“I'm a big pub-food guy, and this place is my go-to for that nowadays. My favorite is the skillet cornbread and the *very* beefy chili which is served with chips and sour cream. The staff have always been prompt and friendly. The only downside is that it fills up most evenings, but I guess that's the best problem to have. Just make sure you have a reservation of be willing to wait a bit at prime times“

“Solid food but I wanted to give a shout-out to a fantastic trivia experience! Trivia can be a toss-up. I've gone to others in the Boston area where the questions were impossible (to the point where not a single person got it right) or the sound was deafeningly loud (to the point where my watch registered a dangerously high decibel level and was basically telling me to GTFO to save my hearing). The trivia set-up at Town Tavern was perfect. Three solid rounds of questions, different categories to keep things exciting, a great trivia master. For people with sensitive ears, the noise volume was perfect. I could hear everyone at my table. It was the most fun I had at trivia to date. Food-wise, you can't go wrong with the bar food. Our table split an order of onion rings (really enjoyed the sauce) and my chicken Caesar did the job of making me feel healthy-ish. Which of course I then undid by basically inhaling a slice of the basque cheesecake on my own. Loved the wedge fries here, I may get just an order of that for myself next time. Prices were pretty affordable. For a group of eight that ordered drinks and desserts, the total came out to about $183 before tax/tip.“

“Such phenomenal food and great prices and super friendly staff. We got the surf and turf, shrimp scampi, potato skin appetizer, and tiramisu for dessert. The seafood was incredibly fresh and huge portions. The surf and turf had plenty of lobster meat as well. Highly recommend all dishes.“

“We stopped by here because everything around us was closed at 10PM. The drinks and food were awesome. They have a big selection of cocktails you would never think of trying. Their deviled eggs were so good and the bratwurst sausage was delish. Service was really great. Everyone is extremely nice and welcoming. We came back for a second round the next day!“

Soft brioche like bun that actually fits the burger . I was blown away . Also one of the few places with Harp on tap . “I recommend anything but the calzones. I’ve ordered food a bunch of times from Franco’s, a few times in person and 3 times via Grubhub. All 3 times I ordered through Grubhub I chose a calzone. The first time the calzone was cooked fantastically, but the last 2 times it was raw dough in the middle where the folds are. The last time I ordered a calzone which happened to be raw in the middle I just threw it away because I didn’t have time to make a complaint. I ordered another calzone tonight hoping it was just a fluke (New cook? Just super busy and overlooked? Whatever, we all make mistakes NBD) since everything else in my order was perfect. When it arrived I checked the calzone and it was raw again. I made the decision to call the restaurant to let them know and to see if I could send it back for something different. The man on the phone told me I was wrong and that he cooked it himself and it wasn’t raw because “he checked”. I told him it most certainly was raw and that I was hoping for an exchange. He said he couldn’t do anything for me and I’d have to call Grubhub about that. He said I’d have to go in person to exchange it. I said “okay fine I guess I’ll call Grubhub” and then he said something I couldn’t understand and hung up on me. I’m really disappointed. I frequent Franco’s for karaoke and spend money at the bar and restaurant often enough to expect a fair exchange and some decent customer service when I need it. I asked for his help and he offered me nothing. Order anything else but the calzones unless you like your dough to be raw, I guess? I HIGHLY recommend the jalapeño poppers though. They’re always perfect and a surprisingly good size.“

“I have a sodium restriction and they accommodate very well. I check my medical stats today and no change. This shows that they didn't use sodium items on my food and still made it flavorful I loved the Haddock, Fries well needed ketchup and the coleslaw had to be made on site just by the creaminess and the freezing lemonade was unforgettable.“

“Yup. Believe the hype. Came on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed to the gills, yet I got a seat at the bar, a beer, and my food super fast. Sports bar atmosphere. Nothing fancy, because the focus is on the food. I went for trad wings and some extra hot boneless. Boneless might have had a tad too much breading that made them fall apart a bit, but the flavor was 9/10. The wings on the bone though were the best I've had in a long time. Very traditional. Perfect fry, perfect heat, perfect acid, perfect size, perfect moisture. They know what they're doing with these. 11/10“

“Robyn is a fantastic waitress with a great personality! Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday’s, ask for Robyn! The food was too much for human consumption in one sitting, but I am sure the guys enjoy a big meal at lunch time! Those burgers are made for men! ? If I was a mystery shopper, they exceeded customer service, clean restrooms, good food and a host that made us laugh upon entry! What a great team you guys have!Parking: They have a small building in the huge parking lot. You shouldn’t have trouble finding a spot!“

“Friendly staff, including folks I know from High School, relaxed atmosphere, and tasty pub food. Highly recommend the BLT plate, and their Burgers are delicious. Definitely get their sweet potato fries, those things are addictive. Can be a bit busy at times, but it’s a down to earth local bar/pub. Good for a night with that family, or watching the Pats. They also have a large variety of drinks and spirits. And they will occasionally have live music on the weekends (local bands)Kid-friendliness: I see a lot of families come in for lunch on the weekends. Pretty chill place for families, and staff our friendly.“

“The problem with great family restaurants is they are often "packed". That is the case here. TJ's IS a great place. The burgers are simply out if this world. Their dinner menu is very varied and offers a bunch a great options. I have tried several and have not been disappointed. The food IS good, but as important, the price is just right. In today's world too many restaurants are over charging (AND under paying the staff!) but not here. Alone, a date night or a big group, you can not ho wrong here. Only warning is they are soooo hood and popular that at key times and holiday times they are busy.Steve“

“Stopped in with a crew of tired hungry kids on our way back to N.H. From Great Wolf Lodge and we were very satisfied with our stop! The staff was wonderful, our food was absolutely delicious, and the checkout time was very quick which is what we needed since we were heading home. Overall, excellent experience. Will eat again!“

“As usual the food was great and the service exceptional. But also as usual the noise level was so loud as to make conversation nearly impossible. It was physically painful for my mother who uses hearing aids. And she still couldn't hear what anyone else was saying.“

“We stopped in for a quick bite on a Thursday night. The bar was lively and the dining room not overly crowded. The food was great I had one of my favorite things a bacon chicken ranch wrap and it was exactly what I'd want from it. We also had the southwest chicken egg rolls which were very tasty as well. One downside is it seems to be only booths in the dining room so if that isn't your thing it could be an issue. The biggest issue is that the hours have always seemed to be a moving target and I get that to some extent in the post COVID world but a large part of why it took us a year to get back is we often dismiss as they might not be open. Overall though a solid local pub I'd like to have in more frequent rotation.“
“This place is no doubt one of the finest place in the neighborhood. Every time I visit this place I am greatly happy. They keep their high level service and the topmost level of meals they provide. You are always happy with this place. Highly recommended.“
“Nice local club with friendly staff. Street parking sucks but there's a large lot on the Harvard Ave. block behind the shops. Didn't have anything to eat there so can't rate them on it. Most of the bands were excellent. I would definitely reccomend and return there as they feature noise, industrial, post punk and experimental acts. My kind of place! $15 at the door. Draft beer priced reasonably.“

“Good burgers! I ordered the avocado burger with fries and it hit the spot. Not a ton of space inside and they don't take reservations less than 6 as a FYI. We came on a Friday night and walked around Downtown after putting our names on the wait list. Friendly staff and overall good experience!“

“The local watering hole nearby changed owners, so all the people I came here to avoid now eat here. Oh well, thats not the restaurants fault.lt's a fairly standard Irish themed bar with a long bar, lots of beer varieties, and a wide food menu selection. Service is either really awesome with an enthusiastic wait staff, or so-so with one specific person who seems inconvenienced to be open.Favorites here include the appetizer combo, Mac & cheese (sometimes Buffalo and other flavors are available seasonally), the Galway burger, the Shepards Pie and the Beef Stew.“
“Great low-key atmosphere. Excellent variety of drinks. Friendly staff with a focus on safety and cleanliness. There are an assortment of sports on screens throughout the establishment, so whatever game you're looking to watch is always available for viewing. They have Keno and lottery for additional entertainment. Music plays at a pleasant, audible level, to set a fun mood, but it's not so loud as to interfere with conversation. My ears don't ring when I go home from here. It always makes my night when Elisha is tending bar. Convenient parking.“

“Fish and chips were excellent. He was nice to have a fresher fish that cooked up flaky. The apple pie dessert was okay, although I was expecting a little more of a deep dish with ice cream on top. The thin piece of pie definitely was good but just light“

“I frequently go to the Tavern for lunch. The food and service are always outstanding. My favorite sandwich is the blackened chicken. It has a nice bite to it. It's a quaint tavern. Very clean. I want to commend the owner and his staff on how professional they were yesterday with some patrons who could not control their kids. The moms were too busy drinking their wine to pay attention to the kids. The owner approached the table and asked the kids very politely to please sit down as they were very load and disruptive to those nearby. He even offered to move us as we were sitting right next them. When the women left they had their kids bang on the windows and stood by laughing. I work in the restaurant business myself and I was very impressed with the owner and staff as they tried their best to make our experience at the tavern the best that it could be under the circumstances. Thank you for another wonderful lunch!!!“

“This was my first time visiting a 99 Restaurant. I ordered take out. Ordering online was easy. They have dedicated stalls for take out pick up. I was waiting for my pick up time and was surprised that someone delivered my order to my car. Awesome!I ordered the Backyard BBQ Combo. My favorite was the Sirloin Tips, very tasty. The ribs and chicken were good but did not stand out like the tips. The salad was fresh. The chicken noodle soup was a little salty for my taste.Overall good food with great service.“
“On the earlier side, great spot for dinner. Solid menu and beer selection. Great cheap specials Sunday through Thursday. On the later side, especially on weekends, pretty rockin spot. Couple of bar games and a pool table. Overall a good allston “

“I have found that there is some inconsistency in the quality of food you get at the 99 Restaurants. This particular one in Waltham was pretty good. My caesar salad was big and the chicken was good. Potato skins were also really good. The rest of the meals ordered were ok.“

“I picked the place at random because it was close to where I was staying and I'm glad I did. The staff is efficient and friendly. The menu offers quite a few choices for such a small place. And the food is excellent. I had the scallops the first night. They were quite fresh and well prepared. Tonight I'm having the muffuletta and it too is delicious.“
