“Love this place. Food and service is GREAT!“

“The negative: Parking lot was small; had a difficult time getting my truck out after someone parked near me while I was dining. Was also there 5 to 10 minutes before I had the waitress’s attention. The positive: Food was absolutely outstanding. Roux was perfect. Remoulade was close to world class; I’ve had it in 5 star restaurants in Vegas that wasn’t this good. Kind of food you travel a bit to get to. I’ll put up with the negatives if that’s indicative of the rest of their menu.“

“This is only the second restaurant review I have ever done, good or bad. Cocha was one of the very best meals I’ve ever had. Yellow curry with skirt steak was amazing, the wine was wonderful, the tres leches was just right, and even the water just tasted really good. Absolute gem in Baton Rouge.“

I’ve driven past this unassuming deli countless times, never giving it a second glance. But today, I decided to stop in around 8:45 AM, and let me tell you, it was a game-changer. The breakfast I ordered was not only delicious but also incredibly satisfying.

The price point is comparable to McDonald's, but the quality and portion sizes are on another level. I was thrilled to see they offer breakfast burritos and pancakes, which I’m definitely trying on my next visit. If you’re looking for a tasty, affordable breakfast spot, don’t sleep on this hidden gem!“

“Outstanding in all aspects! We got to town a little late & stopped in just for a lite bite & drinks. The oysters, black and blue tips & wine were so wonderful we returned after business the next night to try more. Round 2 included the Feta Whipped Brussels, Creole French dip & Duck + Butter beans. High quality steak, cooked right, seasoned well, and at a solid price. We had two cocktails each, an appetizer of tamales, which were awesome, two wedge salads, and shared a 2 lb porterhouse. She was a big’n.

Dinner also came with fried bread that was ridiculously good. The total bill was $175, which feels like it would be closer to $300 at most other steakhouses. The vibe was chill too. We sat near the bar and had a great time. Good wine selections and prices.

“The food was amazing. We enjoyed the Sunday brunch menu which included the French onion soup, fried oyster salad and for entrees we ate the New Orleans Crab Cake Benedict and Short Rib Benedict. The manger was so gracious as to give me a small bottle of champagne to take home since all the desserts were made with chocolate and I am allergic. We will definitely be back for the dinner menu. Fantastic table side service, beautiful ambiance and excellent master chef food.“

“Wow! First time ever at J. Alexander’s and hands down the best steak I’ve had. My family and I came in for a pre Valentines Day dinner. We had the NY Strip, Sirloin & fries, Chicken tenders & the Prime Rib with smashed potatoes…so delicious. Server was nice. But the food and presentation was exquisite. We will be back!!

Update: Came back again and had another wonderful experience! Tried the Palermo Chicken this time. It was AMAZING!!! Super sweet server and great tasting steaks and chicken!“

“I've gotten breakfast and lunch here a few times and I enjoy their food.

Wish their hours were a bit longer (such as dinner hours) because I really enjoy the food but I'm happy to stop in for lunch every once in awhile.“

“We stayed at the hotel a couple of months ago when we dropped off our oldest at school. We decided to grab a late night bite and some drinks before going back to the room and let me tell you it didnt disapoint!!!! The red fish plate was delicious!! The bartender was very friendly and even made me a lavender drink bc I had told him I loved anything lavender. I have been craving the red fish ever since we came back to Dallas and want to go back to just for that specific plate. Everything was good the fish, mashed potatoes the only thing was the asparagus needed a little more seasoning but that was about it. I highly recommend this little place“
