Mexican Restaurants near Lansing

“Tried this place for lunch one day on my way back from Fort Leavenworth. I had the Enchiladas Suizas with black beans and rice, and it was above average. The sauce was good and so was the beans and rice. I really enjoy the fiery salsa they have here, but you have to request it. The regular table salsa is good. Would come back again.“

“A lot has changed since I was last here. The decor is nicer, sturdier even. Wait staff was courteous and efficient. Food was hot and fresh. The complimentary chips and salsa were tasty and the Grilled Chicken Fajita Chimichanga with sides was very filling. What absolutely made my day was the serving of Pepsi products ?“

“A little hole in the wall type feel Mexican restaurant. And when I tell you it’s the best Mexican food in Leavenworth/Lansing area I am not joking or exaggerating in the slightest bit. The prices are a bit on the high side right around $10 per person but it’s more than worth it. And the tres leches is to die for!“

“I had chips and salsa, guacamole and their white cheese sauce. For lunch I had the taco platter. It comes with 3 and I added 1 more. They were delicious. Much bigger than I expected. I was not able to eat the 4th taco I ordered. The only thing that I can say is the meat in the tacos was watery. Not greasy but watery. I think they precook a larger amount of taco meat ( which is fine everybody does) and add water so it doesn't burn in the bottom of the pan. But when they made the tacos ? they didn't make sure to get the excess water out of the meat. That made the shells soggy and fall apart. I like crunchy tacos not soggy taco shells. Other than that everything else was great. I was with several other people and no one had any complaints I will still go back, the food is good and pretty fast coming out of the kitchen.“

“After helping a friend look for a lost dog, we showed up at Rápidos 20 minutes before closing time. We felt bad and asked if it was okay to order. Trista, the hostess and Paige, the bar tender made us feel so welcome.My friend eats low card and I have to say her shell-less beef tacos looked amazing! The taco salad was also very good. We are coming back for sure.“

“Food was good, service was good, prices were about the same, maybe slightly lower, as any other sit down restaurant. Not my favorite Mexican restaurant, however I am biased because I know the owner of my favorite Mexican restaurant, so it's probably tied with Tampicos and La Carreta on the food and service, however if I remember correctly, they are slightly lower in price. They also give some huge margaritas for the price that you pay.“

“This place took us by surprise…their ice cream is some of the best I’ve had and they have a few unique flavors. They shared that they make all ice cream there which is a plus. We will definitely be returning. The whole family gave it a big thumbs up.“

“There was no line to get a table, our server was very cheerful and attentive. I had the Carnitas plate and my buddy had the Chimichanga and both plates were tasty. I also had a Margareta which was awesome. First time having sugar on the rim versus salt.“

“Just wanted to hop on here and recommend Palacana. My husband really wanted carne asada fries for dinner, I showed them the picture and asked if they could make it. They whipped it up and I was on my way. They were absolutely delicious!!! We used to get these frequently in Colorado and haven’t seen them in Kansas; they were amazing and I hope they will be added to the menu in the future.Also the smoothies here are AMAZING; the food is great and the service is fast!“

“The food was great! The staff friendly and fast. My husband ordered the plaza mariachi burrito with steak. It was delicious!! I got the 4 street tacos one each of chicken, steak, pastor, and pork. The pastor was on the dry side. I might have gotten an older piece of pork. The flavor was good, just dry, I will try again another day. The steak and chicken tasted good. I did like the burrito my husband ordered better but it was all good.The lime cheese cake was good, not too sweet and not too sour.We will definitely be back“

“This was our first time here! Everything was so so good!!!! I have no pictures because we pounded down everything! The service was top notch!! I had carne asada and carnitas Mexican tacos!! So good and authentic. The meat was perfectly seasoned. My husband had the torta. He has it on is top 3 list. The drinks were perfect!! The restaurant was nice and clean. We will be back!“

I have been eating Chipotle burritos for years.. but the Al Pastor burrito that I got today was a thousand times better than any Chipotle burrito I ever had! No joke. “they are always so friendly when i go to pick up food. i haven’t ever sat down and ate it, i’ve always gotten carry out. the food is always fresh and that says a lot since i live 10+ minutes away, and i usually get carry out. the restaurant is always clean and well kept. the food is absolutely amazing and this restaurant is the best mexican place around :)“
