner here for her birthday, and we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was excellent, and the service was very timely. Everything was priced at something that I would describe as “student friendly.” We both got up so I could show my partner where the restroom was. What a find! Visited the restaurant today with a group (12 of us). We did pre-order our appetizers and entrees.
The venue was lovely. Great views from the penthouse of downtown. Formal table settings. We each had our own place card (since we pre-ordered. I don't know if that is required). Tamika our table host did a nice job welcoming our party and providing beverages. Courses restaurant is part of Ivy Tech's culinary and hospitality program. Students perform all functions in the preparation and serving of the food. It is a white table cloth experience on the penthouse level of the conference center. The food is always delicious and often a new offering. Sometimes service is a bit slow or clumsy, but the students are learning. I've enjoyed many memorable lunches at Courses.

Courses Restaurant, located on the top floor of the Ivy Tech campus, offers a pleasant dining experience with stunning views of the city. The venue is nice, and the food is great, showcasing the talents of culinary and hospitality students who practice their skills here. The menu features dishes such as shrimp and grits, which are amazing, flavorful, and light, and the Churrasco beef served with black beans and charred veggies, which harmonizes well when all components are combined. Though the Trumpet Mushroom Scallops may not be entirely as expected, they are still delicious.
Guests can enjoy a three-course meal for $20, with options to add beer, wine, or a cocktail for a little extra. The student waitstaff is enthusiastic and willing to cater to every need, though service can sometimes be a bit slow due to training. The French cuisine is beautifully prepared, with dishes like Coq au Vin, salmon Rillette, and poached fish with Beurre Blanc. The ambiance is elegantly quiet, making it a lovely place to dine. While the dessert options may be limited, the opera cake is a highlight, and culinary students do a great job with it.
The dining experience is enjoyable, and many guests plan to return, eager to explore new menu items. Overall, Courses Restaurant is a wonderful opportunity for students and offers great value for a delightful meal. Guests are advised to bring a coat or sweater, as it can be chilly in the penthouse space.
