“We stopped in on our was from Texas to Alabama. The store was great! Clean, well organized, items not found just anywhere.

I stopped specifically for the pork cracklins. While the flavor was good, not overly spiced, they were fried extra hard, to the point I thought they would break my teeth.

I'm definitely going to give them another chance, hoping this was an unusual occurrence. I also want to try the chicken cracklins.“

“It was delicious, but after eating half I started wishing that there wasn't so much cheese so I couldn't finish the grits but ate the shrimp. Everything else on the other dish was superb. Nice spot overall. Got some crackling for starters that was different but unique.“

“Lack luster gumbo: Arrived just after opening, ordered chicken and sausage gumbo with extra rice. Gumbo arrived and was luke warm. Had a overpowering taste of roux which really made the meal unworthwhile. I've eaten at Chris's a number of times before and not had this issue so there is the unknown of why it was soo bad this time. I will think twice before visiting again.“

Anyway ima tell a story about my pain when trying to play ping pong, ok so me and my dad where at the worlds second largest Marriott very cool place 10/10 but I wanted to play sum ping pong so I went down to the pool but there where people playing so me and my dad went up to our room. The next day we went to go get breakfast and when we came back, the same two people where playing ping pong now thing is they aren’t GOOD they aways miss the ball like how can that be fun. The NEXT DAY THEY WHERE STILL PLAYING PING PONG I hope this was long enough.“

“The atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice. Very friendly and respectable workers. We went on a Friday in lent so that means it was a packed house. The waitresses were hustling. Never did you have to ask them for anything twice. They were on top of their job. The food was fabulous. In our group we had boiled crawfish, shrimp, onions, and sausage. We had chicken tenders and shrimp poboys. Not one single complaint about the food, atmosphere or the hospitality. We will definitely be back.“

“Looked for a sit down crawfish boiler between Ville Platte and Lafayette that was boiling for lunch on a Saturday. Cankton Cafe was one of the few sit down places open and boiling. The place was easy to find with plenty of parking. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the crawfish seasoning and quality was above average. Definitely a small town restaurant worth taking a detour for.“
