New American Restaurants near Boylston, MA

“I want to make some suggestions rather than saying I do or don’t recommend this place. I’m familiar with Pepper’s, and I like to support hard-working chefs, especially when they use local farms and vendors. The overall concept of self-service is fine, but I preferred the table service of the old restaurant. It felt a little more closed in, and I also don’t like the paper plates, cups, and plastic utensils. Real utensils were available, though. The salad choices looked really healthy and colorful, and the menu was certainly varied enough. I saw a frittata being served and it was the size of a half piece of pie, though it looked good. My friends and I opted for soup and grilled cheese sandwiches, thinking they would be more like upscale comfort food. Two of us had the bacon-tomato version, the other had the mushroom. Since they were pre-made, then popped in a convection oven, they were more like melted cheese on dry, light toast, versus the buttery, golden goodness that makes a grilled cheese what its name implies. The portion was small and the fillings meager. If the idea was to make it a healthier grilled cheese, even a drizzle of olive oil might help. The soup was luke-warm, but tasty enough. We shared a dessert bar, which was delicious, with black coffee, which didn’t taste fresh like it had ben sitting a while. Be forewarned that if you pay by credit card, an automatic 15 percent tip is added, though you have the option to change it up or down, if you happen to notice it. There wasn’t much service involved, and you clear your own table. My portion alone, which included the sandwich with chips, a cup of soup, dessert bar, and coffee, plus added tip came to just under twenty dollars. I would give it another shot, but there is room for improvement. We all agreed that the dining experience was at a grade of about C+. Wishing you success in the future... Hope this helps.“

“I took my bestie here tonight and had the ABSOLUTE best time!!! The food was amazing (we both use the gluten free menu!!!) the atmosphere was so wonderful and the service was just so beyond!!! Amara was truly one of the BEST servers I’ve ever had-so very kind and attentive and helpful with making everything so perfect and then I believe her name was Camille-came to let us stay longer allowing our wonderful Amara to go home-something I thought was just so very thoughtful & kind-our family has been in the food industry for years and these ladies along with the manager were among the very best I’ve ever had the pleasure of being served by!!! 100% will be back and I give this my highest recommendation!!!“

“My wife and I just left Logan’s table and I have to tell you it was one of the best dinners we’ve had in a long time. I had the Ahi tuna meal and it was one of the best Ahi’s I’ve ever had my wife had the shrimp and scallop genovese and she loved it We will definitely be back great job by all and the service was also great“

“I found myself in Worcester yesterday and searched for vegan food online and found Belmont Vegetarian among others listed. After seeing several pictures of dishes I decided to go! And I’m glad I did! Belmont Vegetarian (where everything is vegan) was delicious and in heaping portions. There’s a smaller (but still big) container for only $17 and change and a giant container (which I obviously got) for $19 and change. I got BBQ, mac n cheese, rice , beans, and chickpeas, and some sweet n sour steak. They also make their own delicious juice with sea moss. I got watermelon. The place is set up for takeout mostly with only 2 dining tables.Definitely worth the drive from NH!“

“The experience at J's is always exceptional - beautiful old farmhouse, wood fireplace, clean, great service. not too loud. And when the food matches up with my tastes, it's a hit. I wish they offered more than 1 soup & more than 1 salad.“

“Dined here last evening. Wow! From the moment you walk in you feel the warmth of the atmosphere in this beautiful restaurant. Subtle music, warm welcome and lovely decor. The staff is helpful and friendly. The presentation on the dishes is beautiful. I hope that more people discover this gem in Northborough. As a business professional, this would be my go-to place to bring clients and business associates. The owners are hands on and it shows.“

“I always want to try all of Armsby's dishes because they make meals based on what's in season. They have a lot of staples on their menu like the Smash Burger that I absolutely love. I crave the burger and fries here and it's hard to deviate. The drinks are always unique, too. If I just want to have a nice drink after a long week or stop in before some Worcester type event, I would choose Armsby over anything. The staff are always so friendly, too! It's such a Worcester institution and a must-try!“

“Milford - First time in, did not love what I ordered and not only was it taken off our bill, but the manager gave us a $25 gift card to come back…that’s excellent customer service which impressed us. Flatbread was excellent, waitress was very kind and attentive and lots of local teens working which was really nice to see. Can’t wait to come back! ❤️“

The place was full, with people waiting, so it was a bit noisy, a bit challenging to converse over dinner. However that did not at all take away from the food and service. Never disappoint at CBG.“

“Absolutely the best N. Y. Sirloin I have ever tasted. It was thick, tender and favorable, served with a chicken-of-the-woods reduction that was perfectly paired with the steak. Reservations are recommended and the place was full within the first hour of operation. It can be a little noisy, but that's to be expected for an restaurant that is as popular as Romaine's. Service was adequate and attentive for the Saturday night crowd“

“Visited Oli’s Italian Eatery today Sunday October 20th, 2024 with sister-in-laws and a cousin. Arrived for noon, seated in back, the restaurant was clean and spotless. We all ordered something different, Haddock Fish Tacos (there were four) Baked Haddock with Rice Pilaf, Shrimp Scampi with Linguine and Seafood Saute & Angel Hair. All meals were served hot and in large portions. We took home and our waitress was very pleasant. Support your local small restaurants and I give this dining experience five stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️.“

“First time at Jimmy's in years. Had the Cobb salad, which was completely fresh and delicious. Companions had chicken sandwiches which were extremely robust and delicious looking. Seemed to be a little short staffed as we were asked to wait about 10+ min despite the dining room being only 1/3 full but waitress was wonderful. Based on the freshness, the generous servings and the reasonable prices I will definitely go back again.“

“We usually sit at the bar and get immediate service. The bartender last night even remember us from a few months ago. She remembered what we drank. My sister ordered the same as last time and I ordered a slightly dirty Tito’s martini with a special request for bleu cheese stuffed olives. They were perfection! We both ordered the ahi tuna with avocado and jasmine rice. Omg it was to die for. I can’t wait to go back and order it again. “Thank you to Bolton Street Tavern who hosted the most beautiful celebration of life. The food was delicious and John and Sharon made sure that each and every guest there was taken care of. The setting was perfect with the beautiful lake in the background. And even the downpour of rain that passed by did not bother a soul as it was all covered. “It's National Oyster Day & I'm hooked on The Mercantile's offer of $1 oysters with strawberry mignonette from 4-6, Monday to Thursday, is unbeatable. I also devoured their goat cheese bites, crispy broccoli, & boom boom shrimp, all incredible appetizers. My friends' mac & cheese with buffalo shrimp & lobster fettuccine were insane. To top it off Claire, our waitress, was absolute perfection. Back to the mac & cheese - top tier!“
