“I can’t comment on the rooms here as we joined them for their restaurant only, but I can say that the food, service and ambiance are all excellent. Ingredients are obviously of primary importance to the chef, and the dishes are very well prepared and presented. It is expensive and the clientele tends to be older, though not exclusively so. There is ample seating inside and out.

Best onion rings I’ve ever had, they come out amazing and not dripping in grease. Loved it the first time to Cape Cod had to bring my mom and M.I.L the next trip 🥰🤩 highly recommend!!“

“Sunbird is one of my favorite breakfast spots on the cape. The food is unique and wholesome. My favorites are the breakfast tacos and chai latte. I love the picnic tables and patio in the back - such a relaxing spot to enjoy quiet or a catch up with friends!“

“We happened to be in Orleans and decided to grab an early dinner at The Barley Neck. We started with a dozen raw oysters and a bottle of French Chardonnay. The oysters were so fresh and delicious we ordered a second dozen. My husband had a lobster pasta dish for his entree and I had a Thai style tuna steak. Both were delicious, but a special thumbs up for the tuna. It was without a doubt the BEST tuna steak I’ve ever had! We finished with the pineapple upside down cake special! O.M.G. Everything was consistently amazing. The service was attentive and welcoming! From beginning to end the experience as a whole was on point! 10 out of 10!“

“We had the rueben and some chicken wings. Both yummy. Great fries and not too many. Hot and crunchy. It was a rainy night and the AC was blowing on us. I'm guessing it's a good atmosphere for a warm summer day but for us cold, not helped by a table of heavily drinking golfers who were loud, and super crude. The hard surfaces amplified their noise. “It took me a while to try this place after I saw they removed tempeh and vegan cheese from the menu. No need for those with all the other scrumptious vegan fillings- you can load up a bowl or burrito with any and all vegan fillings- tons of vegetables, black and refried beans, and brown rice. “Stopped here for a quick bite. They have several vegan bagel portions and vegan cream cheese with toppings. They also have many salads, sandwiches, coffee and smoothies! The bagel I had was delicious and I bought some incredible organic coffee beans to take home. I will return and I highly recommend!“

“Wow James Hackney has gotten inspired! We have been dining here for many many years. The room and the view have always brought us back. In the early years the food was exceptional but then had dropped off and the menu never changed much. Well this past Thursday the food was amazing! The lobster carbonara did not in anyway resemble the old version and thankfully so it was delicious! My husband had the halibut and said it was delicious I had the duck and it was amazing! Truly a wonderful dinner. My only negative is I did not like the new decor. I prefer the old beautiful decor/ chairs and tall flower arrangements. Service was exceptional!“
