“The very first time I came to Sushi Village was in November of 2013. I was working on a movie in New Orleans. Several of the crew members took me to all you can eat sushi dinner.

The restaurant is located in a strip mall in Metairie, Louisiana. Upon entering we were greeted with a friendly gesture from the sushi chef. Being from Japan I appreciated that.

I've had amazing sushi all over the world. I was expecting decent but rather pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. The fish tasted fresh and the rice was perfectly done.

I instantly became a huge fan. I'm not that far away in Florida. It's worth the few hours of driving to savor the delicacies. I'm spreading the word to all my friends here. See you soon.“

“Haven’t ordered from fuji in years. Last time I went I felt like it was a little pricey and food was just okay so never really went back. But we ordered from them tonight and it was so good!! Like really good! Every dish we tasted we just kept saying wow this is really good, wow this is really good. Everything was so fresh and delicious. I feel like the prices were soooo reasonable compared to its competitors!! I do wish there were a few more combo meals or dinner roll combination specials but all in all great! So much better than my previous opinion on fuji, We will order again for sure.“

“Chef Trevor is the kindest! The sushi is Amazing! I recently visited The restaurant for dinner after a long day of school my grandkids. And work myself. We were told by the hostess that there was an hour wait and that there was barely anywhere to sit so she advises that we could sit at the bar which we did the sushi bar that is. After waiting for some time Chef Trevor noticed that we were not being really engaged. He then asked me if the kids and I would like something to drink so what you said yes the hostess one of the waiters chef Trevor’s prompting, served us drinks as well as kept our cups filled Thank you! we were very grateful for the kindness that was bestowed upon us. The Hostess. After advising of the long wait, didn’t offer a drink of water nothing. Never engaged, never updated nothing. It was busy so I didn’t panic. We just waited. Gem hidden in plain sight on Causeway in Metairie. Mr. Seiji lends a creative hand on a variety of fish delivered with joy that it is hard to imagine Omakasa anywhere else. The setting is spare and simple tucked behind little Tokyo restaurant on Causeway Boulevard in Metairie. Keep your decor expectations low but the sushi is spectacular - talent that is difficult to hide.

What we ate:
Omakase menu that included a variety of fish Japanese snapper fresh tuna, fatty, tuna, salmon, king, snapper, smoked cod, fish, soup, Tataki, and a lot more.

Just put yourself in Mr. Seiji’s hands and you will have a spectacular experience.

“I have really high standards for Japanese food and this place exceeds my expectations. The price is really cheap even though the quality is as good as those high-end Japanese restaurants. Very friendly and accommodating staff. I am a tourist and I already came here several times during my visit to New Orleans. Please try it out 💗“

“high quality seafood w/ incredible variety for a good price.
their nigiri sushis are quite large (2x the size of other sushi restaurants) so we eat them in two bites, which feels a bit weird. but their fish is usually very fresh, high quality, and there are so many options to choose from.
i especially recommend the yellowtail, japanese scallop, albacore tuna, and eel nigiri sushis. i also love their salmon skin roll (much simpler than their other rolls and very delicious). sometimes they get really good uni.
there’s no going wrong here, and they also have a large list of very inventive rolls and apps.“

“I came in to place a to go order and the place was swamped with people picking up or trying to eat. Nick was very sweet and attentive to everyone, he offered me water after I was waiting for a few. The food ended up being delicious as well. Definitely will come back to try again!“

“I love asian food and specifically gyudon or beef bowls. This is the worst place to go. The food had absolutely no flavor to it. Extremely disappointed. Go anywhere else.“

“Best sushi. Great service at the sushi bar. Of course the female service always to be in such a rush and it's difficult to get a refill on drinks but the food makes it all worthwhile. After visiting several other Sushi local places that recently opened up in Metairie I really appreciate it going back to Uchi sushi. I suggest you ask them to cut the rolls in more pieces as they are huge! Great place to bring the kids. Mine have grown up going there“

“Shogun is so great restaurant. I love Shrimp tempura appetizer including grilled shrimp. I also love fried rice and rice patties. The manager is so nice and friendly. Service is great and polite.“
