“Savinos is a local gem. I've been here for celebratory dinners in the past, both pre- and during the pandemic, and everything has been delicious with great service in a classy (if a bit dated) atmosphere. Lately I've been enjoying their lunch, which is a great price (entrees around $15) for high quality meals that satisfy more than your typical sandwich of the same price in the area. I have a number of dietary restrictions (mostly gluten and dairy free), and they've been able to accommodate them while not compromising on quality. The grilled salmon is one meal I would get again and again. It comes with a refreshing salad alongside a red potato salad that's very lightly dressed with mayonnaise, just what I prefer. The steak is another good option for gluten and dairy free folks. It's easy to substitute items with more veggies. While I've enjoyed just about everything I've had there, sometimes they add a bit too much finishing oils, making some dishes too oily. My mom, who is a particular eater, loves the flatbread (toppings are a rotating special). She found the pasta bolognese to be a bit one note, though, with not much other ingredients. They don't have gf/df desserts, but I couldn't resist taking a bite of my mom's crème caramel. It is deliciously creamy! Reminds me of desserts in Paris when I could eat whatever I wanted. There's street parking and some outdoor seating for warmer months. If you do want to come for lunch, be sure to make a reservation on their website -- I think they still require them. We've also called them to get takeout, which has been super easy. Still, I prefer going in person to have a slice of elegant calm.“
“Mark & Toni's delivers a legit and excellent take on the classic New York pizza slice - elevated significantly with their coal fired oven. If you order a whole pizza the selection of toppings is comprehensive. But it's their authentic Greek-inspired sandwich and kabob selections that are absolutely off the hook! The house dressing is killer and I love using it to dip the souvlaki or other sandwiches. It's a wonderful local spot for Belmont. But it's totally worth the drive from elsewhere to check out the tremendous food.“
“The food is delicious and staff is soo kind and they give coupons and promotions. Only thing is I wish the garlic bread they give you for free with orders was fresher. My favorite is make your own pasta. Occasionally if I order too late in the night it seems rushed (not Al denote, chicken overdone etc. but it’s ok- at least they cook it efficiently.) the desserts are really good too! Staff is very kind and friendly!Parking: Quick service for pick up so you don’t really need to park you can double park on street.“
“We have eaten pizza from Lisa's sometimes and it is OK, with a decent selection of toppings. But, Wednesdays and Fridays my wife wants to eat fish. We usually cook it ourselves but sometimes it is just nice to have no dishes to clean. For us, that is when we order Fish & Chips from Lisa's Family Pizzeria. Surprisingly we have found it hard to find any authentic Fish & Chips in the Boston area. What we have found is that Lisa's F&C is made with fresh haddock and the fry oil seems to be changed regularly so the everything is crisp and the flavor of the fish and potatoes comes through. Portions are generous, price is reasonable, the staff are consistently friendly. and they even include tartar sauce and lemon on the side. A win.(OK - Murph's Law in effect - 1 hour after writing this review, we ordered again. Fish was still good, but fries were changed to steak fries and coleslaw was so soggy with mayo that it was inedible. Not sure what's up? After many orders this was a first so I won't change rating, but thought it should be noted.)“
“I haven't ordered from this place in years but did a couple of times in the last couple months, and the pizza is a marked improvement from what they were putting out regularly some years ago. The crust is nice and crispy, before it was a soggy mess. I find it too greasy still though.“
“A gorgeous restaurant in the heart of Belmont Center. The restored firehouse building is absolutely stunning inside and out and suites the vibe of Il Casale perfectly. The food is good. It's authentic Italian. It's changed over the years. It may have been better in the early years, but it's still good. The service has been pretty darned good over the years, but upon last visit, 03/27/24, I was simply amazed at the kindness, which started at the front door with the host. Everyone was kind, genuine, confident, and knowledgeable.“
