“This was my first visit to the Lemon Drop in Anderson. They were packed at 12:30 & several were waiting for a table. I sat at the counter and enjoyed the conversation of my fellow diner because he was funny. “Wanted to go there after seeing all the reviews. Went there not realizing that it wasn't open till 5pm. We were there about 1:00pm. My wife was standing outside and knocked on the door and the owner said that they don't open till 5pm. He said that he could make us something... He let us in, and the food was GREAT!! He opened early for us because we drove from Anderson just to come here. His whole attitude was welcoming and inviting, and he was glad to have us here.

Parking: Parking is kinda scarce but not their fault. Worth the short walk.“

“Was there yesterday. I was a little sad that the decor had changed, but it is still a homey, country feeling. I recognized one of the staff as being one of our prior waiters. Super friendly guy. Our waitress was very friendly. Our food was so good. The chicken and dumplings are perfection. BISCUITS! “Today was my first visit. I was very impressed with the cleanliness, the service, and the quality of the food! And the pricing! I had a western omelette and pancakes with hashbrowns, and everything came out perfectly. I asked for the hashbrowns to be extra crispy, and they were! I asked for extra butter, and it arrived with the pancakes. My wife and I were short on time, and were in and out of the restaurant within 40 minutes! On a Sunday! I highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast.“

“Found the restaurant on the Indiana State Parks app. We stopped in after earning a state park pin at Mounds. The view is amazing and the food is even better! We recommend the Piggie Plate. It’s a hearty tenderloin on fries smothered in their award winning gravy. Come hungry the portions are man-sized.“

“if you like the Edinburgh brand of tenderloin pounded with an inch of its life with a two to one breading to pork ratio this is a five-star tenderloin. if you actually prefer to taste the pork then it's a four-star tenderloin still good and nicely seasoned. the grillef tenderloin was also handmade nicely seasoned bit on the dry side. I preferred the grilled my wife preferred the breaded. my mom got a Reuben which she enjoyed. a side of fresh fruit that was fresh not canned. fries are coated with something, flour? I don't know what. I don't like those but they were crispy“

“It was overpriced hospital food, not hot!! I ordered the Pot Roast with potatoes & carrots, it was warm with a brown gravy that was overly salty. There was no potatoes & carrots. I ordered Mac n Cheese as a side, it was warm and gross. The 2nd side of greenbeans w/bacon was also warm but tasted the best of the whole plate! If I had known there was no potatoes & carrots as the menu says I would have ordered mashed as a side. The waiter who seated us wanted an answer about our drinks immediately as he rudely hovered over and wouldn’t let us look at the menu. It took a decade to get our bill and pay. I won’t go back!“

“After 6pm on a Saturday night, was particularly busy. We were able to find parking, there was likely 3 spots other than ours open. Was told there would be at least a 15min wait time. The greeter and table management lady had mentioned that they were short staffed by 2 call offs and how they also had some new crew members that weren't capable with catering to a large amount of people and that along with timing of food to be cooked and brought out contributed to the wait time.

They said that if we'd like we could wait at the bar. Being adults we opted for seating at the bar. We usually all sit at a table, but it was just us two tonight. We were actually served rather swiftly, so don't know what the fuss was all about. Maybe she was the one who was new? The food was hot and served fresh, and the drinks were great too. They were running a $1 drink special for Halloween. We had a great time.

Kid-friendliness: Been here several times before and our children enjoy it.

Wheelchair accessibility: Accessable incline without curbs to enter through by wheelchair, but having to push two seperate sets of doors to enter would suck for this as they swing open when people come and go. It is also a rather narrow space, with everyone typically holding at least one of the sets of doors for another while entering or leaving for what seems like forever (we are all just so darn polite). So it is not automatic to the best of my knowledge. I'm not handicapped though either.“
