“My wife and I recently had the pleasure of visiting Morning Call Coffee Stand in New Orleans, and it was an absolute delight. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with the tantalizing aroma of freshly made beignets and café au lait. The service was lightning-fast, and despite being a cash-only establishment, we were in and out in no time. The staff members were not only efficient but also had a great sense of humor, adding a playful touch to our morning routine. As for the food, it was simply divine. The beignets were light, fluffy, and dusted with just the right amount of powdered sugar, while the café au lait was rich and creamy, the perfect complement to the sweet treats.Overall, Morning Call Coffee Stand provided us with a memorable breakfast experience that perfectly encapsulated the charm and flavor of New Orleans. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this place is definitely worth a visit.“
“Ironic. We went late in the afternoon, walked right in, and sat down. Other times, we've seen a pretty massive line. The service was extremely fast and friendly. The food was good. Just wear clothes you don't mind getting powdered sugar on. It is inevitable you'll get it on your clothes. As a tourist, it was fun to visit and check off our list. I don't think we'd regularly go back.“
“A cute little breakfast place with friendly staff with a very creative selection of donuts. Their breakfast sandwiches are, frankly, amazing. I got a turkey sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit. It may sound weird, but the eggs were the best part. They were succulent and creamy and honestly the best eggs I've ever had on a breakfast sammy. The raspberry cheesecake donut was decadent with chunks of crunchy graham cracker crust and a raspberry astride a raspberry iced donut with light, fluffy cheesecake filling. You can also see the entire cook process, with the baking station in the back, The grill station in the middle, and the coffee station up front next to the register by the door. I enjoyed watching them make kolaches while I chomped on my massive donut. They do have a gluten-free option or two, but I didn't ask about cross-contamination. Highly recommend.“
“I recently tried their king cake and it was great! I have been going to this bakery since they opened and everything is always great and fresh! I had to try their king cake. I bought a plain one and the myself and the family loved it. The owners are always present, friendly, and mindful. I do go often, but I watch how they treat each customer and it’s always exceptional. I drive from Eastbank to Westbank just to come to their place. I highly recommend trying, you won’t be disappointed.“
“Such fabulous service!! I am out of state and I have an Aunt in New Orleans. I was checking to see if anyone needed anything - she said fresh donuts. Long story short - found Blue Dot Donuts on Yelp! Spoke with the nicest young man over the phone and he made her fresh donut wish come true! Thank you so much❤️ She said they were delicious!“
“Ohhh myyyy! I was in town for the weekend and my Uber driver mentioned this place. He was awesome and stopped here so we could grab some donuts. This place is adorable, smells amazing, and it was nearly impossible to choose because they all looked incredible. My favorite was the strawberry cheesecake! Delicious and worth every calorie!!?“
“First time in NOLA, had to hit up Cafe Du Monde for their beignets! It was packed around 5, but the wait was only like 20 mins (way better than I thought). Once we had a table, the service was lightning-fast, and our order was on the table in 10 minutes. Definitely a must-try!“
“There's no better way to cap off a Sunday morning in New Orleans than a visit to District Donuts. As the city buzzes with the brunch crowd post-church, finding a spot that combines ease of access with exceptional taste can be a tall order. Yet, District Donuts stands out as a perfect option for a Sunday afternoon treat! This delightful spot not only serves up some of the most delicious burgers in the city but also a rotating selection of inventive donuts that keeps you coming back for more. On my latest visit, I indulged in the spring beignet donut filled with an exquisite coffee mousse and a cream cheese-filled berry glazed donut. Both offerings were beyond phenomenal, perfectly capturing the essence of spring with their freshness and innovative flavors.District Donuts is a testament to the culinary creativity and quality that New Orleans is renowned for. It's a must-visit for anyone looking for a quick yet utterly satisfying dining experience on a bustling Sunday afternoon. Whether you're in it for the burgers or the donuts, you're in for a treat.“
“This coffee shop is one of my favorites in New Orleans, I always go here when I’m in the Bywater. They have delicious drinks and food here and such a good atmosphere. The outdoor patio is well shaded, large, and perfect for a nice day (though somewhat lacking in outlets), and the inside is filled with local art and good vibes.Vegetarian options: I got a delicious bean and potato and cheese bowl that was very affordable and tasty.“
“The pastries were delicious.I visited New Orleans for three days and started every morning with a freshly made sweet roll and cup of invigorating coffee. The owner and staff were so bright and friendly. Loved the set up and really enjoyed the outside space! Try the satsuma bars too! They’re heavenly! And there is a cute little bookshelf for the kids to check out too! And dog friendly!!“
“Oh my gosh! I stopped in here on a whim just for one doughnut and I was treated to the most excellent amazing, friendly family like service I've ever experienced. The doughnut was fantastic! And I even got a little lagniappe. This is the definition of a family business. They were so so so sweet. I want nothing but good things for this young couple and their cute little donut shop.“
“I love donuts, I love donuts so much I had a dog named donut. Since I was a child going for donuts and coffee has been a favorite family outing. As I've gotten older I've stopped eating them as often because of how decadent donuts can be. Today was my first time eating donuts from Joe's and these were perfect! Although they were decadent they were not over done. The balance of donut to filings was perfect and did not over saturate my palate. Even my husband who can usually only eat one donut had 3. We also got the French fries which were delicious and well seasoned as well as the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were fluffy, flaky and everything you'd want from a biscuit. The sausage gravy was perfectly seasoned and had big chunks of sausage which we LOVED! All the staff we encountered were very friendly and patient especially with my extra wild toddler running amok. Loren at the counter is an absolute delight! Thank you all, we'll be back, especially for the breakfast served all day!“
“They do indeed take credit/debit cards at this location! Just no contactless payments like Apple Pay/Google Pay.Lines were as long as they were any Cafe du Monde. First time eating a Beignet, I thought I’d be a fan, surprisingly I wasn’t impressed. Fried dough is fried dough, and even if you can be impressed with all the work that goes into it from the window (a spinning machine flattening and shaping the dough, the person scattering the powdered sugar and flour, and removing the excessive/misshapen pieces, into a vat of oil), fried dough and sugar is still fried dough and sugar. It hits different than a doughnut, and the powdered sugar makes it better but less consistently sweet as a result. The frozen cafe au lait I had tasted like a frozen coffee from dunkin. There wasn’t a shortage of the coffee flavor but I was just expecting a lot more. Set your standards right and go in for a line.It was, without a doubt, overrated. But the beignets are priced reasonably and staff was great.“
“Amazing lunch and top notice service from Ms Angie and Mr Mike. Ms Angie talked to us and made us feel like family. She was so awesome! She made recommendations and Mr Mike had our meal up in no time flat and even came out to tell us goodbye!“
“Super Tastee Apple fritters and lemon drops ever!As Locals we don’t eat A lot of beignets or Dunkin or Krispy Kreme… Tastee is the original and our go to every weekend. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. They are happy to help grab the donut at the very end of the case if that’s the one you want. The apple fritters are our favorite of all the donuts offered. The fritters are always crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. They have apples sprinkled in too with lots of cinnamon… Delicious! If you are an apple fritter fan make sure you get there before noon as sometimes they sell out and don’t make anymore.Second favorite is the buttermilk drops. See photos. They have a cake texture - taste is vanilla with sweet cream. Crunchy and a little sugary on the outside and soft and delicious on the inside.“
“Just go be fat and greedy. You'll thank me later! Venture off from the classic donuts you're used to and put some stink on that thing! These were delicious! Great craft donuts! My wife isn't a donut person and she indulged and was elated behind measure. "Oh I'm gonna just try a piece of each and y'all can finish them" .....cost me a a grip to hire Ghostbusters and install interior cameras to see who was making them disappear causeci knew there had ti be a ghost and/or intrudef.. It was miss I'll just take a piece. They're that good. THIS AIN'T DUNKIN! Didn't witness service and atmosphere...my wife went in and ordered and come to think of it she had a bag separate from the box of donut goodness. She held out....til death do us but she hiding scrumptious.“
“I really like the place when I walked in I definitely got the girly pop energy and it’s for the girls but the Korean corn dogs I feel like were not it it was greasy if it wasn’t greasy it would’ve been better so if you like greasy food then the Korean corn dogs are for you!!“
“Terrytown Cafe is a MUST. Hot and fresh every time. I live in Delaware, and every time New Orleans is brought up, Terrytown is the first thought in my mind. I recommend it to people before I even think about Cafe du Monde, po boy spots, and other tourist attractions. I will die saying that Terrytown has the best donuts in the world. I truly have not tasted anything better. A simple glaze is my go to!“
“Four years ago, I moved from my beloved Arizona to Florida. Turns out nobody there knew how to make a apple fritter to save their life. Rolled up on my birthday this year and a move to New Orleans. Thought I'd give my all-time favorite sweet treat one more shot. Sure glad I did. These are incredibly, incredibly delicious. Perfect, apple fritters. Yum ... going into a sugar coma.“
“Get away from that overrated corporate chain on clearview and w metairie, and go get legit classic donuts with tons of options. Best chocolate glazed donut, and when you can get a fresh cinnamon twist, it's life changing. Also the staff is always extremely nice every time I go.“
“I’m just here visiting for the first time with my family and Kendrick served our family so wonderfully. He’s one of the kindest people I’ve met and an obvious hard worker. Thank you Kendrick for making my time at Cafe Du Monde so wonderful:)“
“Omg I wish they had one uptown in the city they're so needed in my community the kids will drive their parents crazy to get to this place. The donuts are awesome, the only thing is it's not a regular donut it's and donut not with an amazing twist with different toppings and the hot dogs on the stick is mind blowing Heck I was excited when I was introduced to this location. The service is exceptional and the ambiance is nice please get more games! This place is amazing!!“
“We are from Michigan, camping at nearby Bayou Segnette State Park, had to stop by to try local dining AND "2023 Best King Cakes". Ordered 3 egg grilled shrimp omelette and split it, as well as biscuits, sausage, and gravy; all was GREAT, as was our waitress Dawn. Will definitely go back againParking: Spaces open even during morning rush, + drive-thru“
“I recently just moved to the neighborhood so I was really delighted that I would get the opportunity to visit this wonderful place they have such delicious food. However what I do not like is that they have horrible service and the attitude of the staff is lackluster that it is very confusing when you walk in there as far as directions. That aside they tend to miss plate items simple as meat and bacon I have to keeping me waiting seems that I was number 16 and they call 17 18 19 20 then I became a little concerned they hastily put together my plate where the items did not match my order it was no due diligence in checking the tickets to make sure that the items match with the person actually paid for as if there’s no kitchen manager or it’s just a free-for-all back there seems I’ve worked in the kitchen previous places I can spot the weakness maybe they need a staff that’s more enthusiastic about working at such a fine establishment and if they can appreciate that maybe that whole family dynamic atmosphere that they try to create something that’s really a hindrance to the business model and with overall discourage people who want to return and spend their heart on money so that they can keep this black on establishment on and Poppin but as you can see this is why people say black on establishment suck and black on businesses suck and they don’t give you a type of business and respect that you deserve because Black people suck but as another black person I’m not able to say that because that means that I suck so what a predicament this put me in oh my gosh and bring back the turkey Bacon please.“
“I was in the mood for a cinnamon roll, and a quick search online told me that District Donut was the place to try! The cinnamon roll was unlike any I've had before: it was fluffy, generously filled with cream cheese frosting, and brûléed on top, adding a really delicious, crunchy layer of caramelized sugar ($4.75). It was also huge - it filled the entire doughnut box! I also ordered a Vietnamese coffee, which honestly was disappointing. I'm not accustomed to NOLA coffee shops' use of crushed ice, and I can safely say I am not a fan. There was so much ice and so little coffee, and the coffee itself tasted weak (with no distinguishable chicory flavor)...mostly like condensed milk. In total, I got five sips of coffee - at $4.60 for the cup, that's almost $1 a sip! The shop is tiny, basically a grab-and-go. It has limited outdoor seating, but the seats have seen better days, were sticky with some unknown substance, and were missing slats of wood. We ended up walking across the street to Whole Foods, which has ample outdoor seating. I definitely thought the cinnamon roll was worth the stop in, and given the high quality of the baking, I'd check out one of their more full-service locations in the future.“
“The service was wonderful. We came in pretty late and just before we had gotten there they had a huge catering order and the person told us that it would be a while if we wanted to order something off the menu but she did say that we could have some pastries heated up that were already made and that would be quicker so we went with that option and they were really good.“
“Shrimp plate was BANGING! We went just after 7pm and had to wait a bit for our food but it was worth it. They still had a good selection of donuts as well. When we looked for a place to pick up dinner we saw this place had decent reviews from locals, but the menu was from 2007. Wanted to upload the 2023 version to show prices haven't gone up much and you still get alot of food for your money.“
“Went into this quaint place for the first time, and let me tell you, I'm glad I did! The service was on point, very friendly, attentive, and on top of her game! The food was great, hot, fresh, and good flavor! Coffee was on point as we're the donuts! If you're in the area, make sure to stop in. You won't be disappointed! I will definitely be back again!“
“I only ordered delivery while staying at a hotel in town. The doughnuts were all very pretty and I loved the creative selections. Arrival was fast. Packaging was secure. Breakfast sandwich and "dirty chai" drink were hot. Doughnuts were fresh-enjoyed a bite or 2 of each because I could never decide. Nice treat to start the day. I came back and devoured the remnants of the cinnamon roll for lunch!“
“My babies absolutely LOVE this donut shop! The atmosphere is ALWAYS great, the food is ALWAYS great, and I’ve never had to wait in a line. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A RUDE EMPLOYEE OR A SINGLE FLY IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT (I read other reviews that say these things and I needed to make it known that none of these things are true at all!)“
“Authentic Beignets: This hidden gem serves heavenly beignets—lavishly covered with powdered sugar. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it a must-stop spot.☕ Coffee Delight: Pair your beignets with their dark roasted coffee and chicory. The Cafe Au Lait is a delightful mix of coffee and milk.? Dog-Friendly: Outdoor tables allow you to sip alongside your pooch. Just remember to tie them up outside since table service isn’t available.“
“Stumbled upon this little gem while heading to another activity. It's a local chain serving home cooked like meals. We were here for brunch, and I have to say it was one of the best breakfast meals I have ever eaten. The grits were creamy and done perfectly, and the fried biscuit was melt in your mouth delicious. ? The service was impeccable, and the staff were happy, smiling, and genuine. Can't wait to return.“
“The best donut in town, in my humble opinion! There's a reason their hours are so limited-- BECAUSE THEY CAN BE!!! They're just that good! I'm a sucker for a hot glazed and their buttermilk donuts. Really everything there is stellar. The staff is always super friendly and working their butts off constantly. LOVE BAKERS DOZEN“
