“I have been going to King Wok for a long time now, a fantastic Chinese restaurant in Baton Rouge run by Ann and her family. Supporting local businesses is important to me, and King Wok is definitely one of the best spots in town for your Chinese food cravings.The crab Rangoon was a standout dish for me, perfectly crispy with a deliciously savory cream cheese filling. The sweet dipping sauce complemented it perfectly, and I found it also paired well with their egg rolls.For the main course, I tried the general Tso chicken, which was fantastic. The chicken was perfectly fried and coated in a sweet and spicy sauce, served with broccoli. The fried rice was also excellent, a flavorful mix of egg, pork, carrots, and peas.One of my favorite items was the wonton egg drop soup, a comforting bowl filled with huge wontons and crispy fried wonton chips. It's a must-try.I also enjoyed the black bean chicken, cooked in a savory sauce with onion, carrots, bell peppers, mushrooms, and baby corn. Their lo mein was a great side dish, too.Their lunch special is such an amazing deal, and I was impressed by how fast they were with preparing the food. I always call ahead to place my order over the phone. I highly recommend King Wok for delicious Chinese food and excellent service.“

“Today, I arrived at work a little late because I had to go through mid-city traffic to get to downtown. I tried to pick up lunch at one of my usual Subways Sandwiches shops, but the line was too long. Looking down the mall walkway, I noticed this Chinese eatery, the New China, that I had been eyeing for a while. I noticed that their clientele is varied, so I decided to give them a try. When you walked in, there were four plain tables with chairs. The aesthetics are somewhat outdated, complemented by some graffiti wall art. A few local individuals were dining at the tables. A young, polite Asian cashier greeted me at the register, while I perused the wall menu. She presented me with a menu pamphlet. After a brief glance at the menu, I thought the prices were reasonable. I went with the beef pepper steak and a diet coke fountain drink from the $9 lunch specials. I watched as the cooks prepared multiple orders in the back. They spoke in their native language and occasionally chuckled. It seemed that each dish was prepared to order, taking about 15 minutes per order. However, you could call in ahead of time. While taking my lunch to my office, I wondered if I would be disappointed. When I opened the box plate, I was surprised to see a generous portion of fresh vegetables and meat, along with a nice serving of fried rice. Not oily, the taste was fresh, and lightly seasoned. There was no MSG here, I could tell. I thought to myself, 'Damn, I should have gotten an egg roll.' " Well, next time... Quality and price make it an enjoyable surprise for a quick Chinese lunch and takeout. I intend to return.“

“First time visitor. I was at Sam's and wanted Chinese food. I looked up egg rolls and found Chinatown. I ordered the PuPu platter for a veriety to sample and a small pork fried rice. The serving sizes are well worth the price - I have food for another day. The food is delicious. So glad I ordered a variety platter so I could sample it all. Super good food.“

“First time trying nine dragon in a few years and it was so good and valued very reasonably. Forgot to tell lady on the phone I wanted white rice. When I got there I asked if they had made the order already and if I could still get white rice. The lady said they already did but still gave me white rice on the side for free. Very nice staff.“

“I love to get food from here. The best Chinese I've ever eaten. That's saying a lot from the look of the restaurant. It's small and "humble" but, wow is the food and service great, and the prices are very reasonable!!“

“No wait on a Friday night! Awesome! The lettuce wraps are a must, so good. It was busy, but our waiter in the bar area was very attentive and did a fine job. I guess the only complaint I have is he misheard a drink order, but he promptly corrected it with no hesitation. I suppose you can't be too upset as the noise was from large groups celebrating graduations and birthdays. Great place for a celebration. Our entrees came out quickly and were honestly better than I expected/remember. I had the eggplant, which was unbelievably satisfying. We also ordered the Honey Shrimp which was tasty. Overall a very nice meal.“

“3/7/24 I usually come for the fabulous lunch buffet! For about 11 bucks you can build your own box with classic American style Chinese staples like egg rolls, beef and bell pepper, fried rice, and more! This is the location of the BEST SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN IN THE CITY! I don't know what's in the batter but their version of this dish is leagues above others in town. A light and crisp outer layer and then soft and pillowy and then juicy chicken bathed in a standard red dipping sauce. Out of this world! They also make the best MEI FUN in the city! I just ask for no curry!“

“Decided to try this place bc of the good reviews. Almost chose a different place bc of the negative reviews on google, but it was only 6 minutes away, so we just went for it. My boyfriend got an order of orange chicken, and I got an order of singapore mei fun. Total was $26, which given the size of the portions, was quite fair as it's at least four meals. Both were delicious. The orange chicken had a perfect breading to chicken ratio. Bf said he would've preferred there to be more sauce on the chicken, and the singapore noodles were just a little dry. But they were very fast, fair prices, and still really good. I will definitely be back!“

“I called my order in at 10:38pm. They close at 11pm. The Food was cooked to perfection and ready by 10:50p , the price was reasonable, and the people were very pleasant. I look forward to doing business with China1 again soon. I definitely recommend this restaurant. ??“
