“My husband and I found this lovely spot while camping at nearby Fairview Riverside State Park. When we both retired recently we decided to celebrate our retirements with a return trip to the area, which necessitates a return trip to Abita Roasting Co. We LOVE this little hidden gem…from friendly service, relaxed atmosphere, beautiful setting, and EXCELLENT food, we cannot recommend it highly enough!“

“Just passing through Madisonville, staying at the Fairview Riverside State Park, and we decided to just eat out. So many awesome restaurants around here, but we had a hankering for Thai the moment we saw this restaurant just down the road from the park.What an excellent choice! The food was very tasty! We had the curry fish and the Pad Thai. I'd highly recommend both of them. My only criticism would be that there weren't many shrimp in the Pad Thai (5) and they were pretty small. Aside from that, we'd absolutely recommend this place and would eat there again if we are in the area.I did find it difficult to find a good, updated version of the menu online before ordering, so I'm going to upload one here. “The crawfish balls were so freaking good. I even had a crawfish leg in my ball and I’m not even mad at it. That appetizer was so delicious and well made with good fresh Louisiana crawfish. 15/10 definitely recommend and will be back to try more meals“

“I walked in as a new customer and I left, knowing I would be back. The lady who helped me at the counter when I didn’t know anything gave me soup samples, and tea concoctions to see which ones I would enjoy the most and really was super friendly and took her time to explain everything. It was so hard to choose what soup to have since they were so good so I ordered one there and took some to go. What a wonderful experience and a delightful work staff.“

“I cant say enough about the service and quality of the staff and beers on tap. I met Ian the operations manager. He was very knowledgeable and took time to explain their process from hops to wort, to yeast selections to the finished product. The beers were simply amazing. The chips were thin and homemade which came to the table hot and the salsa was delicious. I got a shrimp taco salad and yuca fries but were fresh and tasty. I'll definitely come back. “Was craving a snow ball on my way home from work and it just hit 7 o clock and all of the snow ball stands were closed that I could find except one. It was a few minutes out my way but i was craving a snowball after the extremely hot day. So since they were open until 8 i gave them a shot. An boy was i glad i did. I’ve had snowballs from what seams like hundreds of different snowball stands. Ive had some of the best snowballs you can find. Being i was raised and lived in New Orleans until i was 24 so ive tried every snowball stand around. So ive seen some reviews saying LouLa’s were good but thats a disservice. When i got my large Chocolate with condensed milk it looked very good but i took that first bite and WOW is what i literally said to myself. Easily one of the best snowballs Ive ever had. The chocolate was perfect and they weren’t greedy with the syrup like some places. The condense milk was nice and thick. The snowball was just perfect. It was just what i was looking for. I just wish it was closer to where i live so i could go all the time. The location itself was great also. They have more then snowballs and if you want it to go or you want to sit outside and enjoy your snowball they have plenty of chairs and tables for you to sit and enjoy your snowball or whatever you order. They have plenty parking space as well. Bottom line. SnowBall A+ Location A+ Service A+ Quality A+ Time Open/Business Hours A+ Overall A+++. If you like snowballs and are in the area or you just want a 5 star snowball then LouLa’s is the place for you! Go see them and get yourself a chocolate snowball w/ condensed milk! “Visited today for the first time. Upon arrival we were welcomed by Greg at the front door offering High 5's, and were promptly walked through the process of how to order and what to expect. Appetizers came out quickly, (which the fried pickles were perfect), and the entrees came out quickly after that and were also incredible. Customer service was phenomenal all around. From the beginning to the end, staff were attentive and engaging. Greg even showed us the wall of hot sauce that is available for customer use. After our meals we opted to purchase some of their sweet goodies that were near the register, which turns out are crafted by someone who works there and were out of this world! Overall, the experience was one of the absolute best we have had at a restaurant. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area.“

“This is a quaint restaurant on the lakefront in Mandeville. I had the Killer Quesadilla with shrimp. It was great. The sweet potato fries were very good. These were waffle fries which added to the crispness of fries. The queso was a little think but was good. Service was good also.“

Now, I am from Mississippi from everyone smiles and is chipper but I was told the Louisiana folks are very straight forward and get to the punch!
And that is just what this little shop does.
Has the cutest souvenirs if that is your thing (it's mine!) and the beignets are good!
We get the frozen coffee and it hit the spot every time.
Our girls are picky and didn't like the beignets, and the asked if it was the quality. That tells me that are interested in the feed back.
