“My brothers and I recently had the stuffed seafood daily special. The food and experience were much more than we expected. I had phone-ordered three lunches to-go but, changed our minds after walking into the restaurant. We decided to stay and eat in the great atmosphere. We're looking forward to our next trip there for more food and atmosphere.“

“i had the catfish dinner and let me tell ya'll, I have been eating, catching,cleaning and eating catfish since I was a baby(didn't start cleaning them til I was 7), and Knotts Cajun Cafe knows how to do it right! It is not overcooked, the seasoning is right on and it's not to salty! ( like alot of places) I will dang sure to stop by every time I am in the area!“

“My husband and I travel to southern Louisiana the first weekend in May every year to partake in the crawfish festival. As a result, we like to dine at as many local establishments as possible and we always try to give an elaborate, detailed review. Let me preface this by saying I come from a family that owned a restaurant for 24 years and I have high standards. Since we come to town for crawfish, that is usually the first thing on the menu. It is not my favorite, but my husband loves it. So he ordered the crawfish(platter I think) which was a couple pounds with corn and potatoes. We were offered regular or spicy. Right here is where things get different. We eat a LOT of crawfish down here and we do our own crawfish boils. You can choose “spicy” and obtain that by leaving them in the pot for a few extra minutes to soak up the seasonings and they will be “spicy”. However, there are a few places that try to obtain the “spicy” by adding a powdered heat to it after they have been removed from the pot. If you like that way, that’s fine. We do not. We find that all it does is get all over your hands and face and really doesn’t add very much flavor to the meat at all. Each to their own. On the flip side. The crawfish were cooked and presented well and they were priced right. I had fried catfish. This too presented its own problems since it was brought on a basket, but I didn’t receive any napkins, a plate, or a fork. I did go and ask for them and received all of them. I realize that most people are ok to eat certain things with their hands, but I am a nurse by trade and I know what is lurking around on people’s hands. There will never be a day when I will eat anything with my hands. On the flip side. The catfish was phenomenal!! It was seasoned to perfection! Cooked exquisitely well and served hot! On a scale of 1-10. I’d give them a 7.5. It was good. The things they did good, they did really good.“

“Food I have picked up to go has been great. The chicken cracklins were warm with a light crisp, the boudin was meaty with good flavor, the fried ribs are always our favorite to chew on, the meat pie (meat) is really good and the crawfish pie is my hubby's favorite. Outside, the fuel pumps are roomy and easy to operate. The diesel pumps on the side are very convenient for my hubby's dually. The staff has been really nice and Mr. Hebert is always accommodating if something is needed. Overall, we give it a great review and we're excited they have come to Jennings to open their business“

“First time visit, found the place clean and the staff very helpful. Ordered a Barbeque Brisket potato with the potato almost football size and a nice thick layer of Brisket on top. Too much food for one sitting! I have enough for a second meal. I will continue to return and bring others as well.“

“Food was great, they were out of a few menu items but find a good replacement as we did order the Daily Special. Alot of food for the price so great bargain. Wasn't packed but kept a steady stream of customers while we ate. The waitress was friendly and hospitable. It's exactly what one would expect from a hole-in-the-wall kinda place. Food was spicy but I expected that. Will stop when we pass thru again.“

“We had a reservation for a party of 11 including 2 children. The atmosphere is chill and nice. The manager and waitress checked on us several times. Overall was ok and the service was great but the food was average. The portion size was nice but my chicken florentiene was bland. It came with garlic mashed potatoes which I enjoyed and as the other side I got rice dressing; it needed more seasoning and was just basic. The entrée itself was fried and mostly breading over a small chicken breast. It could have used more seasoning but putting the spinach and sauce over the chicken made it a soggy mess. There weren't many thing on the menu that I desired so I settled for this. I only went to this restaurant because of my dad's birthday dinner but I prefer Infusion (better food) or the Lil pizza spot. Probably won't be back.“

“The brunch was “the bomb”! Celee our waitress was quite pleasant and very helpful with choices of mimosas. Love love love the blood orange mimosa!!! Manager Chris was really nice and offered great advice on table reservations on our next visit. Overall I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. Would recommend to all.“

“I came here for the first time last week and ordered the deluxe club sandwich. It was excellent and I even struggled to finish it. The staff were excellent, they were genuinely interested in speaking to me. I am here for the summer from the UK and would definitely like to return before I leave. We were a party of 3 and the 2 others in my party visit the restaurant frequently and recommended we eat there and I was not disappointed.“

“First time visiting today, 7/10/23 and so glad we did! I had the Tony Chachere on Focaccia an d my sister hand the Marilyn Monroe. We both loved them! I’ve never had Focaccia bread so soft and delicious before. It was very hard to choose from all the wonderful sandwiches and I’d definitely go back again next time I come back home to Louisiana for visit.“

I came here for the first time because Lumber Jacks (another eatery I wanted to try seemed to have been closed for good).

I saw chicken and sausage gumbo on their menu, but they ran out.

I tried the shrimp stew. It came with corn and potato salad. It was good.

We also tried the fried catfish (2 pieces), and I really enjoyed the piece I tasted.

If you are ever on Moss St. and looking for a plate lunch, the Lunch Box might fill the void.“

“Ordered the seafood platter and a cup of gumbo. The seafood platter and etoufe was very good! The gumbo had good flavor but for $10 it had roux which was delicious and 5 tiny shrimps plus the bowl of rice, I like pepper , onion and celery this had absolutely no veggies! Please add a little more meat! And some veggies!! They are cheap and make a world of difference ,We will be back just make it better.“

“My food came out cold. I had the BBQ brisket. Sides were; potato salad, baked beans, rice dressing and a roll. I didn't receive my roll, rice dressing and brisket were cold. I mean cold like sat out of the heat for 15 minutes. We waited over 40 minutes for our food and it wasn't overly busy. Waitress tried, but first didn't bring plates for shareables, didn't bring utensils for meals, never got my BBQ sauce, and that was on her. I understand the food coming out was the kitchen not her, but the rest was. I got tap water for my drink and the bill listed my drink as 2.99 when we complained she reduced it to 89 cents. For tap water.
An apology wasn't offered, no assurance of our food coming. My brother in laws food came when others were finishing. It was a mess. I really doubt I'll be returning. It was a disappointment. It was only our second time eating there. The first time service was just as bad. It's a shame. A lil town like cankton needs these mom and pop places. But poor customer service has no excuses.“

Our waitress was new but she made it very clear that she was new and kept apologizing when we asked a question that she didn’t know. However, she didn’t say “ I don’t know” and left it at that. She would say “I’m so sorry I’m not sure but I will go find out” so that is impressive! Will Fontenot sounded great on the piano also! Will definitely be back.“
