“Beyond impressed! My boyfriend's favorite dessert is a key lime pie. He has a son that has a gluten and dairy allergy and his one request for his birthday this year was a key lime pie that he could share with his son. That was not an easy task to locate. Even though it is not something they offer on their menu, Mud Pie Bakery was willing to do a special order for a gluten free, dairy free key lime pie and I must say, we were blown away! It was delicious! The crust was delicious, the filling was tangy, and the whipped topping was sweet and balanced everything else out! Not only that, but it looked beautiful! The best part is that my boyfriend's son got to enjoy a sweet treat that the rest of the family was having and that is something that rarely happens, due to his dietary restrictions! Thank you, Mud Pie, for doing this for us and for being so kind and accommodating!“

And the chocolate chip croissant is so light and buttery and flaky, it might have been made by an actual angel. I seriously cannot recommend Fox and Bull enough.“

I do notice a change in the attitude of the staff since about later 2025.

This may be because of any number of things. Around October 22 or 23 there were two bank robberies,first 1:30pm in Waldo area US bank Gregory Boulevard and Wornall Road-last one at 3:30pm a block away UMB Bank 49th & Main Street.

While the wait staff is excellent in a leisurely lunch, yet highly attentive; the sales staff are aggressive as soon as I am finished with the meal.
Even if I go to purchase a special treat not having a meal, and I want to shop. Also the price of chocolate treats were around $97.00 a pound for liquor chocolate truffles in February 2026!I don’t even look at the truffles anymore ( prices may fluctuate but I have noticed it’s unlikely prices go down).

I feel the sales staff rush customers to pay and leave.“

“They keep their door open so the wonderful smells of deliciously baking pies hit your nose and invite you to come in. I was unfortunately recently stuffed with lunch so that I couldn't order anything, but saw lots of varieties and sizes being offered. I did nab a bag of pie fries for later though... and totally regret not getting more! So crunchy but soft, dusted with the perfect amount of cinnamon sugar. The best part of the pie in snack form.“

Since our wedding, we’ve had multiple family members and friends reach out to express how much they loved our wedding cake. The store does not accept credit or debit cards...cash only. The guys who work here are helpful. Parking is a bit limited, but it's a very small shop. It's usually not very crowded. People can shop quickly and get in and out without any problem.“

And I even take the kids. That's my level of devotion to these things. Anyway, go there expecting a wait and that they may be out of some things because they are just that good. Calling them ahead to reserve things is good in theory but likely no one will answer if they are busy, which they are a lot on weekends.“
