“Doug was patient, cordial, very attentive. My mom, 96, has not been out for a meal in 5 yrs. Doug made this a pleasant experience for the 4 of us. “I had a catered event on October 2nd. The food was excellent!! Especially the Italian beef and Mac and cheese. Went to drop off stuff snd decided to have lunch since we were there. The Reuben was to die for!! As was the beef sandwich. We also loved the fries. Thank you Jim for making the food for our 30th anniversary party . “Went in not too long ago on a Saturday for lunch, from the time we walked in, The owners greeted us with a smile and were very personable, which is a lost art these days, so we were very comfortable from the get go, at that time we had multiple questions about the menu and AGAIN the owners explained every question we had in detail with no fluff, I ordered Italian Wedding Soup which is the BEST I’ve ever eaten, and finished with The Mostro… Great big portions and the food itself was amazing, we finished with desert and when we got the bill… again we was pleasantly surprised… I recommend to the highest powers that be that Ammirato’s Meatball Cafe is a hidden Gem and will definitely return for a different item on the menu“

“Driving on route 30 in Indiana we saw State line Pizza. We decided to go in and to my surprise a nice low key pizza spot. Suzanne our waitress paid attention my order i don't eat meat. I had ordered A Ceasars salad, no idea that Ceasar salad had anchovie paste in the dressing. Suzanne informed me of my options. We also ordered the veggie thin crust pizza, well done the crust was nice and crispy just the way we like it , and the half basket appetizer which was good too and more than enough for two. This State line Pizza gets a double thumbs up.“

“Leaving Chicago and we wanted a nice little family pizza place. This was the place and boy was it worth it. Pizza was excellent and the cheesy breadsticks oh my so good. The young lady taking the orders was very nice and polite and super friendly. Sauce was good and for a thing crust which my husband normally does not like he was impressed and loved the pizza. If we didnt live almost 2 hours away in Indiana we would be there more often. And next time we are going thru Chicago /east Chicago area we are going to stop again. So worth it.

“The food here is delicious! The menu is huge. If you’re wanting something a little lighter you can opt for a yummy chicken chop salad. We ended up getting the Italian beef and the Ruben. Both are excellent. The Ruben is the best Ruben I have ever eaten in my entire life hands-down you must get! We also had a vanilla shake and the large sizes are ginormous . The food servings are very generous, everything is very shareable. They even have an area where you can grab a beer if you’d like. The restaurant has a large sitting area and there is a covered back patio. Service is excellent and the restaurant very clean. A great place to stop!“

“This place is going downhill fast. I emailed Aurelios in Schererville about an experience 3 wks ago they NEVER got back to me.... we take my mom here every time we visit her. We've had issues yesterday 5.12.24 and the time before as well. I complained about getting the cookie my mom loves because it was brought to the table and was entirely melted ice cream and whip cream so melted you could pour it like water. Yesterday the pizza was entirely burnt and so hard . If they do something wrong and you complain about it believe you will pay for it if you return. This was our pizza yesterday that we asked them to cut in squares. Happy Mother's day to us.“
