“I was getting some work done on my car nearby and needed to kill a half hour or so. Kind of hidden/not super noticable from the outside, very cute pharmacy counter inside with a lot of cheap breakfast options. They are cash only (there's an ATM, $2 fee at time of posting).

I just got scrambled eggs with bacon and toast, SUPER reasonably priced, mostly older folks were there, eating and chatting or playing Keno.

The other patrons and the staff were all super chatty and kind. I honestly had a delightful time, if I lived closer I'd find excuses to come by all the time, great vibes.”

The staff is extremely nice & helpful. The owner always introduces himself and asks if everything is okay or if you need anything. I am now a regular customer!”

“i will definitely be visiting The D Coal Pot again very soon. The food is fresh taste great and really good. I was driving and came upon this restaurant i didn't plan on going to this restaurant but I said to self stop and get a few Patties and wouldn't you know they had no Patties. I left the restaurant with Corn Soup Peas & Rice Chicken Roti Beef Roti. I also got to try a dessert I've never had before I don’t know the name of it but had Guava Sweet Potato Coconut and other things to make this dessert which was really good so I ordered 2 to go. D Coal Pot is definitely a place you must visit and get a meal.”

“Very disappointed that they changed their mozzarella sticks to the same mozzarella stick EVERY place in the world sells. One of the reasons why I used to go here was because of their unique mozzarella sticks guess I don’t need to go here anymore”

“Master McGrath's is not your Downtown Boston or Newbury Street gentrified bougie hangout. It's for the blue collars, the working folk, and for a pint and a shot or some simple cocktails.

Nothing fancy but then it doesn't need it either. Great neighborhood spot full of regulars who know how to use TouchTunes.

Trivia nights are every other Thursday (watch their instagram for updates @master.mcgraths). Always a blast!!

For food, they are currently working on getting their brand new pizza oven up and running. For now, you can order food delivered there (tons of places nearby) or bring your own. There's no table service but all of the bartenders are attentive and know what they're doing.

TO NOTE: This is a CASH ONLY bar. There's an ATM on site and several others in the vicinity.

Parking is on River st (FREE street parking) or there are a couple of small lots nearby. If going on the weekend, you can also park at Rockland Trust after 5 without fear of being towed.

Stop by for the best pint of Guiness in Boston, watch the game on their 7 TVs, cozy up by the electric fireplace, or sit at the bar and chat with the locals. They/we've all got stories!”

“Service there sucks as staff would rather have conversations than serve people and get a line moving in for far too long. I have supported this business and every time I come there people walk out from behind the counter to go do something other than serve the customers while a line builds up. There’s usually one person, servant, and they will all look at you and leave you there to suffer like you’re begging for the food do better only one you have potential to be great I walked out of that restaurant today and told myself I will not come back and support a local business that can get things done right simple service etiquette they lack.”
