“This place has been around for a few years but I went back last night for a girls night and let me tell you they were amazing . I noticed that they changed the way they plated the food and added a few touches like grilled pineapple & an edible flower . I don’t remember the guys name who served us but it was his first day and he was perfect ! He got all of our orders correct , made all 12 of us our special alcoholic beverages in a timely manner . He was very sweet & friendly . The vibe was perfect ! 10/10 🥰“

The guy taking my order suggested the steak, but actually I liked the chicken even more.

The green sauce they had was FIRE.

BUT I got a chips and queso and I was not impressed. It tasted like melted American. But burnt or something.

But maybe it was just an off day. Either way I would highly recommend this place if you are in Algiers Point!“

We had an issue with our order the other day, and before leaving a bad review or anything we decided to directly call and let them know (not expecting anything out of it but to let them know for future customers). “Visited on Dec 30. Why eat Mexican when in Nola? Because it is world class. Easily a top 5 meal and I have a long list of amazing restaurants visited. I’ll start with the end. Get the desserts. Save room. They are amazing. We opted for both the FLAN and the MASA TRES LECHES. The latter was moist, light and life changing. The flan was rich and fulfilling. The menu is small but MIGHTY. The cocktails were well thought out and varied. We started with the AGUACHILES VERDE and TUNA TOSTADA. Both were fresh, flavorful and authentic. A few bites each for two of us. For the main portions, we chose the CHOCHOYOTES and ARROZ NEGRO. The former is a Mexican influenced play on southern collared greens. More of a side but amazing on its own. A very worthy pair to the main character of this meal, the ARROZ NEGRO. Corn smut sounds terrible but it is delicious. The mussels, squid and shrimp add a Nola flair to this amazing dish. It is very rich and a solid portion. Flavors and texture for days. Plus a bit of umami from the huitlacoche. It is a bit pricy. Total before tip for 2 of us was $250. That included 5 cocktails, 4 dishes and 2 desserts.“

It's not MIND BLOWING, but the tacos are pretty good, if you're tired of the classic food-truck taco. I would recommend trying it if you like tacos in general.“

“We celebrated Mimi and Granny Karen's birthday. And the staff and everyone was amazing. The live music that was there was amazing. The environment is amazing. We're so grateful to El Paso for letting us celebrate my Mimi and Granny's birthday. I wish I could give them more stars. The staff is always as sweet and amazing. “I'm 50+ years old. Have been to countless restaurants in the US and mexico (Cancun 12 times) and the meal I had tonight was the best I've ever had. The cocktails were great. The service was great. Didn't wait long because somehow we were the only 2 people in the place. It was a Tuesday, and we did have early reservations. (4:30) Not complaining cuz I was able to lie to the wife and tell her I booked the entire restaurant for her. (Yes, she knew I was joking) Now, the food was amazing. I already knew what I was ordering but saw the menu of small plates that wasn't on the menu online and decided to try those after eating a couple of the appetizers. Enjoyed every single thing I tried and after the wife tossed in the towel I still went for the Cantonese fried rice. I thought I was done eating until I was told what was in the dessert. Well worth the stomach cramps I now have as I write this review. Happily people start arriving as we were leaving. The best part about being served by him he is very attentive to my table and as the host he did not ask me to go sit at the bar he asked me where I would like to sit. “This place is a little hidden because of the market barriers they have put up but it was SOOOO good. The beans were so tasty and different than what we’re used to. Chips and salsa were great. I had the burrito asada with rice and beans, and it was large enough that I cut it in half and brought the rest home for another meal. Chips and salsa are extra - but the salsa is worth it!“

I appreciate the amount of salt the margs are rimmed with. Try the seasonal cocktails! Our server Braxton was great and kept us hooked up :) We were in town for one night staying at a nearby hotel; we walked here for our dinner and it was the perfect evening!“

“We are huge fans of Pepe’s and dine in and do carry out often. We decided this year to try out their catering for a large family holiday gathering. I can’t say enough great things about them! I wasn’t too pleased with my visit two months ago (which is why I originally left a 2-star review), but I’m back to set the record straight!
I came back last Sunday, and the experience was night and day. The customer service was fantastic from start to finish. I ordered the birria taco meal, and everything was served fresh, hot, and flavorful. The fresh vegetables on the side were absolute perfection, and the pricing was super reasonable for the quality.
Definitely a 10/10 visit this time around—so glad I gave them another shot!“

“I have been coming here for 20 years or close to it. I love the hamburgers, garbage can nachos, spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, spinach and shrimp quesadillas, ribs, and recently discovered the Baja taco with salmon this summer. That’s my favorite go to meal now!!! I usually got a margarita on the rocks with dinner. But changed it up with a watermelon daiquiri with tajin on the rim. Delicious! This was one of my mom’s favorite places too. I sure miss going there with her sharing a hamburger together and having margaritas. Great neighborhood restaurant.“

Starting with the frozen margaritas, through the chips, salsa, queso and table side fresh guacamole and onto the tacos, quesadillas and burritos the food was delicious and authentic. Of course a great dining experience includes both food and service and just like the food the service was top notch. The staff truly made it a wonderful experience.
