“The guy that made my bowl was short tempered with me. I could barely hear what he said. He barely put stuff on my bowl didn't even ask what I would like. I will say he over did it with the sauces. If this was my first time here, he would be no help.

“Went to Barbacoa, 5500 Troost, for brunch Sunday morning, what a delightful experience. I ordered Monie’s plate. It was mouthwatering. The serving was so generous, that I took half of it home. The corn tortillas were soft and warm enough to make a taco, the beans were flavorful and not spicy, the carnitas were fall apart tender and very tasty, perfectly fried potatoes, and fluffy scrambled eggs. The salsa was very tasty and not overly spicy. The coffee was even tasty (Costco Kirkland medium roast). Unlike some breakfast restaurants, the background music was so low and mellow (helps with digestion), I could hear my friends talk. We have to go back during the week for dinner. UPDATE - I forgot one very important thing, the service was excellent. Our group was one of two in the restaurant, but shortly afterwards other start to arrive. There was only one friendly waitress, who, despite the growing crowd, was able to get back to us about more coffee and to check on us“

They are always attentive, friendly, and fast. I would recommend this restaurant. Everyone is nice here. Reasonable price for a lot of food. Indoor and outdoor seating.“

“We love Torchy’s! We have been to many Torchy’s Tacos in different states but the KC location is our favorite! The food is always amazing. We drive up from Springfield about once a month to shop and eat at Torchy’s! The employees and management are always so friendly! Highly recommend!“

“My wife wanted something different, so we looked up this place. When we arrived, we weren’t sure if it was a dine in type place. It looked like a convenience store, but I encouraged her to go in. I’m glad she listened this time. lol. There’s a friendly guy as soon as you walk in that helped us with the menu. We sat ourselves and waited, and then the food arrived. We really enjoyed, and will be back to visit. In the meantime, we will encourage others to give them a try.“

“I spent the last 8 months being away from home which is Texas. a little over a month into it, I found Los Alamos Cocina. they have the best Mexican food in the Kansas City area. it was such a comfort for me to have a taste of home away from home. I ate there every Saturday morning from the time I discovered it to the time I left. the owner and the staff are very awesome down the Earth humble people! I'm going to miss eating there and my interactions with El Jefe and Benito and everyone else! thank you Los Alamos Cocina for being my comfort away from home.“

“🚨GUACAMOLE CHANGE! We’ve been coming to Ponaks for 30 years. The guacamole has aways been one of our favorites. Today we ordered it and immediately noticed something was different. We asked the server and he confirmed that they have changed their recipe, and it’s for the worst. They’ve added “filler” by putting pico and other ingredients into it. It’s not even close to what it was. I hope they don’t start changing their food and Margaritas!!! There is a reason people keep coming back year after year! Please dont mess with perfection Ponaks!“

“80th Street location We usually go to the one on 151st but saw a review in a group and this one was so cute decided to try it. We went on Monday, had such an amazing dinner that we went back tonight (Tuesday). Our servers both nights were beyond friendly and knowledgeable. I forgot Mondays server name but tonight was Marcos and he was the absolute best! I had the tortilla soup both nights and I just want a gallon of it, the best I have ever had. The toppings added to it overall, and the fresh avocado was so tasty. Really, get it, you won't be the same after. Is getting it 3 days in a row excessive? Hmmmm Taco Tuesday tacos $1 each, ground beef or chicken. The ground beef is well seasoned, and delicious. The avocado salsa is another must try. This is a must and my new favorite place.“

“Stopped into this gem for lunch and grabbed a carryout order. I ordered inside at the counter and the woman behind the counter was helpful and kind, answered any question I had. I waited about 7 minutes for my carryout order, 3 asada tacos, add onion, with a habanero salsa. This place is fantastic. The tacos were 12/10, delicious. From staff, to seating, all the way to the food, everything was great. I will be coming back!“

They have the best chips and salsa of any Mexican Restaurants when me and my friends go we end up getting like 6 plates of chips and at least 3 refills of salsa each. The food is also fire the pork carnitas are Lightning in a bottle an amazing explosion of Flavor the carnitas tend to explode all over my hands, but that’s a me issue. “Very cool atmosphere. Have one person during lunch taking orders and serving food. Wait time is long during lunch. Food is a 8. Would be a 10 if there wasn’t a puddle of oil at the bottom of my Togo container that made my taco shells fall apart. And the cactus on the mushroom taco were woody.“

“Honestly we were waiting in line to eat somewhere else and we got tired of waiting and walked down the street to this place. Didn't have very high expectations if I'm being honest. The decore is a little 12 years ago, but it's to be expected. What I didnt expect was how good the food was going to be. First of all they have a pretty good beer selection and a lot of interesting cocktails. We got the chips and queso as a starter (which came out with our food, oh well). Unbelievably delicious. Restaurant made chips, perfectly salty and crisp. Very tasty queso. My wife and I then had the mix and match tacos. I had 2 chicken and 2 mahi mahi and my wife had the cheeseburger and the cane asada. They were all delicious, except the chicken was a little bland.

Our server, I can't remember his name now sorry, was excellent. Very attentive, professional, amiable. Top tier service.

The drinks were a little spendy but that is to be expected I guess. Actually turned out to be the most expensive meal we had on our trip. Big bonus was that there was no wait and the food came out quick. All in all it was a great experience.“
