“My parents enjoyed lobster rolls to celebrate their 71st wedding anniversary today. Loved listening to my Dad talk about his memories of the Stand opening in 1937. His family lived across the street and he said his oldest sister was allowed to take his older brother to get a free ice cream cone they were giving out all day. He was only 5 at the time and had to wait till his Dad got home from work to go get his. He also said he remembers there were service windows all the way around the stand and that day all the windows were busy all day long. Would recommend any and everything they serve. If it wasn’t great, it would never have survived this long.“

Heather, our waitress, provided top-notch service throughout dinner. The new summer prix fixe menu is a steal - 3 courses for $38. The meal started with a small plate of homemade pub cheese and bread, accompanied by a blueberry patch mojito and Nantucket spritz. For appetizers, we enjoyed clam chowder, vichyssoise, and lobster rangoons loaded with huge chunks of lobster. The entrees were beef tenderloin tips and fish and chips with a light, crunchy batter. “I’ve been a fan of the Yellow Chicken Curry for awhile, and I was really craving it tonight. My husband decided to make the (30 minute) drive to get takeout for me and try the food himself for the first time. He chose to try the Ladna with chicken, because he wanted something he could share with our 19 month old daughter. The curry, as always, was amazing! Flavorful and delicious. The Ladna my husband raved over! He devoured the plateful he grabbed himself and had to stop himself from grabbing more when he was full. My 19 month old, who’s incredibly picky, also LOVED it. She even ate the chicken, and we can rarely get her to eat meat! She ate every bite of her plate, which is hard to get her to do lately. To add to the awesome food, the portions are also HUGE. Well worth the price, as we can typically get at least a small portion of leftovers to have for lunch the next day. I can’t recommend Thai Lemongrass enough! Definitely a must to try 😁“

“Ordered a party size pepperoni and couldn't have been more satisfied. The roni slices were thicker than average, I couldn't even see space between them. It was 3 times normal. The sauce was perfect, not too sweet, no mint which some places use. Simple and pure. As far as the dough goes, there were more air pockets than in Joe Bidens brain. I remember this type of dough from my Greek grandmother when she would sit on the floor and beat the mixture in a stainless 30 qrt bowl as she made everything with flour every Sunday to last the week. Truly amazing. The quaint dimly lit interior with few tables reminds me of my fathers small bakery he had in Boston when we came to the country from Greece in the early 70's. Ill be going back.“

I decided to give alley CAT a chance after a BAD experience at Mama's kitchen. So I went to Mama'sKitchen. I ordered bacon egg and cheese on an English muffin with an extra slice of bacon and an OJ. She asked if I wanted a side of bacon and I said no just an extra slice on the sandwich. So she rings it up and it came to $15.45. I questioned it and asked for a refund. She explained the bill and that a side of bacon was $4.50 and I told her I didn't ask for a side. she started being rude to me telling me well thats how it goes, extra bacon comes on the side. What's sad is that a customer sitting at the counter even questioned her and why if I was asking for 1 slice of bacon that she would charge me for a whole side. Since the food wasn't cooked I asked her for a refund and she said they wouldn't do it, that "they are a small business and don't have the capability to do it" that is an absolute BS All "card swipe" machines have the ability to offer a refund. And before people start running their mouths it's only $15. It's the damn point.“

“My husband and I just had our wedding at J. Anthony's. For such a large and lovely space, they could not be more reasonably priced and easy to work with. The high ceilings and that wall of windows are really a wow factor. They are currently making updates to the event space, so I can only imagine that future events will be even more fabulous. Any time I interacted with staff leading up to the event, they were so upbeat and enthusiastic. Being pleasant is obviously a part of working in the restaurant industry, but everyone always felt genuinely excited for us, which made us even more excited as the big day drew near.

We live nearby, so we already knew that they had wonderful food. We got compliments from guests on all of it, but the most talked-about items were the beef and the stuffed shells. So many people told me they regretted not requesting more stuffed shells. They really were amazing; I could have eaten an entire plate of them! A dessert was included in our package -- we chose apple crisp and it was delicious. But we also brought in apple cider donuts from a local orchard. Abbey (the event manager) was super accommodating. We just dropped them off in the morning and then arrangements of donuts on beautiful gold chargers were placed at each table during the evening.

One other point of note was how lovely the event staff was! My husband and I had multiple guests comment to us throughout the evening about the wonderful service staff. I can't imagine that is something typically noticed or commented upon at a large event, so it just highlights how personable and accommodating they all were. I was able to chat with some of the servers toward the end of the evening and they were all so kind and complimentary, it made my night even more special.“
