“Cactus Grill is very consistent. Mexican food that is more American style. But always very good. They brings all the chips and salsa you want. If you watch the Valpak, there's frequently a coupon (actually several on the page) for free espinanca or queso dip. Yum. Gotta save room for the entree. The service is always spot on. They do call aheads which is very convenient although it isn't always necessary. Casual.“
“The gent who took our order was efficient, most pleasant and got our things ready immediately. We will return!Parking: There is plenty of parking at this location; no problem whatsoever.Wheelchair accessibility: I'm using a cane now, post-op, and if I had been using a wheelchair still I would have been in good shape as they are prepared for those who use the wheelchairs.“
“This place has a family-run feel that's so fun. Sometimes they just send you back to the kitchen and show you everything that's cooking, and you order right there. They don't have margaritas, but they have something better. Try the Paloma.“
“This place is a diamond in the financial district! My friends and I stopped here during our lunch break because we were craving tex mex I looked the place up and felt hopeful but once we got the food we were blown away! Ernesto and veronica (i hope i got their names right) were the most welcoming and the food was fresh, filling, and tasted amazing. It felt like a mom and pop restaurant and the chocolate chip toffee cookie was heavenly. Sadly we were in KC for only a week or id go there every day during lunch! Get a bowl and cherry coke and say hi to the owners for Nico, Justin and I“
“Came here for a quick bite before a Kansas City game. A family run restaurant with fresh ingredients and friendly service. They have a variety of food options including sandwiches, bbq and tacos. We tried their pork tacos and the pork was full of flavour and spiced deliciously. You can also tell all the ingredients are fresh. A great place to try if you’re in the area or heading to the stadium as it’s not too far from it.“
“This is our favorite taco place! The food is delicious and I can get beef cheek here. I placed a carry out order and service was prompt and courteous. They made sure I had everything I needed before I left. I cannot say enough good things about Taqueria La Nueva!! Love this place ♥️“
“Awesome neighboorhood casual mexican eatery that is family owned and operated. Loved the fresh cooked chips and the fresh salsa is outstanding. Try the pickle salsa on the beef tacos, sounds different but was fantastic. Will be coming back!“
“We came here for the Pupusas, a favorite Salvadoran dish! They had so many filling options for the Pupusas and they were all delicious! Make sure to ask for the salsas to go with, but beware, they pack some HEAT! Service was very nice and the atmosphere quite festive!“
“The customer service here is fantastic. Every single staff member was kind and smiling and willing to help. The service is also fast which I appreciate since I didn’t have much time for lunch. I made a mistake and ordered the wrong dish so I can’t really rave about the food but it was still up to par.“
“They have THE BEST CHICKEN MOLE IN the 22 different states that I have ate it in. Wife got Chile Verde and it was delicious. Portions great especially for take out. She took some of hers home BUT mine was so good; I ate the white off the plate. LOL BUT SERIOUSLY folks great chow great service. Also if you live up north, there's a location on I 29 and Barry road towards airport. AND if you like an adult beverage they will HOOK YOU UP. TRY IT“
“Go check out their new location. I’ve been coming here for about 3 years and have always liked it but it rivaled one of my favs in Overland Park. Tonight they blew them out of the water. They have definitely been putting their all into the not only the restaurant but the food too and I could definitely tell. Best meal I’ve had in a while. Tacos al pastor always hits but tonight it was other worldly. Also ordered pozole, tamales and elote. All was so fire will definitely be coming more often than I was.“
“Excellent experience! I went in about 8:30pm on a Friday night (they close at 10) and they were still pretty full but had a table for me to sit at alone without taking up too much space. They were very accommodating, and most importantly, the food was delicious!!! I had a chicken quesadilla, and 3 tacos. One each of: chorizo, carnitas, & chicken. All 3 were a delight! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who considers them self a fan of authentic Mexican food, done right! The food came out quickly and perfectly cooked. The hot sauce was a perfect pairing for the tacos. I’ll be back soon!“
“I went for Sunday brunch and everything was spectacular. I shared the esquites, queso fundido, and ceviche, and for my entree I had the chilaquiles. For dessert, we shared the arroz con leche, and I would recommend everything on that list. Drinks were tasty and refreshing, and the service was excellent. 100% you should eat at this restaurant, Roman creates excellent dishes and takes his time to plate the food beautifully. You can tell he cares about his food, restaurant, and customers.“
“Service-5/5 Food-4/5 Atmosphere-4.5/5 Our first time here and it was tasty! I got the prickly pear margarita and it was very tasty! I also ordered the shrimp quesadillas and I was surprised by the amount of shrimp. I often feel like shrimp quesadillas don't have a good amount of shrimp but this one definitely does! It is smothered in cheese and filled with cheese so it's a bit of a cheese! Our server was super nice and attentive. I want to go back here and try their queso for sure“
“Customer service absolutely amazing and the food will need no seasoning everything cooked to order so it’s fresh….the workers at officially chopped barbershop told me about this place and let me tell you they were all right this place is “
“Delicious wood grilled chicken in half or whole. It comes with beans, rice, pickled onions and a salsa purée. It smelled absolutely delicious when you go inside, and the food was even better. The place doesn’t look like anything special, but the food and service are top tier. The lady working the counter was kind and on her game. This is a must visit location in KC and now one of our favorites.“
“We love this torchy‘s location!! The food is always perfection and the staff is well trained and friendly. My husband and I drive 40 minutes away from our home just to experience this awesome restaurant. We are not young people and have eaten tacos in many, many places, but this torchy‘s in particular – is our favorite. It is clearly a well-run and well-managed business. Great job, Byron and staff!!!“
“I come here every week on Tuesday. I love it here. My friends and I gather and eat delicious food together and have a wonderful time. There is a bar for drinks although a bit on the pricier on shots compared to other places.Chorizo is my favorite with Quesabirria coming close in second. All the meats are so flavorful and so satisfying. The chips and queso are probably my favorite of all near by mexican joints.I also should mention their serve yourself bar with onions, cilantro, many other veggies, pineapple, and various sauces to fit all spice level eaters. The service is always so nice, when we come consistently they even remember our orders and its super sweet and makes us feel special.I will be back and I will continue to invite more people to come every week!!*They have a secret taco tuesday that we have been asked if we are apart of although there is never any extra information on how to join this group.“
“We had a fantastic experience catering Fajita Pete's for my in-laws anniversary party! Scott helped me determine the correct amount to order and was accommodating with our order pickup needs. The food was delicious and there was more than enough to go around for our large group. Would definitely recommend for catering an event or even just to pick up dinner on your way home on a week night-you won't be disappointed!“
“Food was great, yummy veggie options, and the service was excellent. Every single person was smiling and helpful- you just don’t find that environment everywhere these days. Thanks for a great dinner (and thanks Diana and the rest of the staff for being awesome!)“
“These tamales are some of the best I've ever had - and I've had them in all three of the Americas. Don't be surprised if they run out on Saturdays because I see people carrying them out by the sackfux and boxes. They sell them by the dozen. Carnitas too. All the food is good. Yes I've had everything on the menu. The Pupusas are authentic El Salvador. Great value for the price. Quintessential hole in the wall with six booths. There is a park behind it so we usually get our food and go over there to the farmers market or just take a walk. This is truly mom and pop so if you have a big order, do them a favor and call ahead. And do the rest of us a favor by calling ahead because if you take everything they have made for the day then they won't have any left for me!“
“I really enjoyed my order because the Birria, shredded pork, and flour tamales were absolutely delicious and made my mouth water. Despite being busy, the service was good and the staff were still very nice and sweet. Also, the place was clean and had lovely colors.“
“It's hard to compete in the crowded Tex Mex dining market. Shoot, my personal favorite MI Ranchito is right up the street from this Tacos & Tequila. But T&T does a few things to distinguish itself. My daughter's spicy margarita was very tasty and my Pollo Con Chorizo was quite unique with tasty browned chorizo served on flattened grilled chicken and queso.I don't see T&T supplanting my favorite Tex Mex joints, but it is unique enough to warrant a try.“
“Food was great, yummy veggie options, and the service was excellent. Every single person was smiling and helpful- you just don’t find that environment everywhere these days. Thanks for a great dinner (and thanks Diana and the rest of the staff for being awesome!)“
“Our favorite place to go to for authentic Mexican tacos and authentic Salvadorean pupusas. Everything is super flavorful, always want more but can’t fit it anywhere else! We’ve tried other Salvadorean places that have opened recently and none compare to this one.“
“Food is authentic and tastes great. Perfect amount odds seasonings. Plated well even though it was take out. Make sure to visit this hidden gem in South KC. Small locally owned business that needs your support! Owners very nice and service was fast.“
“The food was amazing, they cut the meat to pretty fine pieces, so it's very easy to eat as far as street tacos go.The service was great, very kind staff, you may need to know some Spanish to get by here. The payment is CASH ONLY. Don't forget to bring cash with you.The space looks like they've done well with a low budget. It could be better, but for what it is they've done their best.“
“I had the Marky's Big Mama Burrito and it was huge with a nice topping of chorizo. Good portioned side of a cheese relleno too. The staff was fast, nice, and attentive and the drinks were good too. Will be back -- a good deal for the money and an inviting atmosphere!“
“Seriously the best carne asada & pastor tacos I have had! We tried this place for the first time last weekend - we live right down the street. We have ate here THREE more times because I can’t get their tacos off of my mind. Can’t wait to try their Tortas next! ?“
“I'm vegetarian and this is 1 of my go-to's- the meat is kept separate from the fresh veggies- cilantro rice and beans- I always get a salad, and totally love their mango salsa. The service is awesome! And there's always a clean place to sit for dine-in.Vegetarian options: You choose each and every item you'd like- either in a burrito, a bowl, a salad, etc. there are MANY options! If you're a vegetarian it's easy to not select any meat; there is a plethora of fresh veggie items to choose from, and dairy toppings as well. They have some traditionally named desserts like flan and tres leches- and the strawberry limonada is my favorite drink“
“One of my favorite Mexican restaurants!Great food! Large portions and the food is always good and fresh! Our server was excellent and attentive no matter how busy they are. This restaurant is always busy! So go early or be prepared to stand and wait for a table!Parking is in the back of the restaurant and on the street in front but Broadway is busy so best to park in the back.I like ordering al-la-carte because the portions are large! Please go if you haven't, you will enjoy it!“
“Good food, exceptional service and convenient location. I ordered the taco salad to go and it was so nice to have a tortilla bowl that was not soggy from all the grease. Great job!!Kid-friendliness: Have taken our kids there several times and they love it.“
“If you want delicious and authentic Mexican cuisine, this local establishment is the place to go. The people are always friendly and the environment is warm and inviting. From the crispy flautas, filling burritos, and delicious tacos; to the various snacks, candies and paletas, you’re sure to leave happily fed. This hidden gem puts in the extra work to bring a little bit of Mexico to Belton.Well worth the money in comparison to most places nowadays and will gladly return every chance I get.“
“The food here is great. The flavor of everything they serve is better than Chipotle and on par with a really good sit down restaurant. The fire-roasted shredded chicken and tomatillo ranch are both addictive - I usually get them in the ranch salad. Very good salsa. Some good daily specials as well and a rewards program.“
“One of our favorite places that we frequent in KC. I've never been disappointed & food is consistently fantastic. If you are considering going, you've got to try it. Staff is very friendly and accommodating and can recommend options if you are unsure. Love all the cerviche options!“
“My favorite Mexican food in KC, period. More "street style" than traditional restaurant style, and the food is just amazing. I've known the owner, Don Memo (Guillermo) for years, as he used to run the taco truck in front of Olivares Auto Garage, at Independence Ave/Denver on the Missouri side. His tacos were fantastic then, and are just next-level awesome now that he has an actual kitchen to work with. If you're looking to just sit down and enjoy some wonderful authentic Mexican food (antojitos) without the expense of a large restaurant, and without having to sit outside like at a taco truck, this is the place to go.“
“This was my first visit. I do my laundry next door to the restaurant and the wonderful aroma made me want to try the food. I ordered carry out. When I picked up my food I was impressed with the inside. It looked very clean and colorful. The staff were very friendly and the food was very good. I will go back again.“
“I have a sentimental connection with this location-- my father was an acquaintance to the owners and he would bring hotel guests when they asked for authentic Mexican tacos. I also got to experience the flavor and great service prior to his passing. On another note, there are indoor and outside seating choices. There are plenty of other authentic items to purchase and different food items; we always opt for carne asada & al pastor tacos with cheesy fries (queso is thick & tasty). Salsa bar offers great spicy and non-spicy salsas. I like the mural and open space update. RR does need a little attention.“
“This place has it all: a bustling grocery store, freshly made tortillas, a meat market, and excellent food for takeout or counter service with ample indoor seating. I had pork tamales, a taco al pastor, and a chile relleno taco (the first time I’ve had that, although I’ve always loved chile relleno on their own). All was really good: the chile relleno taco was my favorite, the al pastor was missing pineapple (bummer), and the pork tamales were yummy but maybe just a bit on the dry side. The salsa bar had several spicy options and I washed everything down with horchata. Great spot with a busy lunchtime crowd and lots of free parking.“
“Finally some good authentic Mexican food in OP. I got the Birria Plate and it was delicious. The portions are huge and the food literally warmed my soul. My boyfriend got the Asada Tacos which were also fire. We enjoyed our lunch while he gave me a history lesson of the classical Mexican 50s music that was playing. Arturo was our server and he was very attentive, not to mention he’s a great bartender.“
“This is one of the most phenomenal restaurants I have ever been to in my life. The owner is so friendly and personable. This place is the definition of how a business should be run. I wish them great success! I have found a new favorite lunch spot. Thanks“
“We were a party of 14 with no reservations. They were able to seat us n take are orders within a few minutes of entering their establishment, even though they had a pretty full restaurant. The waitress was very efficient and they brought are food out within about 10 or 15 minutes. Everyone was pleased with their food.“
“Hands down my favorite street tacos in town. The atmosphere is SO sweet and the servers are always working so hard to make things incredible. It's wildly inexpensive for what you get and this place will truly turn your whole day around! Definitely give it a go.“
“Fire. Come on now everyone knows about torito. If you ain't going in there trying to get some Carne asada waiting 30 min for your number to be called while standing next to some random person. Your missing out. They need to make that place bigger.“
“For context: I arrived at approximately 6:30pm, on a week night. I was alone and sat at the bar.FOOD: The meal came with free chips and salsa. This was by far, the BEST salsa that I've had in the midwest. I ordered the vegetarian fajitas, it came with rice and black beans (which most places mess up the rice and beans).Other than the tortillas, this was the best I've had in the Midwest too! Highly recommended. 5⭐SERVICE: Meh, it was a busy weekday, I was at the bar & she was busy.... It was okay. Not great, but okay. 4⭐ATMOSPHERE: Holy cow! It was SO noisy. They had music playing and occasionally an *obnoxiously loud* birthday song would be played. It was waaayyy too loud for my taste. 2⭐(I would have to say the place was packed and others looked to be enjoying themselves)I do plan on returning, but I think I will try earlier in the day so it will be quieter? Otherwise, the patio or take-out would be a better fit for me.For those sensitive to noises: AVOID and get take-out“
“Still my favorite Mexican restaurant in the KC area. Excellent food and service with terrific prices. We generally get the cheese and onion enchilada and soft chicken tacos, but their chicken quesadillas, burritos, and chicken wings are also good. They have a rewards card that we love as regular customers. It is a great place for special occasions, such as birthdays and anniversaries.“
“I had a "to go" order with a great coupon; I asked about it, with a sweet response that the coupon was to help families out since the cost of living has gone up. I walked into a huge restaurant with a nice Mexican flair. The food was good, loved the salsa (mild so ask for something hotter?) but for pinto and black bean lovers, refried beans is only option.“
“During our visit to KC from Vancouver, CA. We stumbled across this great local spot while enjoying the beautiful neighbourhoods near by.Rudy’s had exceptional service! Fresh tortilla chips and salsa almost immediately after being seated followed with a drink order and delicious tacos!! This place is as filled with locals and definitely was the place we wanted to find to avoid the tourist hub.We will certainly be back!!“
“-Sweet, salty and savory treats and drink options -Welcoming and attentive service. -Menu titles in Spanish with English descriptions. -Location has been upgraded with outside seating and canopy. -Processing fee for credit card payments -$$“
“Viva never fails to make me happy on the service and the food and the atmosphere! Definitely recommend here everything on the menu is delicious i really recommend the texas fajita definitely a good choice but everything else is good i have been coming here since 2022 and has always been one of my favorites i like it alot better than taqueria mexico wayyyyyy better trust me!!“
