“The start of my first official day in Kentucky kicked off at Eastgate Family Restaurant. My friend who’s from here advised that Eastgate Family Restaurant has the best breakfast in the city. Based on what he said I had to go.As Eastgate Family Restaurant sits in a parking plaza there is ample parking. Upon walking it you are met with a sign to seat yourself. The restaurant is huge but has the feel of a small down home diner. The decor is very simple and dominated by gray tones.Once seated we were greeted by Lisa who was all smiles and midwest charm. The menu has an abundance of options but the breakfast section was calling my name. LoL!As I watched the servers bring out some other dishes I had to think long and hard about what I wanted. Being that my tastebuds we’re all over the place I decided to go A-La-Carte, don’t judge me.Food:Grits - The grits were plain. There was nothing special about them overall but they satisfied my desire for some grits. The serving size was very generous and after adding 6 packs of butter I was happier. LoL!Bacon (well done) - The bacon was the bomb. It was thick and well done just how I like it. Even with being well done it still had the robust flavor profile of smoked pork. Truth be told, I would come back for the bacon alone.Home Fries (well done and add onions) - The home fries were thinly sliced which made the crispyness even better. Though they were thin they still had the softness in the middle. They hit the spot.Overall, Eastgate Family Restaurant was a good meal with great service at a great price. It’s worth a visit if you’re in the area and looking for home cooked flavor without having to cook it.“

“The waitress that served us was amazing. We did have to experience conflict between staff, but our waitress was not involved. Food was reasonably priced and was amazing.Dietary restrictions: Waitress was very understanding of my allergies and was very helpful in finding food that I could eat.“

“We don't get service like this in Illinois - pretty sure the longest I had to wait for a drink was about 30 seconds. Food was great, and being right by the river adds great atmosphere. The dog friendly aspect put the cherry on top since we could let our little guy sit at our feet outside. Y'all rule.“

“Nice waiters and waitresses. The food is good, and I noticed some more meat selections and food the kiddos like to eat. I love the greens and how they always taste so good! The salad bar is amazing with plenty of selections! Especially if you are a salad eater like my family and I! The dessert bar has several selections, and the waiters have always been on point with keeping tables clear and getting drink refills. “My kids and i drove from Evansville, IN to eat here. As we headed to the buffet for our first plate, my son suddenly got sick and wound up in the restroom with it all over his shirt and shoes. I cleaned him up the best I could and decided we should head home before having eaten anything.Our server, the woman that sat us, and the manager were amazing in the way they handled it and treated us. We didn't get to eat except for the couple of cinnamon rolls and few pieces of bacon my other 2 kids already had on their plates, which staff boxed up so my other 2 could at least have that on the drive home. Staff showed care and concern for my son and did everything they could to help and even made my sick son a Sprite in a to-go cup and made my coffee to-go without me asking for it. I appreciate this since this event was stressful enough. Absolutely wonderful people working here. “Best pizza I have ever had! Me and my wife stopped in and didn't know what to expect. I had told her about the deep dish pizza I had in Chicago, which is why I decided on the pizza pie. This was better than anything I had in Chicago. The crust was perfect, the sauce was amazing and the cheese looked like something off of a commercial. Left a 20 dollar tip just because of how good the food was, we still talk about that pizza to this day.Parking: All parking was within a short distance from the entrance.“

“You can tell they put a lot of work on the inside of this, it really is a different feel has a different look. They still have a long way to go from what it looks like inside. They’re putting together a bar and a little food counter. But all in all it has a great feel, has a good look. The only thing that was a little off, was they did not really have any shoes in stock so to speak. They had a few sizes but nothing that would work for a few people that we had with us. I’ll be at disappointing it’s not going to stop us from coming back. It’s good to have the bowling alley open and looking as good as it does, it will be a nice place to spend time.“

“One of the best meals we have had at a cricket barrel in a long time. Service was OK, we were there as they were transitioning from breakfast to lunch. The wait was well worth it as my wife ordered the chicken and dumplings were very fresh and excellent. Atmosphere was typical for the brand“
