“I just ate the best quesadilla I have ever tasted in my life!
To put this in context, I have lived over four decades in a different community that has many outstanding Mexican restaurants; moreover, I have eaten at at incredible Mexican restaurants in Santa Fe, Taos, Albuquerque, Tucson, LA, Texas, and so many more.
A colleague and I selected this place based on Google reviews, and it did not disappoint us at all!
Edgar, our server, was outstanding! It turns out that many of the dishes are named after him and his relatives (e.g., sister, cousins, and the like). My quesadilla was called Pedro's quesadilla; it is in the second photograph, and I substituted rice for the onions.
My colleague ordered the Evelyn Platter, which is the third photograph.
The chips were fresh and the salsa was distinctly homemade. They also brought out two bottles of additional hot sauce.
That was so good that I gave it nearly a 100 percent tip!
We ordered the most expensive dishes on the menu which were around $12; however, almost everything else was less.
Be aware, this place was converted to be a restaurant to say this quaint is an overstatement; it is really small. We almost did not stay because getting a seat was seemingly impossible; however, flowed smoothly and we were able to sit immediately. So were others!
If you want a unique dining experience at a family-owned restaurant, it is doubtful you could find anything better!“

“The food at la casita, is always fresh and tastes homemade with lots of love from their kitchen. And It truly is a very authentic meal. Give it a try, I recommend the torta al pastor!“

“Our family has been eating here for 14yrs. We've celebrated every milestone, victory, and loss here. There's plenty of space for any size party. The food is always consistent, the staff is always cheerful. It has a perfect mix of authentic Mexican & Tex-Mex cuisine. There's chicken strips and fries on the menu for the picky kids. Take a shot of tequila, have a margarita, relax and enjoy!“

“A few weeks ago, we had Ta Co cater our son's wedding. Everything was amazing! The food was delicious! They came in and set-up as we requested buffet style, an abundance of fresh and delicious food! The guests kept telling us how much they loved the food! And Andy is great to work with, we will continue to support this place.“

“Don't let the outside or small place fool you!! Zoila's is one of the best authentic Mexican restaurants in Topeka. We love their chorizo and eggs, traditional or street tacos, enchiladas, menudo, caldo de res, pozole, and my next time chilaquiles is what I'm going to try. Another customer ordered it and it looked so good!“

“We placed an order online for pick up. Got it home and one of the meals was wrong, food was cold, chipswere stale and one of the items was missing. We live 20 min away, so we didn't go back to complain, but beware if you order an order for pick up.“

“My husband and I go to El Mezcal a couple times a year and are always pleased with the food and service, but tonight we were exceptionally impressed. We were served by Luciano and I don’t know if we have ever had better service anywhere. Very personable, very attentive, very impressive!“

“Good food, great service, clean and reasonable prices. What more do you want? Highly recomend Dominique (Dom), Joshua or Abrianna as servers and the Monterey burrito, espinaca, chicken and avocado enchilada.
Also, substitute the grilled veges (no charge) as they are wonderful. And, oddly enough, this may be the best cheeseburger in Topeka.“

“Always delicious when we go here. My biggest complaints are they don't have drink prices on their menus. Very annoying. Another thing is it gets very loud in this space. They need to put something on the ceilings to decrease the noise. Other than that, always good food at a decent price.“

“Dear New Friends at Jorge’s Cantina, We were treated like we were old friends. The food was excellent and we loved the not over-salted to make up for lack of great spice-know-how and flavor. The food also looked amazing on our plates. The wait staff is very efficient and friendly. The margaritas are delish and of generous proportion! All the customers seem happy to be there which is fun in itself! To sum it up, Jorge’s lives up to its motto, “ Never a bad day at Jorge’s!” Looking forward to our next visit.“
