“Juan's Flying Burrito exceeded my expectations, even with a DoorDash order. The queso was absolutely phenomenal, earning its spot as a must-try item. Additionally, the Build Your Own bowl was both delicious and incredibly filling—I couldn't even finish it! I highly recommend Juan's Flying Burrito for anyone craving tasty and satisfying Mexican food.“
“Latin American food at its best! Interesting menu and big portions with home cooked flavors. Don't miss the wonderful hand crafted cocktails made with care by the owner himself. So yummy! The wait staff were friendly and attentive. We enjoyed a leisurely dinner.“
“This was a phenomenal dining experience at every level. The tasting was 85pp which is well worth it. The beef tongue was the best I've ever had, it was wildly tender. The tuna steak was similarly killer. Every dish was top notch. (Full disclosure the quail had the feet and my wife was off put, however I didn't mind). The staff was attentive, helpful, and warm. A strong recommend in a city that is already dense with great food.“
“Really cool outdoor space with good food, great for groups and vibey dates. If you want to eat outside, this is a top choice. You order at the window so the service is real quick and easy. Ordered a few tacos, the queso, and a bowl. So the tacos were ok, no real complaints. But the bowl is where it’s at. Beans and rice and guacamole and choice of protein and you can add broccoli and mushrooms. Great meal, really filling and delicious. The queso was unique, I added the chili and it came with pomegranate so it was a mixture of spice and sweet. Also, don’t sleep on the frozen mango margarita. Delish. This’ll be the happening spot as the weather warms up!“
“I really wanted to hate this place. Another hipster gentrifying the neighborhood with their pseudo-ethnic cuisine. This rich boy, Banksy buying, carpet bagger…. I so very much wanted to hate it. But I couldn’t. It was just too good. The food was delicious. The prices were just right. The authentic tile work and gas station bathroom were absolutely delightful. The servers were raw and righteous. The way the owner spoke…. The little frogs…. The whole vibe just felt right. I couldn’t hate it. I loved it.“
“This legitimately is the best Mexican food I've ever had in my entire life. The chicken quesadillas w pico de gallo and the beef gorditas ... are actually life-changing. I will only be ordering my Mexican food from here on out. Wow And the ladies who cooked everything were so kind. Bless you for such a great, delicious meal and thank you!“
“We finally made it back to New Orleans on a day that Casa Borrega was open, so after unloading we walked over and had yet another delicious authentic Mexican meal! We love the atmosphere, food and the musician did a great job as well! We tend to stay with the Mexican street food but you really can’t go wrong with anything they make!“
“I didn’t see any flying burritos … except the one that flew into my mouth!I stopped in here on February 4th 2024 and grabbed a burrito to go (brought it over to Oak St. Brewery). It was Sunday afternoon and the place was packed! There was a wonderful energy to the place.I had their flagship Flying Burrito. It comes with grilled steak, shrimp, and chicken. It was very good, and more that one person should consume at one sitting. But, of course, I ate the whole damn thing! I couldn't put it down!I can't wait for my next visit!“
“3rd coming here and it never fails. The service is the best service anyone could experience. They are so friendly. Valentina was over the top friendly. Made us feel like family. I recommend the arepas they are so delicious. They won me as a client. It’s a must to come here!“
“Just amazing. The queso is the best I've had. So good!!! A bit of a wait if it's busy but well worth it!!!!Vegetarian options: Nit a ton but every dish can have rice and beans and be delicious. Not sure what beans are cooked with but when I asked if it was animal broth they said no.“
“Taqueria Guerrero has never disappointed since it had it. Small place but definitely provides when I'm craving Mexican cuisine. Laid back environment and I've never seen more than 4 other people in there but they do have plenty of takeout orders. The workers are always friendly and patient and the food is good as well. Only things I don't like are that there is barely any parking and I'm not a huge fan of the salsa.“
“Food was tasty. Portions were large. Service was friendly and efficient. Good value. A great addition to Uptown. Side salad with chicken was delicious. Quality tacos - no skimping on filling. My meal was big enough for me to take home enough for a second dinner. It is a new favorite.“
“Our favorite Mexican restaurant in New Orleans. The owners are hands on and make it a treat to support local businesses. Everything we have had is fantastic but the Enchiladas Suizas are our favorite item. Edwin’s margaritas are the bomb“
“Quiet & cute Mexican restaurant tucked away from the hustle and bustle of New Orleans busy streets. The vibe is chill, the drinks are all amazing, and the food is beyond delicious! The owner is very friendly and personable. The staff is very knowledgeable of the menu and friendly. As I was newly diagnosed with celiac disease, it was so refreshing & comforting to find out most of their menu with the exception of their tortas are gluten-free. Definitely while in NOLA a must experience restaurant!“
“I am so upset that this place has been right around the corner from me all these years and I have not tried it till today. It was so good that I didn't even take the time to take pictures. The steak chimichangas were so crispy, hot, and fresh. The best refried beans Ive ever tasted. Also the churros were filled and came with chocolate sauce and left me wanting more. They have earned a new customer. 10/10“
“We came on a Wednesday evening, so it wasn’t busy. Our waitress was great. Food was delicious. We got the fajitas and some margaritas that were delicious. Enjoyed the fresh fruit in our margaritas. Loved that they asked how well done we wanted our fajitas. They came out perfect! Will definitely go back on our text trip.“
“Service is outstanding, prices are reasonable and food is fantastic! Ceviche was perfect and queso was best I've ever eaten. Our table was served fish tacos- fresh and filling, cheese, poblano and chicken enchiladas-full of flavor and made to order, chicken tacos- out of this world. Dessert was a moist rum cake and Mexican Mousse. You can't go wrong here.“
“Staying nearby and drove by a few times and saw it was always busy. Walked up for an early dinner and couldn’t have been more impressed. Great people, great atmosphere and unbelievably delicious food made with fresh ingredients. Also found everything reasonably priced. Very happy that we trusted in our rule of eating where the locals go. How have they not been featured on the Food Network???“
“I was just at Okay Bar for a Persian New Year event and had the best time!! For a Tuesday night at any bar, I wasn't sure what to expect. As soon as I got there, it was music and good vibes flowing out the doors! I had a drink within minutes and into the vibrant crowd I went dancing haha. An amazing Persian food pop-up guest starring for the night called Baba Joon! Apparently they hadn't popped up since last Summer, so the people really came to support! Wasn't sure I'd get to try it with how popular they looked but they moved through the line quickly and I got to try a few dishes! Really glad I made it over to Okay Bar! More than okay with me! :)“
“This is my favorite restaurant. Staff is kind. I order to go from here all the time. It's always ready when the staff says it will be. I think they have the best burritos and pupusas in town, certainly on the West Bank. The fajitas are incredible and fairly portioned for the price. My daughter loves their quesadillas. Took my brothers here when they came into town too, they loved it as well.“
“Came during Happy Hour and got the margs. Them boys are delicious and strong!! Whew, I was turnt after two of them. Our sever was awesome. The $2 Tuesday street taco deal was really great, too!! Nice-sized flavorful tacos with a kick. I totally recommend coming here! ♥️“
“There is never a bad dish or drink here. My favs are the shrimp quesadilla, the nopales tacos, and the happy hour specials ? ?This place is a MUST GO TO in New Orleans, it is typically one of our first stops (we have been coming here since my husband and i were dating and that was damn near 8 years ago). Did I mention that the outdoor seating is both kid and dog friendly????Everything there is delicious. GO NOW.Vegetarian options: The Nopales are killer!!!Kid-friendliness: Large yard for kids to run around in.“
“I was born on Jefferson Highway and after eating the amazing food here I can happily die of a food coma on Jefferson Highway. Portions were very surprising in their generosity. The service was perfect. We didn’t have a single server, it was awesome teamwork. The interactions and conversations were relaxed and welcoming. We are already planning to return.“
“This is as one of the best El Paso's I've ever been to. Possibly the best Mexican restaurant I've even been to. The inside is cute and decorated. Our server was amazing and helpful. We also got 2 for 1 margarita mango and they were a little sweet but I honestly love sweeter cocktails. The food was absolutely amazing, we got the special for $13 steak fajita and barbecue chicken quesadilla. Everything was so fresh and it was a pretty large portion of steak. Food came out really quick in like 10 minutes. Overall I would absolutely recommend you visit despite the other reviews. Maybe it's under new management or they're just doing better in every way possible. Try it for yourself !!!“
“I love this place and have been several times now. The salsa is served warm and is addictive. The birria is on point and the aguachile is so refreshing. The mitcheladas are so good and gigantic with all the takin and chamoy you need. Have yet to be disappointed be this place. 10/10“
“Panchita’s never does me wrong. The camarones a la diabla are spicy, fresh shrimp goodness. The enchiladas are spot on (I like the salsa verde but there’s no bad choice). The queso fiesta is perfection. And just say large to the house margarita. (And why not just go ahead and at least ask about the flan and the churros?)“
“This is a vary small place with great food. The employees are vary friendly. The food is made fresh every day. The Taco Nicaraguans corn tortilla with beef an vary spicy is great.. 3 for $7.80'. Try the Yucca , Spanish pastries stuffed with ground beef is wonderful only $9.00 . And the Flan is great. YouMust go there it has the best food an not pricey.“
“I Always LOVE coming here. The regulars are fun....Always great conversations...and I just can't get enough of Gabby and the Manager Jarrell. They are both so personable and remember not just me but everyone that I saw come to the bar. TY Felipe'“
“Came here for lunch during the work week. Only off street parking so be prepared to parallel park. Nice decor and service. They are diligent and giving you plenty of salsa and chips which is always a great way to start. I got the ceviche as my meal which was well done. Next time I will try their tacos. This is one of the chain location's in the area.“
“100% recommend this placeI tried 2 of each taco and there was not one I didn't like. As a Texas Native and Of Mexican decent I totally give this place all the thumbs up.Parking: This is a food truck, you park and order at the window and they make it for you right then and there.“
“Stumbled accords this food truck as we were looking for something to eat close to our air b and b. This good truck is an absolute best kept secret! Everything we ordered in the group was absolutely delicious and authentic. The carne asada burrito was flavorful and huge. The August Fresca cucumber lime was so refreshing especially with the NOLA heat! It may not look like much from the outside but it's definitely a hidden gem! Best mexican food in town!“
“The $5 margarita and $2 tacos special can't be beat! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars and not 5 is because my grilled chicken was a little dry on my first taco. I definitely say get the tanja chicken instead. The street style el pastor and carnitas are delicious as well. Servers and bartenders are wonderful!“
“I visited El Gato Negro tonight 1/23/24 We had attended my daughter's art showing at the WW2 museum. This is the night that the water pressure dropped in Jefferson Parish. All of our usual places were closed and it was after 8. A friend recommended we give this place a try and I'm really glad we did!! They were SUPER busy earlier because everybody else from Metairie had hopped on over the Parish line like we had. They were more than happy to seat my party of 4 at 8:30 even though they closed at 9. I can't remember our server's name. I do remember practicing my Spanish with her. The food was excellent. I had the Tuesday special of 3 steak tacos. I had mine in the corn shell as opposed to the flour. They were hot and fresh and a flavor explosion. The char of the steak with the fresh cilantro made for a fantastic taco! It was good and good. My wife had these crazy large nachos with chicken and street corn. They put the chips on top so it doesn't end up a soggy mess. The food was on point as was the service. We genuinely appreciated being sat and served so late. I will be back soon. I'm putting them in my rotation. You should too!!“
“We really enjoyed our dinner! The chips and salsa (particular the salsa!!) were wonderful, the margaritas were good, and the food was great! The chicken burrito was delicious!! And the tacos were as well. Definitely worth a pop in if you’re looking for a cool vibe and some good Mexican style “
“The food was very tasty. Our server was attentive and sweet. The first round of chips and salsa was on the house but they charge $2 for each additional round. They didnt seem to have a happy hour, but the margarita was very good. My friend ordered the burger and i ordered a tamale. Large patio, minimal street parking.“
“I went fearful of what I could find, I was looking for Mexican food and I found this oasis, I'm from Houston Tx and never thought I would find the best birria at this place, service was excellent and price very affordable, ambiance was excellent, the place is super nice.“
