“Great Surprise!! I've driven past this little dive so many times but we couldn't find parking at another location and saw how busy it was and decided to give it a try! It was wonderful!! The place was full of happy people, a piano player filled the space. The waitress was friendly and service was fast! Best potato soup I've ever had! Everything was very affordable and we can't wait to go back!“

Chatterbox Jazz Club Dive Bar • $
435 Massachusetts Ave, Indianapolis

“I stopped in Indianapolis for a day since had never visited before and as I was making my way down Massachusetts Ave (heading back to my car) - I noticed a large mural with a plaque which told the story of Etheridge Knight and towards the bottom it mentioned he frequented “the Chatterbox” and..Hey wait! That’s literally the THIS BUILDING! Yes!Went in, the place is awesome!! Great beer, great food and overall fantastic menu! The server Emery is absolutely amazing and we had a great conversation about the Chatterbox, Jazz Musix and No Wave Jazz like Lydia Lunch, James Chance (No New York stuff) and it was just and overall awesome experience to visit, have a beer and a great chat!I’ll be returning at some point for some live jazz when I have more time. But one thing I will say.. The artwork plastered all over the walls in this place speaks beyond volumes.. It’s like the CBGBs of Jazz in Indianapolis! That’s the vibe I get ?“

“I’m going to be as fair and as honest as possible with this review. I’ve heard from multiple people to try this place because of the stew, so I did today for the first time. 1 stew topped cheeseburger and 1 stew topped Tenderloin and my bill was $32.09. No sides, no drinks, and no bread supplied with the tenderloin. Just meat in a pizza box and a container of stew. Now, with that being said, the tenderloin was very good, the stew was very good, and the burger was nothing special. But when I carry out a tenderloin, a burger, and a small container of stew, for my money, there is better out there. I’m not trashing the business at all. Their food is pretty good, but I can’t justify spending 32$ on 2 sandwiches. If I had a recommendation to offer, it would be a little more bang for your buck. For example, an 8oz steak, 2 sides, salad and drink at Texas Roadhouse is $14.99…a tenderloin with stew on it with no bun, no sides, no drink and no fixings at your establishment is more. If I come back again in the future, I’ll probably just stick to your namesake.“

“Connor's is a cultural experience and a rite of passage for Broad Ripple Village patrons! Really cold beer, not to mention PBR on tap, and quick, refreshing drinks, the back alley location and back open air deck have seen many of luminaries come and go! (Rumor is that a young Rookie Colts Punter from West Virginia might have been over-served here before his famous Canal dive! But I wasn't there, at least That time!). Typical bar food is surprisingly good and served late, so it serves well to offset excess alcohol consumed early in the evening. Many a brain cell has been willing pruned at Connor's. Probably as authentic a BRV legacy as the Alley Cat! Definitely incredible people watching as typical nights wear out to early morning! Special call out for holiday break home trips and college visits back home!“

“Dugout has long been on my list of bars to try but I never got the opportunity to until this Friday while trying to post up for the Purdue game. Drink specials are phenomenal, $9 pitchers of either Yuengling or Miller Lite is a steal. The bar food is pretty decent as well so if you get hungry I recommend the pizza as it too is reasonably priced. Overall this is a top spot to watch sports, no shortage of tvs and room to post up. Obviously you don't want to show up too close to tipoff because it will be standing room only.“

“The food was great. A bit loud and rowdy for my taste though. Only reason for 4 stars is that 2 of us ordered fries but got tots. Then, no one in our party of 9 was charged correctly, I was charged for my friends meal, he was charged for mine etc.“
