“Family run place, good food, generous portions and not super expensive. I eat here at least once a week usually, never had a bad meal here and the staff, employees and owners are super friendly and nice. It's one of those locally owned neighborhood joints where everybody pretty much knows everybody and you're bound to run into one of your friends there when you go.“

“The server we had was very attentive and made sure we were comfortable and content throughout our visit. The food was also very good but my steak was not cooked to the temp I had asked for and the kitchen had forgot to add the shrimp and toppings (bourbon street steak and shrimp). I ended up getting the shrimp and sauce but never received the mushrooms and onion that it was supposed to have. I would advise anyone visiting this place to double check your food once it is served. Other than that our visit was overall a pleasant one. I would return just for the attentive service!“

“On my way home saw the The Soul Food Shack sign. So I stopped in. Very clean professional looking establishment. A very friendly young lady came out to inquire how could she help. So very pleasant. I ordered the Smothered pork chops with collard greens and fried potatoes. Husband and I surely enjoyed this meal. Chops and greens were on point. Potatoes had a great flavor but just a little mushy. Whatever I was truly impressed.“

“We made our only visit to this location while passing through Indy on our way back to Ohio. It seemed like a safe area stop in a city unfamiliar to us. The ladies restroom was very clean, as well as the store in general. The drink/condiment station was fully stocked the entire visit too. It was busy during their dinner rush on a Thursday evening, but there was just a short line when we arrived and our order was still taken immediately. The wait for the meals was ~5-10 mins and they delivered everything to us at the table. Our order had a couple customized items and all were accurate. Food was hot, fresh, and very tasty. Very pleasant experience overall. We would definitely revisit if ever in that area again.“

“We just had the pleasure of dining for the first time tonight on out traces back East. We had Chicken Picatta, all I can say is amazing! The natural herb seasoning was incredible, the mashed potato’s superb, cooked perfectly, ! Until we pass this way again ! Awesome !“
