“Out of towner here visiting for a long weekend. Ordered a small cheese pizza and small margarita pizza. Both delicious and well worth the price some reviewers are griping about. I ordered online and my food was ready when expected. The gentleman working the front (presumably the owner?) was also very kind to my daughter and I. I'd absolutely come back here again. 10/10“

“Recommended to me by my faculty colleague, Anselm Wong, I tried Gyro and Souvlaki to cater a work event. Gigi was wonderful up front coordinating the order and pick up, even handling a small hiccup at the end. The food was not only delicious, but - no surprise for us Greeks - massive in quantity. Note to all. Even though everything was delicious, I have very specific shout outs: maybe the best tzatziki ever and the galactoboureko - omg. Such wonderful homages to yiayias and summer church picnics everywhere!“

“We’ve lived in Worcester for almost 5 years and have tried so many restaurants. Green Island Oyster is now our favorite by far. Everything we ordered was phenomenal. The oysters were fresh and delicious, crab cakes were cooked to perfection, the green curry crab lettuce wraps were light, had just the right amount of spice and were unique, the crab Rangoon flatbread was perfect and they had the best fish and chips we’ve ever had. Service was great too. We will be recommending this place to all our friends and will definitely be back!“

Right across the side street from The Commons at Worcester City Hall! Yes! We New Englanders know how to party! _____, her husband _____, pal _____, and yours truly (all of us Leominsterites) made merry at the best middle eastern establishment around! (It’s been a favorite of mine for some time!) Oversized containers piled high with falafel, kibbeh, egg plant, grape leaves, rice, vegetables, as well as beef and chicken (all separated for the veggies among us, ahem!), hummus, tahini, pita bread, baklava, etc. etc.! All in the wonderful Shawarma Palace! When I worked in Saudi Arabia (Riyadh) in the 1980s, I fell in love with the orange-and-lemon-flavored shawarmas along Al Baatha Street, the central traditional thoroughfare at the time. Today, we all got to replicate those flavors at the Shawarma Palace! Hurray and hurrah!“

“I just had the meatball sandwich and potato salad. Honest review....the meatballs are AMAZING, the bread was very fresh and delicious. Very messy to eat but worth every napkin used!! The potato salad had a bit more mayo than I like but it had a nice flavor and was really good. The price is very reasonable for the portion size and quality of food.“

“My family stopped here on a road trip, as we needed a beer after several hours in the car with our 2 kids and dog, and it was PERFECT! Extremely dog-friendly (our server even brought our pup a little water bowl, and offered to make him a burger), kid-friendly (my notoriously picky eaters LOVED the chicken fingers & fries and smashburger), and adult-friendly (I had a blood orange lager and a fresh salad, my husband also got a lager and a reeeally good fried chicken sandwich). There was literally something for everyone. We don't drive through Worcester often but we'll certainly make a point to stop in again when we do!“

“I enjoy led a wonderful tour of Italy that includes lasgna, pasta alfredo,and chicken Parm. My wife had eggplant Parm which she raved anout the crispy edges and well cooked center. We also did 2 $6 to go meals we enjoy later. Pasta alfredo and 3 cheese pasta. Yum“

“I want to make some suggestions rather than saying I do or don’t recommend this place. I’m familiar with Pepper’s, and I like to support hard-working chefs, especially when they use local farms and vendors. The overall concept of self-service is fine, but I preferred the table service of the old restaurant. It felt a little more closed in, and I also don’t like the paper plates, cups, and plastic utensils. Real utensils were available, though. The salad choices looked really healthy and colorful, and the menu was certainly varied enough. I saw a frittata being served and it was the size of a half piece of pie, though it looked good. My friends and I opted for soup and grilled cheese sandwiches, thinking they would be more like upscale comfort food. Two of us had the bacon-tomato version, the other had the mushroom. Since they were pre-made, then popped in a convection oven, they were more like melted cheese on dry, light toast, versus the buttery, golden goodness that makes a grilled cheese what its name implies. The portion was small and the fillings meager. If the idea was to make it a healthier grilled cheese, even a drizzle of olive oil might help. The soup was luke-warm, but tasty enough. We shared a dessert bar, which was delicious, with black coffee, which didn’t taste fresh like it had ben sitting a while. Be forewarned that if you pay by credit card, an automatic 15 percent tip is added, though you have the option to change it up or down, if you happen to notice it. There wasn’t much service involved, and you clear your own table. My portion alone, which included the sandwich with chips, a cup of soup, dessert bar, and coffee, plus added tip came to just under twenty dollars. I would give it another shot, but there is room for improvement. We all agreed that the dining experience was at a grade of about C+. Wishing you success in the future... Hope this helps.“

“My husband and I frequent new restaurants regularly as we travel for his profession. I have to say not only was my salmon exquisite the real reason, our experience was on the top of our list Is because of our server. She made us feel so comfortable and at home. We felt like we’ve known her forever, which is a great feeling as we are always in new areas. Not only was her knowledge on every item I asked about on the menu top-tier but her customer service and friendliness was outstanding. I have family who also travel here quite often And I will be recommending this restaurant and having them request her Because she is what made the experience so memorable.

“I stopped in for a warm place to wait for my son’s appointment, and what a treat! It’s 715am and snowy, but Panera is open, warm and friendly. I got a small coffee and cherry pastry and a toasty seat by the fire. The whole place was clean and bright, the staff friendly and ready, despite the early hour and the storm. This was so unexpected and so appreciated. Thank you!“
