“We are an entertainment service company that specializes in small ensemble/DJ combos. We performed at our first wedding at The Herb Lyceum in early October and were blown away. First of all, the garden and grounds are LOVELY, the food is OUTSTANDING and the staff were all WONDERFUL. Everyone there was friendly and professional, and truly allowed us to do what we do best, and we felt fully supported to do our jobs. Often with outdoor venues, we have issues with power, but not here! We had ample power for the ceremony, dinner reception and the dance party under the tent, running some heavy wattage sound and lights. We very much look forward to coming back to do more events in the future!“

“Known for their steaks and farm to table menu, Gibbet Hill Grill is a warm venue with beautiful views. The Barn at Gibbet Hill is semi associated and it a great wedding/celebration venue. We just had our first wedding anniversary dinner, after having our wedding last year at the Barn. We highly recommend them both. Also on Saturday dinners in the late spring/summer there is a good chance to watch there lawn wedding ceremony from the seats in the lounge.“

“Always fantastic food in very special old New England building with wonderful interior, lighting and terrace. If you’re looking for a special setting for a special meal this is unbeatable in the area.
My recommendation is to do a wine tasting before 5.30pm when that closes, to decide your favorite wine, then go to dinner and order a bottle.“

“What a wonderful spot to grab a meal. We had about a 20 minute wait because we did not have a reservation but it went by quick. The restaurant is a bit on the rustic side but it had a ton of charm. While we waited for our meal we were serenaded by a gentleman playing the piano. For our meals I had the small prime rib served with mashed butternut squash and my girlfriend had the turkey dinner. The prime rib was so flavorful and cooked perfectly. We absolutely loved this place.“

“We stopped at Stevie's on the way to the American Heritage Museum - just looking for a bite before we went in and honestly couldn't have been happier. The cafe itself is in a commercial complex, but there's dedicated parking and loads of seating inside, mostly tables and chairs, some sofas.
The menu is unfussy, food is all hand made to order from scratch with no additives, and great quality. We had chicken quesedillas and macaroni cheese - the chicken was fresh and the veg was tasty and it came with a pot of salsa which was delicious. The macaroni was in a nice creamy sauce which was just perfect for the kids.
The place has a warm community feel, even though it's in a pretty neutral building. Stevie was welcoming and kind, the kids thought he was great fun and there are signs on the walls showing the business' involvement in tackling food poverty in the local area.
Overall, a great experience!“

“Wow!!! I am a very picky eater with my pizza. it blew me away. Cooked perfectly, the sauce had an awesome basil flavor (which is usually great) and the crust was perfectly crisp!!!! I will be back soon. A+++.“
“I work construction right down the street and around the corner and needed a quick eat to bite. I saw this place on maps and went to check it out. There was no one inside but the two ladies working in the kitchen behind the counter. One of them asked me what can she get for me and made me an egg sandwich right there. Great service, great food, I highly recommend.“

“Enjoyed a flight of craft beer and a delicious Lobster roll with excellent coleslaw. One small criticism. Didn't want fries (although my wife got them with her excellent haddock plate and they were very good) However, I wanted onion rings and had to order them as an appetizer and there were just too many so most went to waste. Clean and bright atmosphere, friendly service as well.“

“I want to make some suggestions rather than saying I do or don’t recommend this place. I’m familiar with Pepper’s, and I like to support hard-working chefs, especially when they use local farms and vendors. The overall concept of self-service is fine, but I preferred the table service of the old restaurant. It felt a little more closed in, and I also don’t like the paper plates, cups, and plastic utensils. Real utensils were available, though. The salad choices looked really healthy and colorful, and the menu was certainly varied enough. I saw a frittata being served and it was the size of a half piece of pie, though it looked good. My friends and I opted for soup and grilled cheese sandwiches, thinking they would be more like upscale comfort food. Two of us had the bacon-tomato version, the other had the mushroom. Since they were pre-made, then popped in a convection oven, they were more like melted cheese on dry, light toast, versus the buttery, golden goodness that makes a grilled cheese what its name implies. The portion was small and the fillings meager. If the idea was to make it a healthier grilled cheese, even a drizzle of olive oil might help. The soup was luke-warm, but tasty enough. We shared a dessert bar, which was delicious, with black coffee, which didn’t taste fresh like it had ben sitting a while. Be forewarned that if you pay by credit card, an automatic 15 percent tip is added, though you have the option to change it up or down, if you happen to notice it. There wasn’t much service involved, and you clear your own table. My portion alone, which included the sandwich with chips, a cup of soup, dessert bar, and coffee, plus added tip came to just under twenty dollars. I would give it another shot, but there is room for improvement. We all agreed that the dining experience was at a grade of about C+. Wishing you success in the future... Hope this helps.“

“My colleagues and I visited this establishment directly following our performance at GrotonFest, which was held nearby. The staff was very courteous and obliging. Lauren, our server, was particularly pleasant. We shared some lighthearted conversation, and our food was served promptly. The meal was substantial, the staff was friendly, and the view was extraordinary. The Rusty Randoms highly recommend Forge and Vine!“
“Had the Cesar salad, it was pretty good (a little overdressed for my taste). The service was very slow considering we were only 2 of 4 people at the bar. Overall not a bad place if you don't feel like going out, but if you have another option, I would probably pick it.“

“There’s always a first time, and for me, it was at this 99 Restaurant in Hudson. Overall, it was a pretty good experience. Locals (and yes, I’m using the word just to mirror how Americans affectionately refer to the rest of the world’s population in their native places) probably don’t need an introduction to this chain. But for anyone unfamiliar, think of it as a Chili’s with a bit more dining space beyond the bar or an Outback without the grilled steaks.
The food is solid, with comforting options that cater to hearty appetites. I was curious about what sets 99 apart from similar chains like Applebee’s, and the answer I got was simple: “They think they’re better and charge more.” While neither is glaringly obvious, the menu does offer a few standout dishes, like the Shepherd’s Pie - a refreshing option compared to the usual burgers and fried food lineup.
Next time, I’ll try sitting at the bar - it looks like the kind of spot where this place really shines. For a casual, satisfying meal, 99 in Hudson is worth a visit.“

Best entrees- Short Rib, Half roasted Chicken, Fish Tacos & their burgers delish. “We usually sit at the bar and get immediate service. The bartender last night even remember us from a few months ago. She remembered what we drank. My sister ordered the same as last time and I ordered a slightly dirty Tito’s martini with a special request for bleu cheese stuffed olives. They were perfection! We both ordered the ahi tuna with avocado and jasmine rice. Omg it was to die for. I can’t wait to go back and order it again. I wish I could remember the bartender’s name so I could give her a shout out!!! All it says in the receipt is server: PM.“

“Went to experience their Oktoberfest menu. The food was delicious. It is hard to find German dishes in Massachusetts, so I was especially excited and we ordered a lot of dishes. My favorites are the wurst, the beef stroganoff, tand the saurbraten. I would suggest that if you get the applesauce meatloaf, that you ask for the applesauce on the side instead of on top. It was a tad too much applesauce for me. I went a second time to get dessert. They had a "dessert tray" where they brought out covered dessert selection, which was very cool. The black forest cake was very good. Unfortunately, they only have these items during their oktoberfest (late September to October 31). But I suggest marking your calendar for next year if you missed it!“

“Breakfast is noted as an important meal and Victor's fulfills that need with speed! This diner is named after Victor Tzakis coupled it's 50's posters of Elvis, Marilyn, and the Rat Pack equates to the name. My crew slid in at the cool hour of 6:45 ready to eat. We were greeted as we waltzed in the door. Asked if we wanted a booth or a table. We elected for a table. Menu presented, specials given, and drink orders taken. We took a breath and discussed deep topics. One member of the crew was overwhelmed by the options. To boot he is a Greek, but he played amateur hour and we retreated back into our parlance. He was tasked with making up his mind. The server was patient and kind. Johnny K eeny meanied. Selected ham, rye, 2 poached eggs, home fries, and French toast. He drank his coffee dark like his soul. The next guy ordered two eggs fried hard. His toast was marbled rye with French toast. Home fries came with it too. I.C. ordered pancakes as from my other reviews you realize...he knows his pancakes. Side hustle of sausage and biscuits were ordered, home fries and eggs fried. I have to suffer with hangriness for having to meet these squares at 5:15 in the morning knew all along what I desired. With no hesitation 2 eggs scrambled, sausage gravy over biscuits with grits. Server did not bat and eye...We talked about break dancing at the Olympics having moved from the topic from before. Before anyone could speak on the idea of....Food began to emerge. First the home fries...They were underwhelming with lots of paprika. However, all our eggs were cooked to perfection. I eyeballed perfect poached eggs. My friend's fried eggs were hard and IC's yellow toast dipping yolk ran for his fried eggs. The grits were instant grits, but they were warm. Just plain grits. The sausage gravy was delicious. I would describe the gravy as creamy with peppery tones. The biscuits grilled on the flattop were super. The biscuits were dense but not crumbly....A plus...they were dense with great mouth appeal is the best way to describe them. Paired with the peppery sausage gravy...spoonfuls of the gravy were ladled by yours truly onto the biscuits. The gravy came in a small bowl on the side. I appreciated this. This allowed the gravy to be mixed in by me with some of the grits too... I was beyond happy. I had a water, two friends had coffee, and one a diet coke. The coffee was rated as a good cuppa. Now the pancakes were deemed B+ by IC. IC said the batter on the pancakes were dense and the batter cooked unevenly thus some dry moments. Still a B+ from this pancake monster means a good cake. IC likes fluffy pancakes. These were not rated as such more...just not airt....these were also good size. This may have contributed to the texture. The group agreed this place was a solid A establishment. The server was realllly great and we were not rushed.
The bill came to 72.95 and we tipped 20 in cash (Since it is the King, Right Elvis)....
On that note, we left the building!!!
Definitely, a return visit may be warranted. Other friends we meet up with later rolled in after us at the 8:30ish time frame. One raved about the skillet. I guess it is a signature dish. I am intrigued and will probably stop in to try a skillet.
Parking: We parked at the garage next door, some unmetered street parking.“
