“I got a chicken taco, and steak taco. Both were delicious!

The guy taking my order suggested the steak, but actually I liked the chicken even more.

The green sauce they had was FIRE.

BUT I got a chips and queso and I was not impressed. It tasted like melted American. But burnt or something.

But maybe it was just an off day. Either way I would highly recommend this place if you are in Algiers Point!“

We had an issue with our order the other day, and before leaving a bad review or anything we decided to directly call and let them know (not expecting anything out of it but to let them know for future customers). They instead went ABOVE AND BEYOND to correct! Mad respect for the care and customer service given. “Visited on Dec 30. Why eat Mexican when in Nola? Because it is world class. Easily a top 5 meal and I have a long list of amazing restaurants visited. I’ll start with the end. Get the desserts. Save room. They are amazing. We opted for both the FLAN and the MASA TRES LECHES. The latter was moist, light and life changing. The flan was rich and fulfilling. The menu is small but MIGHTY. The cocktails were well thought out and varied. We started with the AGUACHILES VERDE and TUNA TOSTADA. Both were fresh, flavorful and authentic. A few bites each for two of us. For the main portions, we chose the CHOCHOYOTES and ARROZ NEGRO. The former is a Mexican influenced play on southern collared greens. More of a side but amazing on its own. A very worthy pair to the main character of this meal, the ARROZ NEGRO. Corn smut sounds terrible but it is delicious. The mussels, squid and shrimp add a Nola flair to this amazing dish. It is very rich and a solid portion. Flavors and texture for days. Plus a bit of umami from the huitlacoche. It is a bit pricy. Total before tip for 2 of us was $250. That included 5 cocktails, 4 dishes and 2 desserts.“

“Slightly delayed review but who cares. While I no longer live in New Orleans, this is one of my favorite places I’d been to. I still dream of my dinner from NYE 2022 🤤 I believe it was a rabbit mole, which was absolutely 🔥 and the huitlacoche quesadilla. The mole is forever imprinted on my soul!“

“I'm 50+ years old. Have been to countless restaurants in the US and mexico (Cancun 12 times) and the meal I had tonight was the best I've ever had. The cocktails were great. The service was great. Didn't wait long because somehow we were the only 2 people in the place. It was a Tuesday, and we did have early reservations. (4:30) Not complaining cuz I was able to lie to the wife and tell her I booked the entire restaurant for her. (Yes, she knew I was joking) Now, the food was amazing. I already knew what I was ordering but saw the menu of small plates that wasn't on the menu online and decided to try those after eating a couple of the appetizers. Enjoyed every single thing I tried and after the wife tossed in the towel I still went for the Cantonese fried rice. I thought I was done eating until I was told what was in the dessert. Well worth the stomach cramps I now have as I write this review. Happily people start arriving as we were leaving. I strongly suggest to anyone who spent the time to read all my gibberish and go to this restaurant.........................FYI, this is the first time I've ever felt like I needed to write a review.“

It's not MIND BLOWING, but the tacos are pretty good, if you're tired of the classic food-truck taco. I would recommend trying it if you like tacos in general.“

“I must say first, how friendly the host was and to find out he was also my server. Ike was extremely friendly, recommended the perfect nachos, drink and I had an appetizer. The best part about being served by him he is very attentive to my table and as the host he did not ask me to go sit at the bar he asked me where I would like to sit. Being that I was only eating by myself. I got an appetizer and nachos the food was so well plated and I even had leftovers to eat for later on. “This place is a little hidden because of the market barriers they have put up but it was SOOOO good. The beans were so tasty and different than what we’re used to. Chips and salsa were great. Shrimp quesadillas were good! And service was great too. We unfortunately ran into a lot of rude people working in the bourbon st/canal area but this was the BEST service we got!“

“Had to work for Cinco de mayo so my usual spot was a hour wait so I Googled what was near and this gem popped up my order was ready in 15 minutes and they snapped with when they added that lemon. My chicken taco was juicy and my steak was well seasoned!“

“My girlfriend and I came for an early dinner service last week and it was awesome! It was our first time trying out La Caretta, however they had an awesome atmosphere and great food.

We did the fajitas for two, which was a great portion and was very good! Staff were friendly and attentive. Will be back 😁“

“1 million+ stars. Entrees were both delicious. Queso really good with chips and the salsa was a very fine consistency and flavorful. I wish I had more room to eat more. All drinks were so good. I appreciate the amount of salt the margs are rimmed with. Try the seasonal cocktails! Our server Braxton was great and kept us hooked up :) We were in town for one night staying at a nearby hotel; we walked here for our dinner and it was the perfect evening!“

“Just one thing the Sirloin taco 🌮 was very crispy like burnt overcooked. I recommend just have dos sauce 2 spicy and 1 mild.
The white habanero with yoghurt sauce don’t make match with the kind of food of the Carnalito Taqueria.“
