Starbucks in Michigan City

“I stopped at the Starbucks in Michigan City recently, was what what I noticed:

The store was absolutely packed. Cars just kept coming through the drive-thru, yet the energy inside never felt chaotic. It felt focused, positive, and supportive.

The woman who appeared to be the team leader or manager was constantly encouraging her team, celebrating their successes, and calling out performance numbers that I didn’t understand, but it was obvious they were motivating and reinforcing how well everyone was doing. She wasn’t standing on the sidelines. She was right there in the trenches, working alongside her team while keeping everyone motivated and moving toward the same goal: taking great care of the customer.

As someone who values strong leadership, I actually found myself lingering after I got my order just to watch. That’s how impressed I was.

If she’s not officially the team leader by title, she certainly is by her demeanor. Leadership isn’t just a position, it’s how you inspire the people around you. Today, she set the standard.“

“I was having such a bad day having someone just using and screaming at me at home. I stopped at this Starbucks on Broadway in Crown Point on my way to take care of my sick mom and the drive thru employee was really sweet. Apparently someone decided against a Danish and she offered it to me. Just the gesture alone touched me me so deeply. They're always nice here. Always. But this made my day and I don't think she knew how much she affected me. I just wanted to say thank you. This is my favorite Starbucks ever.

The drinks are always so good and satisfactory. Atmosphere is always great. Employees are the best.“
