“Sylas & Maddys has always been my favorite go to for Ice Cream! They have the best homemade ice cream in Kansas! The service is always friendly and polite. The Ice Cream is out of this world! “French Custard is the best neighborhood ice cream spot that you could ask for! They have amazing rotating seasonal flavors - as well as go to favorites. Not only are they amazing at what they do, they also donate a portion of each month's proceeds to local organizations who give back to our community. Anytime the weather warms up above 60, the line is often outside of the door, but the wait is always worth it.“

“I feel bad with the way I left the store about an hour ago. The workers and I had a miscommunication because someone else in my family ordered online and therefore had the link to check in. I was just in charge of pick up and I was by myself. When I got my order, I felt like I was short with the worker helping me (tall, curly haired man, early 20s?) and I didn't mean to. I meant for my response to be lighthearted and humorous and I'm afraid that's not how it came across. I apologize.

The variety of flavors they offer is fantastic, and I love that they rotate their menu, so there's always something new to try. The only thing I wish is that they had gluten-free options available. It would make it even easier for those of us with dietary restrictions to enjoy their delicious treats. Still, if you're looking for amazing cookies, Crumbl is definitely worth a visit!“

This is a place where you get flights. Yes, plural. I will be honest, I haven't tried the cookies here but I am a huge fan of their ice cream.

They have a solid variety and the kids behind the counter know what they're doing. Shout out to Maddy and Kate for being super nice with my kiddos.“

I love this place but they were a little lacking on the COVID restrictions tonight. No mask and people were picking their own toppings from under the barrier! Maybe they ran out of mask but we shall see. Still, it's the best place in the area for frozen yogurt.“

“Everything about Culver's is outstanding except their gluten-free hamburger buns. Since the gluten-free hamburger is the only main dish food item they have, I'm kind of stuck with it when my family wants to eat at Culver's for family dinner night. Everything about the burger is great except the bun. It's reminiscent of the gluten-free buns of 20 years ago. It's grainy, doesn't hold together, and doesn't taste that good. Just the act of picking up my burger tonight had it cracking in 4 places, with a big chunk falling off the burger and crumbling onto my tray. There are a lot of great gluten-free buns out there now. Culver's needs to find one of them and switch.

Went to Foo's because my girlfriend went when she was growing up. We got to meet Betty, Foo's sister who took over the shop and seems to be the mayor of Brookside (she formally welcomed us to her neighborhood). It was so warm and welcoming.
When we asked about flavors, it was sweet to hear her describe the flavors of the people who they were named after.
The frozen custard was delicious, accurate to description and fun. Flavors ranged from the standard to obvious unique. Sizes are appropriate (I feel like nowadays I need to ask for an infant portion), prices are fair. 10/10 feels lucky to have gone and met this gem.“

Last night, while I was at Culver’s, a woman fell in the parking lot and her spouse was struggling to help her up. One of the staff members quickly rushed over to assist them, which I thought was incredibly thoughtful and kind. I also went over to make sure she was okay, but it really stood out to me that the staff didn’t hesitate to step in and help. Moments like that speak volumes about the people who work here. Great food and even better character from the team—I’ll definitely be back.“

“Shout out to Barbara, she is just a wonderful person and good at what she does. We had the privilege of attending a fire works demo in Lawson and my kids spotted the ice cream van and Barbara just made it easy for the kids to pick what they wanted because there are so many choices!
