“This was an unexpectedly wonderful place to enjoy my evening. I’ve lived near this restaurant for several months and tonight was my first time inside. Not only is the space incredibly comfy, but the staff were remarkably generous and fun to chat with. I had three delicious courses prepared by Chef Misha, then enjoyed a lovely piano performance while sipping some Turkish coffee. You won’t regret spending an evening or weekend afternoon here. I sure didn’t!“

“I can't say enough great things about Sensational Paella. From the start we knew we wanted our food to be different than the typical plated wedding meal. I work in the food industry, so it was really important to me that we WOW our 150+ guests with something truly special. When I stumbled across Sensational Paella, I knew we had found exactly that--something truly special. Julian, his wife, and the entire crew treated us like family from start to finish. They always seemed genuinely excited to be working with us, and truly committed to providing a great experience for our guests. On the day of, they did such a phenomenal job of getting everything set up and sticking to our timeline, and I've never seen a faster and more efficient event breakdown -- the hall looked pristine not even 20 minutes after all the guests left. Then, of course there was the food. FREAKING AMAZING. Our guests couldn't stop telling us how amazing the paella was; so many people told us it was the best food they ever had at a wedding, which meant the world to us. There was more than enough paella for all our guests to have as much as they wanted AND for us to still take home three big tray fulls of paella. We opted for four different paellas on our buffet: the paella mixta (meat and seafood), seafood paella, meat paella, and veg paella--which was an awesome selection that naturally catered to guests with food restrictions or allergies without compromising on a great meal. The whole team at Sensational Paella went above and beyond for us, making sure we got a sample of the charcuterie platter all to ourselves, and bringing us plates of food right at the beginning of dinner. They even brought in and stacked all the chairs from our outdoor ceremony during dinner, which was really kind and saved us so much time at the end of the night. I couldn't recommend Sensational Paella more. If you want something unique that will really wow your guests, you cannot possibly go wrong with Julian and his team. Great people and great food.“

Not only was his food unbelievable, he brought each of us personalized goodie bags to take home, gave us cooking tips along the way, and was a respectable and friendly guest. “Why does Mary have so few reviews?? She's INCREDIBLE. She was our wedding venue's recommended caterer and she did not disappoint. EVERYONE complimented the food. She worked with my fiancé and I to create a complex customized wedding buffet menu - we needed a gluten free table and a separate dairy free table, we wanted our wedding to be a formal tea party and needed all the food to match that theme, etc. She was great about staying in contact and immediately replying whenever I had a question; she also brought a bride platter for me while I was getting ready (she was right - the bride doesn't have time to eat!) that had deviled eggs, which weren't even part of our menu but she remembered me saying I loved so she made them for me. If I ever have another event in Salem, I'm definitely contacting her.“

“We booked Hungry Nomads for our outdoor wedding in September 2024. I totally recommend Hungry Nomads for private events!! Communication was quick and easy from the start. We chose to do the standard menu which is what they have on their regular food truck menu for the season. There was an option to work with them to customize the menu if we wanted. Our guests have raved about the food since the wedding! Many went up for multiple orders despite the portions being huge because they wanted to try everything! The favorites from the guests are the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich and the Birria Tacos. I personally love their burrito and the thick cut fries. We did have a second food option but Hungry Nomads was definitely capable of feeding our whole reception (130 guests). I cannot wait to find Hungry Nomads out and about at other events so I can continue to enjoy their food! We can’t thank them enough for being part of our wedding day team and helping to make the day perfect!“

“Most don't realize that anyone can eat here. This is a true gem of a cafeteria in the basement of the BU Med student bldg. They serve incredibly great fresh Falafel based dishes and other Mediterranean faire including several vegan options. Absolutely scrumptious. They have a grill with standard various types of burger & fries including delicious vegan burgers. They usually have a variety of fresh soups that includes at least a vegan option. Huge selection of cold drinks in an extensive fridge wall. Anyone can eat here while they are open, but it seems mostly only BMC or BU staff and students are present. Their prices are incredibly affordable and a great value for large satisfying portions.“

The staff, a team of 4, arrived in plenty of time to set things up, decorate, prep the passed appetizers, organize beverages, and get ready. Once guests arrived (a larger group for a reception, then dinner for family), the team welcomed guests, served drinks, passed several tasty hors d’oeuvres, cleaned up, and contributed to the overall festivities. And then they served a delicious dinner for the smaller group. Everyone was super professional, helpful, and a pleasure to work with. They also did a great job cleaning/packing up. They made it easy for us to enjoy a special celebration!“
