“The guy that made my bowl was short tempered with me. I could barely hear what he said. He barely put stuff on my bowl didn't even ask what I would like. I will say he over did it with the sauces. If this was my first time here, he would be no help.
There was one employee, I wish I got his name was very kind.“

“Went to Barbacoa, 5500 Troost, for brunch Sunday morning, what a delightful experience. I ordered Monie’s plate. It was mouthwatering. The serving was so generous, that I took half of it home. The corn tortillas were soft and warm enough to make a taco, the beans were flavorful and not spicy, the carnitas were fall apart tender and very tasty, perfectly fried potatoes, and fluffy scrambled eggs. The salsa was very tasty and not overly spicy. The coffee was even tasty (Costco Kirkland medium roast). Unlike some breakfast restaurants, the background music was so low and mellow (helps with digestion), I could hear my friends talk. We have to go back during the week for dinner. UPDATE - I forgot one very important thing, the service was excellent. Our group was one of two in the restaurant, but shortly afterwards other start to arrive. There was only one friendly waitress, who, despite the growing crowd, was able to get back to us about more coffee and to check on us“

“I do not normally leave reviews for restaurants so this is special. The 4 star rating for the food is only because I have visited only 1 time and there are a lot of options to choose from. The burritos supremos I had was excellent though. The staff seemed friendly and the food was prepared quickly. I would have preferred a little better lighting for those of us with slight vision problems but the decor is pleasant and relaxing. Will update rating after a few more trips and different menus selections....“

“This mom & pop authentic Mexican restaurant operation in KCK serves delicious wood fire grilled chicken with rice, pinto beans, salsa, with pickled red onions & tortillas. You get a bang for your buck. Pinto beans are cooked with chicharrones & hot dogs...yummm! It's simple, tasty with no frills. It's crowd pleaser!????????“

“My first time eating at Tacos & Tequila was last night. The food was delicious (best re-fried beans I've ever tasted!), the staff were super friendly & helpful, especially our waitress, Arilya (sp). I didn't have a margarita, but they looked very refreshing. (Next time for sure!) The atmosphere is bright & fun. This is now one of my favorite Mexican restaurants and I will frequent often!“

“Authentic Taqueria, check. Good food at great prices, check. Honestly no reason to go to Chipotle when a burrito from here is twice as good as half the price. The hot sauce has some good kick to it so be careful if you are uninitiated. Overall I enjoy La Lupita. It isn't the best taqueria I've ever been to, but it is the best in this region that I've found so far.“

“Run, don’t walk. This place is so damn good. I have had many of tacos in my life….these are truly at the top of my list. The KC taco….chefs kiss. The suadero….dont even get me started. Texture, juiciness, tenderness, crunch, zest, love. All things you want in a taco and they have it all plus some. We tried 6 tacos and all were incredible. Just….trust me. Go.“

“This place is perfect in every way. They have the best chips and salsa of any Mexican Restaurants when me and my friends go we end up getting like 6 plates of chips and at least 3 refills of salsa each. The food is also fire the pork carnitas are Lightning in a bottle an amazing explosion of Flavor the carnitas tend to explode all over my hands, but that’s a me issue. Their pricing is also very good. I would recommend this place to all who are looking for great Mexican food!“

“MUST EAT HERE!! We stopped in for dinner and a whim. It was new and we were hungry. We were greeted immediately and we were taken back to our table. Chips and salsa are so good! Thick chips and perfect salsa. We also ordered spinach and cheese dip which was also so perfect. I ordered their house margarita which was everything I wanted it to be.! I ordered the flautas. It came with rice and beans. Truly they were the best beans and rice! Everything I ate was so flavorful. I swear I meant to take a picture but I just kept eating and forgot. Service was top notch. Everyone that helped us was so friendly and genuine. The only downside to this restaurant is, it's not near my house. 😉 Maybe that's a good thing 😄😜 Highly recommend!!!“

“One of my favorite places to eat. Food is delicious and fresh always. Best known for the burgers but have other delicious plates. Their aguas frescas are…AMAZING! The pepino agua was my favorite! Service was great. Got packed with to-go orders but still managed to tend the tables.“

“Food is delicious and priced well. I ordered a Torta de Pastor, Burrito Loco, and a taco de Asada and everything was very good. Only 3 tables so seating is a bit tight and tables are close together so you might bump into someone. Regardless, this spot is worth trying.“
