“Beautiful area, but the soup is always very salty and it gets really busy. It's best to order online and pick up. They do have a lovely patio but with fake grass :/ and it's usually crawling with kids and rarely an adult.Parking: Not many spots and is usually full“
“These are the most fabulous tacos I've had in years and their only peer in New Orleans is Casa Borega. Skillet fried soft corn tortillas full of fabulous beef and fillings. I tried three sauces the red arbol the red tomatillo and the guaca salsa. All were delicious but the red arbol is what spicy should be. Enough to make you sit up and take notice but not ruin the rest of your meal. This is way far from my house but I will be back.“
“I am in heaven cause it’s taco Tuesday!? The best day of the week at zocalo! Margaritas are even better (every day). This is my new go to place! Forget those other places around come here and ask for Rene’. She the best server!!! Manager Javier is great too!Vegetarian options: They have cauliflower tacos and mushroom tacos. They have many other vegetarian choices.“
“I happened to hear the review on the place on the radio and decided to try it. I’m happy that I did. I ordered theYuca Con Chicharron and chicken tamale. The first dish was larger than I thought, but it was delicious. I haven’t eaten the tamale yet, since I was full from the first dish. But I look forward to doing so later. I got to meet and talk with the father of the business, and it was very pleasant, as he gave me samples of certain foods and informed about why his tortitas are different than others. It was very informative. One of his sons was a chef at Emeril’s, and a New York magazine rated Mawi as a top ten best restaurants in New Orleans. Im looking forward to another visit“
“We stopped at this cute little place on the way back home and they had plenty of ice cream and snack options. We LOVED the churros, they are so fresh and delicious we ate it all before we could get a picture but we highly recommend if you do give this place a try. My son enjoyed his super man ice cream. My mangos with chamoy & tajin was also good.“
“It is absolutely a real Mexican culinary experience. I go there at least once a month. Depending on who's taking your order (unless you speak Spanish) you might have to point to what you want on their menu. And with minimal sign language and a few awkward minutes waiting, you'll definately be impressed by the food.Parking: Parking sucks bc jerks next door won't let anyone in, it's an empty, unoccupied building!“
“I love this place. Their food is delicious and I honestly don't understand why they aren't as busy as they should be ALL THE TIME! Their best items: fish taco and the shrimp flauta! TO DIE FOR! literally melts in your mouth! Also queso, guacamole and salsa - all delicious and the Mexican pizza! Get it all.“
“For a Tex Mex place, I was blown away by the burger and fries. You can't go wrong with it. And you're missing out if you don't get one. The juicy burger with queso cheese, and a little guacamole far exceeds any expectations you have. Seasoned well and served with some slim cut fries. Trust me.“
“Our server (Angie) was refreshingly awesome! She had great recommendations and kept checking on us. The food came out unnecessarily fancy because the taste was 100%! The owners put in a lot of effort into the atmosphere was well, you could tell they’re planning on staying in that location for the long-haul.“
“Always great food. Consistently the same taste everytime that I've been thereParking: Some in front and more across the street. Public parking lot across the cornerKid-friendliness: Great atmosphere. Plenty of decor to look at. Tvs on and a kids menuWheelchair accessibility: Wheel chair ramp into higher level of restaurant. Also a garage door to lower level“
“The lunch menu food was fabulous & reasonably priced. Our party of 6 enjoyed everything: fajitas, fajita rolls, enchiladas, chips, salsa, & bean dip.I'd recommend lunch menu #15-a seafood enchilada & a chicken enchilada with beans & rice. Our waiter, David, was efficient, kind, & humorous. We had a very enjoyable lunch time.“
“Awesome restaurant with delicious tacos and quesadillas. One time my Uber driver stole my order and when I went to pickup the food, Tacos del Cartel remade the whole order on the house! The inside decor is amazing and cozy for couples on dates!“
