The food, especially the ribs, are absolutely great. Kind of remind me of mission barbecue.However, I will note that this place is also much more expensive than mission barbecue. Two people, two meals, two drinks came up to around sixty four dollars.“

I came here for the first time because Lumber Jacks (another eatery I wanted to try seemed to have been closed for good).

I saw chicken and sausage gumbo on their menu, but they ran out.

I tried the shrimp stew. It came with corn and potato salad. It was good.

We also tried the fried catfish (2 pieces), and I really enjoyed the piece I tasted.

If you are ever on Moss St. and looking for a plate lunch, the Lunch Box might fill the void.“

“First time visit, found the place clean and the staff very helpful. Ordered a Barbeque Brisket potato with the potato almost football size and a nice thick layer of Brisket on top. Too much food for one sitting! I have enough for a second meal. I will continue to return and bring others as well.“

“Gave this place a try. I had the House Special Fried Rice. It was really good but wow it had some spice. Not to much but didn’t expect it since I wasn’t asked if I wanted spicy or mild. “Their crawfish are the best tasting- seasoned inside and out perfectly. The crawfish are huge but not hard to peel. Their boiled shrimp are large and are also seasoned perfectly. Their prices are good and the staff is friendly.“

“i had the catfish dinner and let me tell ya'll, I have been eating, catching,cleaning and eating catfish since I was a baby(didn't start cleaning them til I was 7), and Knotts Cajun Cafe knows how to do it right! It is not overcooked, the seasoning is right on and it's not to salty! ( like alot of places) I will dang sure to stop by every time I am in the area!“

“Looked for a sit down crawfish boiler between Ville Platte and Lafayette that was boiling for lunch on a Saturday. Cankton Cafe was one of the few sit down places open and boiling. The place was easy to find with plenty of parking. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the crawfish seasoning and quality was above average. Definitely a small town restaurant worth taking a detour for.“

“Food was great, they were out of a few menu items but find a good replacement as we did order the Daily Special. Alot of food for the price so great bargain. Wasn't packed but kept a steady stream of customers while we ate. The waitress was friendly and hospitable. It's exactly what one would expect from a hole-in-the-wall kinda place. Food was spicy but I expected that. Will stop when we pass thru again.“

“Husband and I Extremely pleased! Stuffed shrimp -huge! Tasted the same, same recipe, that they did since I was a child. Husband got the Super Gumbo. Tons of crab, oysters, crab fingers and shrimp, sausage. Service was great as our waiter, Sidney, was attentive! Thank you Sidney for a great experience.

“Ordered the seafood platter and a cup of gumbo. The seafood platter and etoufe was very good! The gumbo had good flavor but for $10 it had roux which was delicious and 5 tiny shrimps plus the bowl of rice, I like pepper , onion and celery this had absolutely no veggies! Please add a little more meat! And some veggies!! They are cheap and make a world of difference ,We will be back just make it better.“
