“Wow!! The best Chicken Pot Pie I have ever had! I live in Stockbridge and grocery stores and other places will stock their bread(the brioche makes amazing French toast) and a few other items they make, but it’s really worth the trip to grab a slice, or a whole take & back pie(pizza or chicken pot). The staff is also super friendly.“

“I absolutely love this unique find. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The service was Swift and the food was excellent. A quaint little spot it was comfortable, and I quite enjoyed the music. Overall a great experience we didn't have any libation just the food and some water and everything was great. I highly recommend them as a restaurant. I'm not sure about the bar part, but going on what my experience was, I would imagine that's pretty good, too.“

“This may very well have been the best dining experience we have ever had. We were given a complimentary toast for our anniversary. Brandon was fantastic. He was busy, but on top of it. Very attentive and helpful. Gave great recommendations when asked. We started with a dozen oysters, they were so fresh and delicious. Then tried the french onion bread and it did not dissapoint. It was crusty and cheesey on the outsoft and gooey on the inside. My husband had the korean ribs and enjoyed every bite. I had the scallops and pork belly. This dish was incredible, it was served over creamed cauliflower and everything married together so perfectly. We ended things with the dessert from the specials menu and two cappuccino. An awesome finish to a truly wonderful dining experience. We will be back.“

“I did take out but from what I could tell the inside was really nice. The food itself was fantastic, I got the Hot spice level Basil Chili Chicken and it was worth every bite. The veggie dumplings were to die for and the Thai dumplings were even better. I recommend to almost all of my customers when asked where good for is.“

“Imagine my delight when I found this gem during a visit to Great Barrington while touring the area. We had our senior dog with us and my husband and I needed a table outdoors to eat in the shade. Almost out of options, then we walked down a side street off Main Street and found STEAM Noodle Cafe among the few open restaurants on a Monday at the shared patio area. I LOVED the Northern Thai Curry Chicken bowl, accurately described as “flavorful but not spicy”. All I can say is YUMMY. I don’t “do” spicy and am often disappointed when i trust a restaurant to accurately describe a dish as not-spicy. This dish was gorgeous, colorful and I almost licked the bowl clean. While stepping back inside to praise the restaurant, another customer heard my rave review and also ordered that dish. Wish I lived closer, I’d be there often.“

“Really solid, classic, juicy and flavorful pizza, and their Mac and cheese bites are just devourable. I love going here on cold winter nights in my pajamas and buying a pizza to share with friends. Can't go wrong, except maybe not the best place for fries. Otherwise, great menu.“

“We’ve been regular customers for a long time. Food is good but not great but given we’re in GB it as good as it gets. I wish their chicken supply was better quality. Other than that it’s owned and run by a really nice family and it feels like they care about making customers happy.“

“We always enjoy coming to this restaurant, for its historical atmosphere and delicious food. We were there over the weekend, and asked for a special table for our family who was there from out of town, and they had it waiting for us when we arrived. Thank you!“

“Great little spot. I would have given five stars however, over the years, they have had Chef retention struggles, so the food has always been a bit inconsistent. It seems like it has gotten much more consistent over the last year, which is great to see. Very friendly staff“

“Really nice atmosphere when you walk in, the waitress was very attentive and kind. The food was the best part, me and my gf ordered the chicken sandwich and it was great. Been awhile since we've had a really good chicken sandwich that wasn't greasy or oversized to the point that it overtakes the other toppings on the sandwich. If this place wasn't so far from Hartford I'd be going here more often.“

“This is a great place to eat and meet and talk with local folks. There's a jazz trio led by a friend of mine who teaches young kids how to play jazz. And, they are remarkably good musicians! The atmosphere is pure funk and delightful. The servers are terrific and very friendly. Go there. You won't regret it.“

“There was only a single area of opportunity for this restaurant, and I mention it below. We've driven by this restaurant for years and years, and have always wanted to eat here. WOW, I'm glad we did. First of all, you are greeted by a wonderful man, who is teeming with charm and warmth--literally the best host you can imagine. I'm not sure if I heard a British accent, but wow, what an entrance and what a pleasant and charming man. We were seated right away at about 5:15, and within minutes the place filled up--every seat gone. We had driven from Litchfield, and it was raining and super foggy out there, and the drive felt like it lasted forever, but we felt so welcomed when we arrived. The fireplace was roaring and it warmed our bones, while the coziness immediately overtook us. The woman who seemed in charge of the restaurant, possibly the owner, was equally accommodating and made sure everyone was 100% comfortable, and that their tables were perfectly set. I watched her working and just knew this restaurant had it together like clockwork. They work so hard to make sure you feel like you're getting the best experience possible, and I appreciate that so much. Our server was equally wonderful and accommodating, and timed everything perfectly for us so we could enjoy my husband's birthday dinner. Everyone eating there seemed like locals, or from the Massachusetts area and were also excited to be sitting and eating there. I stared with a drink called "Jacques the Elder," made with Makers Mark, Lemon, Ginger beer, elderflower, and topped with a row of candied ginger for $14. Just mouth-watering. The server brought us some delicious Berkshire Bread Col sourdough and and breadsticks, accompanied by a feta and tomato purée, which was outstanding. For appetizers we had a prosciutto, burrata, and pear to start. When paired with the the sourdough bread, it was just delicious. All just well-prepared and fresh. For my husband's entree, he had a delicious pan-seared trout on a bed of mini pearlescent gnocchi that was sumptuous. This was not a regular menu item. I had a shrimp and spaghetti dish that was equally delicious with just the right amount of heat, but, there just wasn't enough Spaghetti in the dish to account for the $34 price tag. You can see the dish was very shallow, in the photos below. I asked for more bread and then dipping that in the delicious buttery Sauce. This didn't detract at all, but just another two forkfuls of pasta would have given me that important impression of value and abundance. Then the young man bused the table and used a scraper to make sure every crumb was gone, in preparation for dessert--pure service. We finished the dinner with cappuccinos, and a flourless chocolate cake and pistachio ice cream. The flourless cake just stuck to the roofs of our mouths, and the ice cream helped provide that creamy cold nutty contrast. What brilliant pairing. The entire evening was perfection. The kind of experience you start to miss before it's actually over. We drove home with jaws dropped, and commented on what a magical, cozy, and welcoming experience that was. Particularly, how it will be difficult to recreate again--but darn it, we will try. I highly recommend Old Mill, as a true staple of Southern Mass, as an enchanting dining experience, and truly delicious culinary triumph.“
