“I've been working a project in Michigan City for a few months now. The true home cooking of the food at the Sugar Bowl is amazing. So far I've ate the food atleast 7 times. All 7 times have been awesome. Great food, great service. This is a must try for true home cooked food.“
“This small place off calumet, or old 49, depending on how you remember Valpo, is a gem. It’s really small, so make reservations. The size also means it gets a little loud when it fills up, which it will. The menu is limited, changes weekly, and is delicious. I had a tasty salad and my wife kicked off with a soup she really liked (I can’t remember what she had). Then the main course came. I should point out that they have a butcher shop where you can Wagyu steak by the ounce, but it was $24 an ounce. Unless I could actually speak to the Wagyu cow and discuss Japanese Bovine American relations, it was just too steep for that evening. I did get the non-Wagyu filet, and it was cooked to perfection. The potatoes were good too. My bride got the Mahi Mahi, not usually a fish person, and she loved it. We will be going back. I should mention that the service was great. There is Joi Di Vie amongst the staff and it makes The Bait Shop a fun place to go.“
“Excellent time, like every time. This place is a staple in restaurants I suggest. It's exactly how I remember as a kid, food wise that is... the atmosphere used to be more 50s nostalgia with juke boxes vending in each booth! Regarding the food, we all ordered your typical round of burgers and shared a side of Irish nachos, which are loaded cheese fries, topped with your choice we have bacon and green onion and smother it under ranch.I drink a cherry coke, that they put a cherry syrup in. Grandma got a green river, that reminds me of a lime ice popsicle in the plastic sleeve...“
“We live in Indianapolis and make trips to Blue Chip, and each time we do, we have to go to Schoops! Their burgers are outstanding... simply the best. We also love the fried mushrooms and onion rings. I can't have the shakes, but if I could, I know they would be great as well. You really need to try them if you haven't... you'll be satisfied. I will tell you, a double with everything is so big, you need to be HUNGRY to finish it.“
“I made a to go order. Waited about 6 minutes. When the young man called my # I went to get my food...he said "I made a mistake." I thought " uh oh!". “I don’t get to come here often because of the price. The food is always amazing though. Always fast and friendly service. Sometimes it’s a little annoying having to dig my burger out from under the extra fries they throw on top but hell, it’s worth it.“
“Great restaurant, crew was friendly and took order quickly. Waiting for my order could see it sit on the back counter filled by one individual then minutes later another one that was taking orders outside gave me the order. Why didn't those that filled it just turn around to give it to me?“
“I can’t say enough good things about this place!!! Food, service, atmosphere, decor… all is top tier! It’s perfect for a fancy date night dinner, hanging with friends for a bar night and the outdoor patio is great for a summer hang out. The owner has clearly put her heart and soul along with a lot of time and money into turning this place into I think the best restaurant/bar in at least La Porte and Michigan City and stands toe to toe with Chicago and beyond. Run, don’t walk to this place and enjoy!“
“Made it here with ten minutes to spare last night. The crew that was working was such a hoot.I would recommend either a repair or a replacement on the speaker at the drive thru. I was having a little bit of a hard time understanding the person who was taking my order, but luckily my husband was able to decipher it. ?“
“Stoped for dinner on my way home from buying a new car from Pearl Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Peotone, IL. I was greeted at the front counter a, “What can I get for you, Sir?” Incredibly polite staff and customers. I was called, Sir, more than once. I had a roast beef sandwich, fries and a diet coke. Think I paid about $12. The only negative is the parking lot needs better lighting.Parking: Needs better lighting“

“I would have gave this McDonalds 5 stars however every time I go there then there is an issue with the slushy machine. Like right now they claim that it is broken down and they are waiting for new parts. Before that it was always something like “I’m sorry we don’t have this flavor right now would you like to try another one” or “we are cleaning this right now so it’s down”! Whatever!!! I’m so over it because it’s always the same excuse! It’s now been at least two weeks since the slushy machine has been down and I’m curious how long it takes to get that part fixed. Other than that the food is good and the fry’s are usually hot.“
