“October 24, 2024 update:
Still my #1 goto restaurant in NorthEast Fort Wayne. My wife had a smoked Salmon sandwich with avacado... OMG!
I had my usual blackened Catfish with jalapeno tarter sauce. To die for! Well, maybe the Salmon was a bit better, but can't argue (I'll get slapped).

This restaurant is a good place to go for good food. Not the best atmosphere, but the food is great and service is very good. It is our first pick for an evening meal.

Thanks, everyone! Just left after a great meal. Service was exceptional. Thank you to the guys and gals at the bar where we ate.

“I read all the Five Star reviews and thought to myself that this place can’t be as good as everyone is saying. Boy was I wrong!!

Started with extremely friendly staff that welcomed us and then walked us through the menu, since it was our first time here.

Forget Texas. I don’t need to go there for BBQ. I think this was beyond a doubt the absolute best brisket I have ever devoured.

The brisket price was very reasonable and the amount of food was overwhelming.

We can make another meal out of the leftovers.

If you have the opportunity, you must go.

“My wife & I agree that we believe their oriental chicken salad is the best salad in town. A bunch of different ingredients and awesome! Their onion rings are also my favorite. A very friendly place and clearly a skilled chef.“

“Visited Sun Rise Cafe this morning and it was very good. I was tipped off because they catered an event at my company this week and I really loved the skillets. At the catered event I tried the Country Skillet and The Meat Lovers Skillet. Both were amazing. I'm usually not a fan of the hash browns or potatoes in these skillets but the flavoring in these two were absolutely worth it.

I took the opportunity to visit the restaurant as well and the skillet sizes are reasonable and the ratio of toppings to potato is skewed toward the toppings. I like the fact that the skillets are not swimming and potatoes. I had the breakfast sandwich which I'm not sure is on the menu but they were able to make it for me. I ordered it on an English muffin with sausage and ham, two eggs which I chose to have over hard instead of scrambled, and I chose cheddar cheese. The meat on the sandwich was very flavorful and the grilled English muffin was an excellent choice. I highly recommend any of these dishes for an amazing breakfast.“

“I’ve been going here for years and i’ve never had a complaint for the brown house. staff is always great and food is always fresh. I understand every other fast food is doing the tip thing now, it’s nice to get tips. But i feel peer pressured to tip when you go from handing me a device and asking versus a teenager looking me in the face and asking me if i’d like to tip today. It’s not that i don’t have the money and or appreciate the service. It’s that many people like me have high anxiety and won’t be able to say no to that. I did end up tipping, that i did not want to do. I feel like the device is a much better option to ask for a tip.“

Not a huge serving but enough to be satisfied. Beer choices Drunkun Punkun -- really good I thought def Pumpkin flavor, minimal on bourbon barrel taste...which is preferred by me. “We went for an early dinner on Monday. They were not busy, but it was 4:30. We ordered fried mushrooms to share. They were hot and delicious. I ordered ham and bean soup and the tenderloin dinner with mashed potatoes and corn (the vegetable of the day). My mom ordered the clam strip basket with French fries. Both of us were very happy with our food. It came out hot and tasty. The only thing we didn't like was that the mushrooms and soup came out with the food. It would have been better if they came out first. Second thing was, the corn was not good. It tasted like it had been cooking since breakfast. Next time I will avoid the corn. Service was quick and attentive. It's a bit more pricey than I expected, but it's good enough to go back again.“
