5 yeas since last visit because Human had changed hands.Have read some new reviews and since it now has changed hands again so glad we tried again. Definitely Will be back just like we used to .pretty regularly. Food was very good !!!! Good Luck to Jason and his staff Good Job

The dish was a masterpiece of flavor and texture fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked shrimp, flavorful seasoning (sometimes with curry powder for "Singapore" style), and generous portions. But add $6 more dollars for extra shrimp!! 😀😅
Food is good. I’ve been eating at/from Hunan since they were on North Blvd.
My main issue is that they cannot manage to get their online prices to match what is on the in restaurant menu. The last three times that I have ordered, the total from the online order was $4-$5 less than I was actually charged. When I addressed this with the manager, they said that they were having trouble contacting the online provider to update the prices.

Based on the reviews, Hunan Chinese Restaurant buffet is a small Chinese buffet in Baton Rouge. The food is superior to other buffets in the city, especially if you arrive when they open at 11:00 a.m. when the buffet is super fresh and tasty. You can also order a la carte off a printed menu for a meal cooked to order. The food is quality and fresh, with specific dishes including mushroom soup (which is unbelievable), shrimp dishes, chicken and brocollie, pepper steak, stuffed bell pepper, fried chicken, chicken on a stick, mushrooms in a brown sauce, snap beans, fried fish, sushi, and broiled fish. The people running the place deserve a pat on the back, and the staff is friendly and works very hard. However, the sushi is prepared the night before and is not the best. Also, some reviewers note the food is not particularly tasty, and there is an extra charge for extra shrimp. The restaurant has changed hands and is now very good again.
