“Great place to see a band. The restaurant and bar sides are separate. They seem to get a lot of repeat customers. A lot of people seem to eat on either side. The owners also do community events for charity. Also non smoking making for a better atmosphere.“

“This place was great. They made us feel like family and the food was fantastic. We got the chicken satay and crispy spring rolls and each came with homemade sauces that were delicious. The thai tea was one of the best I have ever had and the sushi (calumet roll, spicy tuna and the white dragon roll) was fresh. We ordered three rolls and it was served on a sushi boat which was a fun touch for my kids. The shrimp in the drunken noodles were huge and the dish was flavorful and authentic. We will definitely make a return visit.“

“We had a 50th Anniversary celebration here 5-4-24. We cannot say enough about how wonderful this restaurant is. The staff is exceptional, the room was beautiful, the food was delicious, every plate a picture that tasted as good as it looked. Everything was served at the same time and hot. From our fist inquiring to the last guest leaving they treated us like royalty and everyone felt very special. We can't thank them enough! We will be back!“

“It looks like Hunter's doesn't need another five-star review but here goes... I enjoyed my first visit there a few days ago. The rauchbier (smoked beer) was excellent and a rare find, and the red ale, kolsch and lager were good as well. There are many others I haven't tried yet. Bill knows his beer and he pays attention to his guests which is becoming less and less common in a world of corporate microbreweries where your server often doesn't even drink beer and doesn't know a thing about it. The flatbread pizza was just what I needed to go with my drink, and the live entertainment from Beth Niemann went well with both. And they played Cheers on the TV rather than the usual sports. I'd rather look at Shelly Long than at a bunch of guys running around in helmets. I'm glad I chose to stay in Chesterton and visit Hunter's for my beer, and I'll be back.“

“I tell you what. I've been all over the region and hands down, Brown Bag has the BEST biscuits and gravy as well as their HUGE breakfast croissant sandwiches! The staff is always so pleasant and it is a small family business catering to the community in Burns Harbor as well as all the Steel Mill employees (me) and the truckers passing through... they all know where to stop!! “Came here at the recommendation of a good friend was definitely not disappointed. Its a smaller establishment so that was tough to deal with as far as anxiety goes, but we didnt have to wair long to be seated! Dexter aka Spicy White Tuna Roll was our server and he was efficient, friendly, and hilarious! I tried the Dragon Egg (what a masterpiece!) as well as the Autumn Lemon Roll (I LOVE lemon and was quite pleased). You get what you pay for here but it was an awesome sushi time!“

“It was our first time visiting here, while traveling through Indiana. And it was quite enjoyable. Milkshakes are 2 bucks on Mondays and who could pass that deal up? I had the chocolate peanut butter and it was so good. My husband had the mint chip which he really enjoyed as well. The burgers are big and the fries are delicious! Also, the Irish nachos are my fave! Hospitality was on point! Such lovely people working there. And it's a fun, 60's type atmosphere. Try it! You won't be disappointed.“

“1st time here, so kinda limited in what we tried from the menu. Great pizza! The crust is a bit crunchy, but soft inside. Wonderful!! The toppings were nice and fresh and plentiful. A good amount of cheese on the pizza too. Not skimpy, but not overwhelming either, just right.Also tried the Spinach Galette, which was awesome!!! and the onion rings are good, but the onions themselves (inside the onion rings) were a bit tough to bite through. Good flavor and crunch on the breading though.2 kinds of Italian sausage ( 1 mild, the other slightly spicy), but with big containers of crushed red pepper on the table, a bit more heat is never TOO far away!Vegetarian options: Like most pizza joints, options for vegetarians are plentiful!!!!!“

“I never wanted to post a review on this place because I feel like it's a well-hidden gem in Valparaiso just off Calumet Ave. But I love the place so much that I've decided to share the secret. This is our go-to Pizzeria for Family Pizza Night. My very picky-eating daughters love this place for the mozzarella sticks, cheese pizza, and the fun, inexpensive toy machines that they have. We always order their wings because they are always served hot and crispy, as good wings are. The food never disappoints and we always leave stuffed and with leftovers to spare. The staff is always friendly and polite. They're always working and aiming to please. This place has excellent customer service and delicious food for a great price. We were seated outside and realized it would be too loud with the traffic, train and people seated on either side of us so asked to be re-seated inside. “We've been meaning to try Cinco de Mayo. It looks nice from the outside and did not disappoint. The veggie burrito was delicious, but I wish you could have ordered just the burrito. The veggie is only available as a dinner option with rice and beans. Regardless, I really enjoyed it! My kids really liked their beef soft tacos and the veggie fajitas were a hit with our oldest daughter. Thumbs up around the table for Cinco de Mayo.
