“My girls and I attempted to eat at the Salem retreat on our first morning of our trip. We waited 20 minutes for a table after watching 7-10 people be seat AFTER we were given a buzzer to wait. We left and came to Dotty & Rays. We got a table as soon as we walked in, had water brought over immediately, drink and food orders promptly taken. The food was fantastic. We had one part of our order missing and once they realized the issue, it was remedied with speed and courtesy. Everyone was very friendly and renewed our experience in Salem. “We stumbled upon Half & Half while searching for a place to get breakfast and stopped in with our 2 yo. Very cute interior with a friendly staff and delicious food. My wife absolutely loved her avocado toast with eggs and my breakfast sandwich was perfectly grilled. We ordered chocolate chip pancakes for our son who also chomped on my home fries and fresh fruit from my wife’s plate. The person who waited on us (the owner?) was exceptionally friendly and stopped off to talk through all of the various types of butter on the table (no, seriously, like four different kinds and all equally amazing!). We will definitely be back for lunch — and more butter.“

“Last night I had the pleasure of visiting Volo Craft Pizza in Swampscott, MA — and wow, what an experience! 🌊🍕 The ambiance right by the water is beautiful, with Boston’s skyline in the distance, and the service made us feel right at home. Owners Pina and Tony are so warm and personable — it truly feels like family when you’re there. Now, the food… absolutely incredible. Having grown up with New York City parents (and with my own background working in a pizza restaurant), I know good pizza when I taste it — and this was next-level. Their Detroit-style Double Trouble pizza with hot honey was out of this world. 🍯🔥 The Caesar salad with fresh-grated cheese was crisp and flavorful, and don’t even get me started on the cannolis with chocolate chips and lemon — pure heaven. 🍋🍫 I’d happily drive 35 minutes any day for this. “It is so wonderful to hear that the Agawam Diner is still in business. I grew up in Portsmouth, NH and from 1975?-1989, my mother had to take me for a periodic checkup to an allergy physician in Danvers and most every time on the way back home we would stop at the diner to have something to eat. I am now 55 and living in Florida, but I will never my several visits to the Agawam Diner. For those that haven't eaten there yet, do yourself a favor and stop in. You will not be disappointed“

The food was delicious and full of flavor. Being Wednesday night, the noise level was very low and so enjoyable. Our only complaint was that we ate too much to be able to have dessert--our fault!!“

“I am a huge fan of key lime pie and have sampled it at pretty much every opportunity. Each time, I find something that isn’t an A+. The crust is too grainy or crumbly, the bakery has added meringue (which I like on lemon but not lime), or—and this is the most common offender—there is entirely too much lime in the recipe. But the key lime pie I had at Caramel was exceptional in every possible way, especially in its balance of lime flavor. I didn’t try anything else there, so I can’t vouch for the macarons or other goodies, but if you love key lime pie, RUN to this bakery!“

“Update 22 Mar 2026: Another awesome meal and this time we enjoyed it with our friends.We are huge fans of this restaurant. Unfortunately, the waitlist timer is still way off, which makes planning to get there on time a bit challenging. The first time, I joined the wait list, it showed 30-60 min but our table was ready in 10 min or so. the next time, it showed 30-60 min but our table was not ready within that time frame.

June 2025:
Since we discovered this restaurant last month we have already eaten here twice. The food, the atmosphere, the seating is so amazing and so authentically Japanese. We loved the ramen, takoyaki and pop corn chicken. Make sure to reserve in advance as they get busy even on a working Tuesday..“

The food was outstanding. I started with the beef stew. it was excellent. It was not to salty, you could tell it was homemade the flavor brought me back to childhood. My wife started with the chicken and rice soup which she said was also fantastic, once again not to salty. I had the hot turkey sandwich with gravy. The gravy was outstanding. My wife had the teriyaki chicken stir-fry which was delicious. We needed the meal by brining home 6 raisin oatmeal cookies. I would highly recommend North Ave. Diner if you are in the area.“
