“Nice bar to go to, good people go in there. Lately I've been noticing the bartenders don't want to do their job, want to hang out with their friends and not cater to customers. Very unfriendly, act like you're a problem if you aren't a everyday customer/friend. I hate having to wave down a bartender to get my drink, this isn't your clubhouse...it's your job! smh!“

She is very familiar with event hosting and has a solid understanding of the wedding industry. It was a pleasure to work with Dani for her reliable communication, attention to detail, and professional coordination of vendors and reception timeline. Dani respected our floor plan design so the seating arrangement was exactly what we envisioned for our wedding. There was ample seating and space for our DJ, photo booth, dessert table and a gifts table. Our guests especially loved the food and the open bar. Overall, we were pleased with the entire server staff of The Emerald Green. If you are interested in a beautiful venue to host your next event, we recommend this!“

“Looking for a great dinner experience? Mesler Snoasis did it for me and my birthday guest (12/26). We arrived at the Sophy Hotel Lobby entrance. The luxurious and contemporary decor with a wall to wall fireplace was a beautiful ambiance. We immediately began posing for pictures, while waiting for our reservation time to arrive. Dinner outside in the heated igloo “Snoasis”. From start to finish it was a great experience. Igloo was beautifully decorated, cozy with music from the record player. Our appetizers and dinners was delicious (seafood; beef & chicken). The staff is attentive. Our waiter Michael is very professional and knowledgeable about the menu, guiding us in making a delicious choice. Thanks Mesler, I will be back and I’m sure my guest will also. Everyone enjoy it.“

“If you’re talking top-tier steakhouses in the Midwest, Council Oak Steaks & Seafood is firmly in that conversation.

I’ve been there multiple times for different occasions, and they’ve been consistently on point every single visit. The seafood tower is a standout fresh, well-presented, and exactly what you expect at that level. On the steak side, they don’t miss. The 28-day aged bone-in ribeye is packed with flavor, the bone-in New York strip is cooked perfectly, and even the grass-fed ribeye holds its own, which isn’t always the case at other places.

We’ve worked through a good portion of the appetizer menu too, and everything has been solid no filler items, just quality across the board.
Service matters at this level, and Sam always delivers. Attentive without being overbearing, knows the menu, and keeps the experience smooth every time.

Bottom line: consistent food, strong execution, and reliable service. They haven’t disappointed yet and that’s not easy to say after multiple visits.“

“I have only been to this restaurant once. From the outside it looks like its barely hanging on. It needs some sprucing on the outside. The interior though is classic and traditional. It has an interior that Bronzeville's Pearls Place could really use and space that Valois in Hyde Park really needs. I can also recall how good the pancakes were. I can't say much about anything else. It's been a while. My hope is that they could clean up and modernize the outside. For this they may need an infusion of cash. I believe the outside is where the business falls off a bit I mean you wouldn't even think it was open for business. Its the only place worth eating at in the whole 8th ward. The area is filled with junk food options and it's a shame. I will be back soon.“

“I had a birthday party on 8/29/2024 at Privilege. It was simply amazing. I just love how the staff are so pleasant and engage with the customers. The entire vibe was amazing. Maurice is great to work with when scheduling events. The venue is very clean. They now have a outdoor area for people which looks beautiful. The food was delicious. My guests raved about Privilege. “I came twice on two separate occasions and the food was excellent both times. I’ve only had an Italian beef, and mozzarella sticks from here. The mozzarella sticks were ok, but they were cold when they got to me so I haven’t tried them fresh from the store. The Italian beefs never disappoint. I only come for a beef when I want a good one.“

“The rice bowl chicken and shrimp are Awesome! The food was seasoned well and prepared fresh and the rice was perfectly cooked. The chicken kabobs and shrimp were also served well with this special sauce on the fries and they prepared everything just like I wanted it. I will be returning again.“

“I had the gyro double cheeseburger. the flavor was great however, the burger itself was a tad bit overcooked. That made the burger a little dry but it was still a decent meal.“

You can tell this place takes pride in what they put on the plate. The food quality here is a cut above what you'd expect, and it shows in every bite. I'll definitely be coming back and would recommend Sizzlin Skillet to anyone looking for a genuinely delicious meal. Don't sleep on this place!“
