“Went on a Friday afternoon for lunch. Wasn't expecting it to be so crowded. Waited about 15 minutes for a table which wasn't bad. Service and food were amazing. My mom and I both had the lobster bisque and it was outstanding. She had the crab cake as her entree and I had the cedar plank roasted salmon with green beans and roasted potatoes. They were out of this world. I have never fully finished a piece of salmon anywhere like I did there. The food also comes out super hot which was a plus. If you ever go ask for Kya, she was our server and was great! Highly recommend this place to anyone in chestnut hill.“

“I have lived in the Boston-esque area for twelve years and have eaten so many good meals, but the fish tacos here are the only meal I needed to have before my upcoming move out west(ern MA). Cocktails are fun and creative, service is 13/10, the XL portions of fries that require to-go boxes are the only fries I’ve ever found to reheat well, and if you’re lucky, Steve will be tending bar. I love going at the slightly quieter times but I’ll never gatekeep the euphoria experienced by a meal here. Bonus perks: Max & Chelsea have the best senses of humor, the murals on the patio are always amazing, the beer and wine selection are vast (also the mocktails!), and the decor always feels like your favorite “I Spy” book.“

They had a private event but she was able to seat me in the raw bar section and my dinner was excellent. The staff are very kind and don’t make you feel rushed at all. The food quality was top notch and the raw bar was excellent. The service and quality surpass the pricing. Do not miss the opportunity to try this place out.“

“Let me tell you something: this short rib was so good, I almost wrote it a love letter. Seriously, I took one bite, and the clouds parted, angels sang, and my entire life made sense. I didn’t know meat could taste like this. It was so tender I thought it might actually be apologizing to my teeth for needing to chew it. I was convinced I’d died and gone to a magical beef heaven where this rib was the only thing on the menu.

If I could legally marry this short rib, I would. If I could adopt it, raise it as my own, and send it off to college, I would. This isn’t just food, it’s an emotional experience. “The food was excellent, they had a Pulp Fiction tribute burger which was phenomenal. I would go back just for that and also their pumpkin cheesecake is a must try if you ever stop by during the fall. Steak frites was also delicious. Best place to go eat at before going to watch the Celtics!!!“

“Friendly service and amazing food! My daughter had the grilled organic chicken sandwich and I had the mixed greens and arugula salad-- both were delicious. Our server was knowledgeable, and several other servers double checked on us and greeted us as they walked by. We will definitely be back.“

Parker House rolls:
Pillowy soft. Slightly sweet with a light dusting of salt on top. Butter was creamy and tasty too. 4/5

Potato pave
Like a giant French fry. Crispy outside nice and soft on inside. Topped with cavier and shallots which added a nice saltiness and savory flavor combo.

kampachi crudo-
Topped with basil, radishes, and cherry pepper drops
Good quality fish, slightly acidic flavor went well with the basil and radish. Cherry peppers added a light spice. Overall lacked flavor though 3.5/5

capitelli- topped with a Gremolata and capers, olive oil and eggplant
Very savory and well cooked. This was tasty 4.5/5

Pork loin with celery figs and peppers
Very tender and flavorful. Nice sauce with savoriness and a sweetest added by the figs 5/5

Dessert was a pear sorbet-
So good! Very. Tasted exactly like a pear. No added sugar no additives. so good! 5/5“

Just as important is catching up weekly with owner, Kat, to get her commentary on latest menu items and other exciting things she’s up to - ie guest spotting at neighbor restaurant Urban Hearth! I’ll go out of my way earlier/later in the week to come by if I can’t make it on my usual day. If any sandwiches catch your eye, definitely give it a shot. Truly filling a unique niche - you can get classic italian sandos from Dave’s fresh, coffee shop breakfasts from the usuals, but stop here for something new and always fun!“

Our server, Nate made great recommendations and was enthusiastic about our order, unobtrusively kept the water glasses filled and had the delicate balance of checking on us mastered.The unexpected star of our meal was the roasted beet and faro salad, although the pretzel and poutine were not far behind. The food was so good we even forgot about the beautiful cocktails we were having. Although we arrived an hour before closing, we were never rushed. Two weary travelers were cared for, served fabulous cocktails and delicious food in a timely manner so that we could return to our room to get ready for a morning flight.
