The morning team deserves a raise, the steak burritos and steak fries are the best and you can order some lunch items in the morning, which is a huge bonus to those who are not big fans of sausage and eggs. “Went to Barbacoa, 5500 Troost, for brunch Sunday morning, what a delightful experience. I ordered Monie’s plate. It was mouthwatering. The serving was so generous, that I took half of it home. The corn tortillas were soft and warm enough to make a taco, the beans were flavorful and not spicy, the carnitas were fall apart tender and very tasty, perfectly fried potatoes, and fluffy scrambled eggs. The salsa was very tasty and not overly spicy. The coffee was even tasty (Costco Kirkland medium roast). Unlike some breakfast restaurants, the background music was so low and mellow (helps with digestion), I could hear my friends talk. We have to go back during the week for dinner. UPDATE - I forgot one very important thing, the service was excellent. Our group was one of two in the restaurant, but shortly afterwards other start to arrive. There was only one friendly waitress, who, despite the growing crowd, was able to get back to us about more coffee and to check on us“

“I have nothing but positive things to say about Taco Rico. Food is fresh and oh so good. Reminds me of being in my grandmas' kitchen. When I say everything is good, I mean EVERYTHING is good. Don't even get me started on the staff!!! They will always have my vote. Yes, sometimes they are closed during their normal business hours, they (family & staff) run business and life happens. Always 5 stars in my book.“

“Los Alamos Cocina is easily the best authentic Mexican food in KC. The menudo and pozole is best ive ever had and the chili rolo and verde are both outstanding, tastes exactly like homemade because they are. Wonderful family owned stop in a historic area of KC. oh and dont forget to treat yourself to the best chillaquiles and eggs you'll ever have. Delicious! The catering we got for our New Years feast was a huge hit as well: tamales, pork verde and menudo. EXCELLENTE!“
