“Pigeon and Whale was incredible. We live on the West Coast and are spoiled with amazing seafood but we were blown away by every dish. The whole atmosphere is vibrant and feels like a treat for all the senses. Our server (I think it was James?) was delightful and expertly guided us through our order. A HUGE shout out to the bar staff for concocting and offering complex and unique non-alcoholic cocktails. This was such a welcome departure from the lazy treacle that most restaurants pour. We had a great date night and this is a real standout in a city full of spectacular restaurants.“

The drinks were tasty and well-crafted, and the apps were light and flavorful. Just note that they’re definitely small plates—perfect for sharing, but I’d say 4 people max per dish if you’re splitting.

“We had so much fun we needed a to-go container for all the leftover fun. We always wanted to stop in and are happy we finally did. We went on Tuesday night and they had fresh boiled crab right out of the water. One thing led to another which led to Karaoke thanks to the aggressive hospitality of Jack and bartenders. The regular crowd were friendly and welcoming. They lost their sign to Ida but there's no shortage of cold beers, cold air-conditioning and friendly atmosphere. Make sure you donate to the sign fund!“

This is a spot that won’t ever make the top bars of New Orleans list but if you want to come and get a real, authentic New Orleans experience with people from here then this is the spot to go to. Julie, the bartender was so amazing. One of the sweetest, kindest people I’ve ever come across in my life. Her sister Stella hangs out there too and is just as incredible. The crowd of regulars was so incredibly friendly. Some of the kindest people you’ll ever find. Julie even cooked us up 2 home cooked meals served fresh right at the bar. Best meals we had on the whole trip. I promise go here for the food!!!!! Julie/Stella we love yall so much! Thank you for such an amazing time and being so welcoming. Love Kyle and the Boston Boys!“

“I do indeed like this little hotel bar.

I’ve been wanting to visit and tonight was the night it finally happened.

Upon walking in, I noticed this spot is an actual lounge. There are board games, tv’s , a pool table— I love that vibe. Stopping in on a Friday I knew jt would be slow as Fridays in the city can be slow at hotel bars, everyone who is in town is most likely on Bourbon or other parts the city and not the bar at their hotel. I can’t remember the bar tenders name but he was kind and friendly. Although the drink I wanted to order couldn’t be made due to out of stock ingredients, I enjoyed two glasses of champagne.

Service, great!
Food, I can’t judge because the kitchen was closed.
Location, perfect.. CBD, two blocks away from Bourbon.
