“During a recent visit to The Lunch Box, a quaint diner known for its Louisiana dinner with creole dishes, my husband and I had an enjoyable experience overall. The Lunch Box has a unique and nostalgic ambiance, adorned with various lunchboxes that instantly took me back to my childhood. It seems to be a popular spot, especially among locals and older patrons looking for a quick and affordable lunch.
I opted for the shrimp po' boy, which was decent and flavorful. I'd rate it a 3.75 out of 5. My husband tried the fried pork chop special. Although it had good flavor, the pork was a bit dry, so we would rate it a 3.25 out of 5.
The standout feature of our visit was undoubtedly the friendly and welcoming staff. They were attentive and added a pleasant touch to our dining experience. While the food had its ups and downs, the overall atmosphere and service made it a worthwhile visit.
If you're in the mood for some creole dishes and a trip down memory lane with its unique decor, The Lunch Box is worth checking out.“

“Started buying crawfish/shrimp from here when they were on Verot. Now I have to drive further to get to Carencro but I won't buy them from anywhere else. The flavor and spice are the best and I'm hooked! The crawfish/shrimp combo is my go-to.

“Consistently good crawfish, shrimp, potatoes and corn. We've been ordering for 8 or 9 years and keep coming back. Sure, you get the occasional bad potato or crawfish but those are the exceptions. We usually get the 6lb combo once a week during the season. No other restaurant can come close to getting that amount of business from us. And the claws on their crawfish....easiest peeling I've ever had.“

“Went for a late lunch. Waitress was awesome. Had the hamburger steak with fries and twice baked potatoes, sitting at the bar. Food was excellent. Gravy for the hamburger steak was thick and great tasting. It was a great experience. Thanks!

“Gave this place a try. I had the House Special Fried Rice. It was really good but wow it had some spice. Not to much but didn’t expect it since I wasn’t asked if I wanted spicy or mild. “We stopped here on a hunch going to Gulfport because there was a line of cars I ordered a shrimp po'boy and wings and fell in love before I drove out of the parking lot... long story short on the way back to Texas I stopped again for the same order. Lots of shrimp on the po'boy and the chicken was perfect“

“What a great place. My wife and I were visiting family in sunset who had just moved there and we were looking for a place to eat. Everything was fantastic and the entertainment was awesome. The chicken and shrimp were some of the best I have ever had. Looking forward to our next visit. 10 stars“

“Ok I need to wright a review with 200 words so I chose this place thing is tho I’ve never been here don’t even live here but the places name is cool “swankys Downtown” W name very cool I don’t even know what the got here but it’s probably good. Anyway ima tell a story about my pain when trying to play ping pong, ok so me and my dad where at the worlds second largest Marriott very cool place 10/10 but I wanted to play sum ping pong so I went down to the pool but there where people playing so me and my dad went up to our room. The next day we went to go get breakfast and when we came back, the same two people where playing ping pong now thing is they aren’t GOOD they aways miss the ball like how can that be fun. The NEXT DAY THEY WHERE STILL PLAYING PING PONG I hope this was long enough.“

“Food was great, they were out of a few menu items but find a good replacement as we did order the Daily Special. Alot of food for the price so great bargain. Wasn't packed but kept a steady stream of customers while we ate. The waitress was friendly and hospitable. It's exactly what one would expect from a hole-in-the-wall kinda place. Food was spicy but I expected that. Will stop when we pass thru again.“
“Ordered the seafood platter and a cup of gumbo. The seafood platter and etoufe was very good! The gumbo had good flavor but for $10 it had roux which was delicious and 5 tiny shrimps plus the bowl of rice, I like pepper , onion and celery this had absolutely no veggies! Please add a little more meat! And some veggies!! They are cheap and make a world of difference ,We will be back just make it better.“

“Can't argue that whatever you choose will be good. Always enjoyable service and people. I know it's been around for a long time but doesn't have to look like it. If I'm around I definitely will be stopping by but not really going to go out of the way.“

“I like the store but my friend was behind someone at the food counter and they served them but didn't come help my friend. It's like they just were to busy to help. We were only ones in the business n there were 2 people standing behind the counter doing absolutely nothing. I won't even stop at that Go Bears again. I might stop at the one across the street like I usually do, maybe! ?“
