50 Best Cafes near Medfield

“I grew up in the area and have lived abroad—mostly in Europe—for the past 15 years. Over that time, I’ve become very aware of the differences in ingredients and food quality between Europe and the U.S. When I come back each year to visit family, I often find that a lot of American food leaves me feeling bloated and uncomfortable, likely due to additives, dyes, and lower-quality ingredients that I’m no longer used to.

Blue Moon Bagel Cafe is the one wonderful exception.

I’ve been coming here since high school, and it’s the place I genuinely look forward to eating when I’m back in town. I truly trust their ingredients: the food tastes fresh, clean, and well made, and it doesn’t leave me with that heavy, uncomfortable feeling I get elsewhere. The sandwiches are delicious, everything feels thoughtfully prepared, and the staff is consistently friendly and welcoming. Prices are also quite reasonable for the area, especially considering current inflation in the US.

I’ll admit that some of the desserts are total sugar bombs—but that’s probably just my now very European palate talking! For those who love a sweet treat, they’re clearly doing something right.

All in all, Blue Moon Bagel Cafe is a real gem in Medfield. I’m grateful it’s still here and always make a point to visit when I’m back about once a year. Thank you for staying true to quality and consistency all these years.“

“I dont know what kind of dark magic they use, but their dairy and gluten free pumpkin pie is delightful! Even my picky eater kid ate two whole slices. I go at least once a month and stock up on treats which I then freeze to have on hand and its so worth the money and the drive. Thank you, Twist, for having gluten and dairy free treats that are actually good.“

“This was my first time and I had a very good experience. From the minute I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile. This is very important to set the tone for any business.

I ordered a toasted everything bagel with lox spread and veggies. The bagel was fresh and tasty. The tomatoes actually tasted like fresh tomatoes! The fact that this stands out speaks to other businesses that may not use as fresh ingredients.

The lox spread has a nice texture and is subtly flavored. I would recommend that if you want a strong lox taste to also order their smoked salmon.

I also ordered a large iced coffee. The coffee was delicious and the large was gigantic, which made me very happy.

Accessibility: the staff is very attentive and quickly activated their ramp for customers needing special assistance.

The prices are also very good. I will definitely come back.“

“The coffee ☕ is amazing. I had the Pumpkin Cloud Latte w/ almond milk and it was well worth it. I accompanied the latte with the Croffles + Ice cream and it was sinfully good. It was the perfect portion size and the texture of the croissant waffle was unlike any dessert I've ever had. 100% worth it! Not to mention that the great tasting food was accompanied by excellent service.“

“Popular cafe, we sat outside by the road which was fine as the traffic is quite. Lots of food/snack/drink options, clean toilets.
I note their sign about not supporting the proposed 2 lane road and removing the on street parking - I couldn’t agree more, the (very nice) atmosphere driving through Needham would be ruined by this proposal and I hope it fails.“

“A couple of Fridays ago, on the morning of the Friends of Saint Patrick’s event, I had breakfast with a couple of friends in Walpole. “I went in for the first time today after looking for a good, healthy alternative to chain lunch spots like sweetgreen and cava. Mike was nice, helpful, and very knowledgeable. I ordered the creamsicle, which is vanilla protein and mango. The tea was Chai with clementine aloe. I asked Mike what flavor aloe would go well with chai (I first thought none of the flavors would pair well with chai) and he said he prefers clementine, or I could go with mango. He also said he likes the hot version over the iced, so I went with that, and was happy I went with Mike's suggestions. I felt full 3/4 of the way drinking my smoothie, so I know I will be full for a few hours. It is a good full feeling, not overly full or heavy. Also, the tea provided me with some much needed energy. Reasonable prices, especially when you compare to other lunch spots. I will definitely be going back to Heart City Health Cafe for sure! This is a great, healthy lunch option, so I am happy I came across it!“

“I order about 4x/wk from Tatte. I love it BUT lately: A salmon sandwich was drowning in sauce, having to scrape it off and dispose of bread; a Turkey Blat had so much mayo I could not taste the turkey, and an egg order was made wrong.“

I just had my mother’s retirement party and I catered it all from Taso’s and everyone could NOT stop raving about the food . The food makes a party and Taso’s made the event perfect!! But if I am being honest, the REAL reason I love Taso’s is because Kristina made my son feel at ease. She took extra time with him, on his first visit there . Daniel gave it a 10/10 rating!!! “Wonderful neighborhood breakfast and lunch spot. Family-friendly with terrific food and just as good service. Excellent egg and omelette options, french toast, and other breakfast options. My sleeper lunch recommendations are the buffalo chicken sandwich and turkey burger (always with steak fries). Also plenty of greek cuisine on the menu.“

“I had an event this weekend for 50 people and James’ catered the food. It was a brunch, that included pastries, muffins, fruit, sandwiches, and quiches. The food was outstanding!!!!! James helped me plan the menu, he was accommodating, and everything was exactly as promised. The cost was extremely reasonable. My daughter had a spicy pasta with a pink sauce, bacon and some vegetables, which was succulent, and I had a lovely salad with grilled chicken. We were too full for dessert. While we did have a reservation, so we didn't wait at all, I think most of the time walk-ins are welcome because this is a café within a department store so people don't stay for very long.“

Everyone loved the cake! I ordered a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. The cake was so moist. One of the best cakes we’ve ordered. The design was exactly what I was looking for. “I'll be honest, we almost didn't come here because I usually follow the wisdom of crowds and when I saw the 4.1 rating I thought we might pass on visiting. I'm glad we came, it was a five star experience for me... The quality of the morning bun and tasty seasonal black sesame latte I had were very high and we'll definitely come back (at least to another location). It was a little bit noisy and it seems like the lines could swell during busy times but that doesn't take away from the overall rating for me.“

“I have been going to Bagels Best since I was a kid with my grandfather every morning after I slept over. They have had the best bagels by a long shot and I have traveled across the state to get their bagels, breakfast bagel, and smoked salmon which is spectacular! Such great food in a great establishment run by amazing people who care about their customers. Highly recommended!!“

Most of booths had one person camped in a four person booth, there all day with outside food and beverages. (And a messy/dirty)

This is inside Legacy Place - parking was busy in the afternoon/evening. Noisy, but not too loud. I was still able to take a casual phone call without the listener having too much background noise. There is a workspace/conference room you can also rent out by the hour. They're open fairly late compared to other cafes in the area (8pm), so that was appreciated.“

“Although part of a global chain, Caffè Nero did a nice job of capturing the distinct history of this Wellesley Hills station designed by architect H.H. Richardson. The building was completed in 1886, and after the station was decommissioned the space was various retail outlets until Nero took over in 2016.

And the food and drink? Relative to other bakeries and coffee shops in Wellesley (there are a lot!) the coffee is good, and the baked goods are workmanlike. An added plus is the large parking lot for the train next door, free on weekends.

I really like the old photos showing the building and interior spaces on the walls. It’s fun to compare “then and now” while you sip a coffee.

“After a few disappointing experiences at other Nespresso stores, especially one at Prudential, I became hesitant to visit any in person and stuck to online orders. However, one day I desperately needed coffee and decided to try a new location—though I’ll admit, it was a bit challenging to find, nestled inside Bloomingdale’s.

Despite the small size of the store, I was pleasantly surprised by how well-stocked it was with all the new flavors and everything I could possibly need. What really stood out, though, was the exceptional service. Marylin, who greeted me with warmth and professionalism. She took the time to listen to my preferences and brew me a cup of any pod of my choice. I was debating on two flavors and she brewed them both!
