“The food was very good and the prices very reasonable. We had a nice small room for a 40th birthday party.. Hostess and someone answering the phones were sooo accommodating…..However the service was good but the comments from our server, Stephanie were definitely uncalled for. I was asked what I wanted to drink and explained what was in it, so it wouldn’t come out wrong…. I was told I was particular!?! Then my son asked a question and she said to him, “Didn’t you hear me tell the other end of the table the same thing”!?!? Then I held my hand out so that I could take the bill and not let my daughter, the birthday girl pay, and she said “well aren’t you bossy” !!! SERIOUSLY SO uncalled for. And I even tipped her more than 20% because we got everything in a timely manner.“

“We stumbled upon Half & Half while searching for a place to get breakfast and stopped in with our 2 yo. Very cute interior with a friendly staff and delicious food. My wife absolutely loved her avocado toast with eggs and my breakfast sandwich was perfectly grilled. We ordered chocolate chip pancakes for our son who also chomped on my home fries and fresh fruit from my wife’s plate. The person who waited on us (the owner?) was exceptionally friendly and stopped off to talk through all of the various types of butter on the table (no, seriously, like four different kinds and all equally amazing!). We will definitely be back for lunch — and more butter.“

“This place has the best coffee in town. Their breakfast sandwiches are to die for. Lunch menu is just as good. Cookies, scones and muffins are all delicious. The owners Peter and Siri bend over backwards to please their customers. The register and serving crew Lisa and Isabel are great.“

“We had a delightful birthday dinner with family last night. Our server couldn't have been nicer--waiting to time things to our pace of conversation and needs. The food was delicious and full of flavor. Being Wednesday night, the noise level was very low and so enjoyable. Our only complaint was that we ate too much to be able to have dessert--our fault!!“

“We consider ourselves foodies and ordered take out last week and the food was delicious! In addition the staff was super friendly and gave some great advice on what to order. Great portion sizes. “First time, to go order. Ready on the spot, properly prepared gluten free pie, exactly as ordered, and very tasty. Saw other reviews stating best GF crust in the area, and it's definitely a solid contender for a traditional style pie for an out-of-towner. That it's substantially larger (by roughly 20%) than a normal GF pizza anywhere else helps, too. Will visit again.“

“Our party of 14 had the wonderful opportunity for the private room Sunday June 5th. The 50th anniversary party was treated royally by Ron and Sharon. “Update 22 Mar 2026: Another awesome meal and this time we enjoyed it with our friends.We are huge fans of this restaurant. Unfortunately, the waitlist timer is still way off, which makes planning to get there on time a bit challenging. The first time, I joined the wait list, it showed 30-60 min but our table was ready in 10 min or so. the next time, it showed 30-60 min but our table was not ready within that time frame.
June 2025:
Since we discovered this restaurant last month we have already eaten here twice. The food, the atmosphere, the seating is so amazing and so authentically Japanese. We loved the ramen, takoyaki and pop corn chicken. Make sure to reserve in advance as they get busy even on a working Tuesday..“

“My wife and I were in Wakefield to purchase car and when we were finished we realized we had not eaten all day. We found this gem of a diner. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding. I started with the beef stew. it was excellent. It was not to salty, you could tell it was homemade the flavor brought me back to childhood. My wife started with the chicken and rice soup which she said was also fantastic, once again not to salty. I had the hot turkey sandwich with gravy. The gravy was outstanding. My wife had the teriyaki chicken stir-fry which was delicious. We needed the meal by brining home 6 raisin oatmeal cookies. I would highly recommend North Ave. Diner if you are in the area.“

“Excellent food and service. Worth the price in my opinion. Noise level an issue, had to practically shout at the other folks at our intimate table for 4. Also the restaurant struggled with temperature control....granted it was super cold out but all of us at the table were cold inside the restaurant. Overall, I'd definitely go back as the food was outstanding and I've already decided what I'd order next!“

“This was hands down the best food ive ever had in my life. The chef must be the happiest person in the world, because all the food was cooked with pure love lol. “It was our first time at Mario’s on Saturday and you all did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, the place was warm and festive. Christmas music was playing. Our appetizers were so good. The wedding soup was perfect! My husband had the meatballs with pasta and he loved it. The cannoli’s were delicious. Our server, David, was personable and fun. He knew the menu very well. We definitely will be back!“
