“Really cool outdoor space with good food, great for groups and vibey dates. If you want to eat outside, this is a top choice. You order at the window so the service is real quick and easy. Ordered a few tacos, the queso, and a bowl. So the tacos were ok, no real complaints. But the bowl is where it’s at. Beans and rice and guacamole and choice of protein and you can add broccoli and mushrooms. Great meal, really filling and delicious. The queso was unique, I added the chili and it came with pomegranate so it was a mixture of spice and sweet. Also, don’t sleep on the frozen mango margarita. Delish. This’ll be the happening spot as the weather warms up!“
“Stopped here because the name included rum. And both the rum house and Axel did not disappoint. Quickly seated, and Axel right there to take our order. The tuna ceviche was delicious. We also partook in the spicy rum flight, bartenders choice. And had some tacos with fried plantains. All fresh, all good. Nice atmosphere, fun vibe, solid service. Not bad for picking because of the name of restaurant.Kid-friendliness: We don’t have kids but saw kids here so must be kid friendly“
“It was delicious thank you! Great customer service wasn't rushed super kind and she was willing to add ingredients that weren't even on the menu to accommodate what I was looking for ..we had steak asada and pork tacos both were good but that pork!! ?“
“It's been a little tricky for me to find vegan food in New Orleans. I'm so grateful to have stumbled across this restaurant! I had the cauliflower, the nopalitos, and the mushroom tacos and they were divine! The atmosphere is also wonderful. My mom is on a scooter and she was able to drive right up to a table for dining. What a great experience!“
“Such a cute place! We were going to eat at another restaurant near by, but they couldn’t accommodate. Walked to Vals and they were so quick! The food and drinks were amazing and the staff were so sweet! Definitely want to come back with some friends when I visit again.“
“Quiet & cute Mexican restaurant tucked away from the hustle and bustle of New Orleans busy streets. The vibe is chill, the drinks are all amazing, and the food is beyond delicious! The owner is very friendly and personable. The staff is very knowledgeable of the menu and friendly. As I was newly diagnosed with celiac disease, it was so refreshing & comforting to find out most of their menu with the exception of their tortas are gluten-free. Definitely while in NOLA a must experience restaurant!“
“Pork Belly Tacos were pretty good. I tried them with both the flour and corn tortillas, and both versions were fine, with the corn tortillas holding together quite well without breaking.Guacamole for the chips was prepared simply & classically with just avocado and lime. There are two hidden dining area in the back, which are open-air.“
“Probably as authentic as you'd find around the city + outside of Mexico. I've never been a huge fan of chicken tacos but these were wonderful! So fresh tasting, so simple--like authentic tacos should be. Add in some grilled onions, cilantro, fresh salsa, lime, salt...BUENO! Thank you for bringing a slice of great Mexican cuisine to the city! I will be be back to eat these in the parking lot again!“
“We wandered from New Orleans to Algiers Point via the ferry. As we walked around we came across this gem. We just love the ambiance, the food was top notch and they had good beer. What a fantastic location!! I am a real estate agent and think every neighborhood should be developed like Algiers Point. There is a park for children on the corner across from Barracuda, and near by there is a church and a bar amidst adorable houses. Great location!!We did not get a picture of our food because we were too eager to eat. We just forgot!!“
