“If I could give a 10 star rating, I would! The other day was my best friend's birthday. She & her significant other were having a late lunch at Cate Street Seafood Station, as that is one of her favorite spots. I live in Orlando, FL and couldn't be there. I called the restaurant and Silas answered. I told him I wanted to surprise my friend and send her a special dessert for her big day. He instantly seemed excited to help and was so kind. I described my friend to him and he said, I will look for her. He took my number so he could call me back for credit card info, once she chose her birthday dessert. He found her quick. Suddenly, I received a text from my friend who was so tickled. Once he served her dessert "Happy Endings," (he also included a candle), he then called me back and we took care of business. I wanted to add gratuity for his sweet hospitality, but he refused. I was speechless. He took no credit or reward. Quintessential hospitality! My friend called me later and said that made her day. Thank you, Silas, for helping create such a joyful moment for my beautiful friend. I hope I'll get there one day to meet you.“

“This is probably only my 6th time eating here, but I really wanted to take a minute to give this place some praise. Since they don’t have a comment/survey option, a (public) google review will suffice and perhaps help to bring more people to other door. I do hope this business finds great success as I believe it is well-deserved. I am beyond impressed with a fast food chain for “Louisiana” food that can actually produce really delicious versions of my down-home favorites. Although dining out (even fast food) is a bit out of my budget most of the time these days, I do find them to be reasonably priced. Additionally, the staff at my Hammond location has also been so very courteous and friendly every time. And, they really are FAST food, but it is real food, real beef, real fish, and shrimp and sausage, actual quality ingredients, not just processed mush shaped to pretend to be real food. So far, I’ve tried and can recommend their fried catfish, French fries, hush puppies, homemade onion rings, hot roast beef poboy, red beans and rice, and their gumbo. Each of these items could stand head to head with my other local eateries’ versions, but what is extra surprising is that they have pulled this off in a drive thru chain restaurant format. Kudos to the founders and kudos to your Hammond staff! Thanks for the yum!

Dietary restrictions: As much as I’m impressed with this place, since google asked, their dishes can be too salty for my very salt-sensitive (& medically restricted) father’s palette. However, I do not share that opinion.
Also, in case you’re not from Louisiana and reading this review, I generally don’t think of Louisiana food as being super friendly to dietary restrictions, but I haven’t reviewed this establishment’s menu options with this question in mind.

1. Do you like potatoes and/or poboys?
2. Do you like being hungry?
3. Do you like affordability?

If you answered yes to #1 great they have so many great and unique options to choose from! If you answered no to #2, that's great because this place will leave you Stuffed! for sure after your done. The experience made me a couch potato! Haha. The best part is if you answered yes to #3, then you gotta check them out! For everything you get, you will still have enough left over to get some dessert. So grab your keys and start heading their way!“

“Jeanie’s restaurant feels like a warm hug every time we go. It perfectly embodies southern hospitality and delicious soul food. I’m pregnant and had a craving for shrimp and grits yesterday, and even though it’s not on their menu, they didn’t hesitate to offer to make it for me. “We are forever customers! Not only is the food amazing and the staff top notch, East of Italy goes out of their way to accommodate guest. “Our family purchased food from here this weekend and it was really good. I highly recommend using gloves when peeling crawfish/crabs from here. All of our hands were BURNING and the only thing that helped was burn cream. I eat crawfish often and this has never happened before.“

“Only place around that has 93 octane NON-ETHANOL fuel...I've confirmed this to be 100% pure gas as per my ethanol sensor readings always show 0% when filling here, this makes it ideal for filling up your classic vehicles, motorcycles, getting mower gas, and boats. Recently it appears the owners have sold to someone else, I'll have to recheck my readings to make sure it's still ethanol free. I harp on this hard because one station sold me "NON-ETHANOL" that wasn't non, and it destroyed 4 fuel systems on some of my vehicles.“
