“My girls and I attempted to eat at the Salem retreat on our first morning of our trip. We waited 20 minutes for a table after watching 7-10 people be seat AFTER we were given a buzzer to wait. We left and came to Dotty & Rays. We got a table as soon as we walked in, had water brought over immediately, drink and food orders promptly taken. The food was fantastic. We had one part of our order missing and once they realized the issue, it was remedied with speed and courtesy. Everyone was very friendly and renewed our experience in Salem. We enjoyed it some much we came back this morning. This is the place to come to a good meal and pleasant experience to start your day. Come to Dotty and Rays!“

“I am a huge fan of key lime pie and have sampled it at pretty much every opportunity. Each time, I find something that isn’t an A+. The crust is too grainy or crumbly, the bakery has added meringue (which I like on lemon but not lime), or—and this is the most common offender—there is entirely too much lime in the recipe. But the key lime pie I had at Caramel was exceptional in every possible way, especially in its balance of lime flavor. I didn’t try anything else there, so I can’t vouch for the macarons or other goodies, but if you love key lime pie, RUN to this bakery!“

“I used this place for lunch on a weekday. My husband and I enjoyed raw oysters, pizza, and tacos. We tried three different kinds of raw oysters, and all of them were fresh, flavorful, and excellent.

There was a mistake with the bill, but when we asked them to check it, the staff responded right away, so I rated the service a 5.

Being able to enjoy delicious food while looking out at the ocean made it a great memory. I think the atmosphere would feel different again in the evening or at night.“

We especially loved the oyster appetizer special—everything else was great as well, with the exception of the duck special, which was much too sweet for our taste. “We were a few days late for Halloween in Salem so we decided to stop in at Longboards for a quick bite. Their flatbread pizza is excellent and the full service bar has it all. Friendly service and great food on the water at Pickering Wharf in Salem. We had lots of fun playing music trivia at the bar! Highly recommended.“

“My fiancé and I were craving oxtail and decided to order from this Jamaican restaurant—and let me just say, the food did not disappoint! The oxtail was tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Everything we tried was seasoned so well and packed with flavor.

I forgot to grab the chef’s name, but whoever was behind the food that night deserves a big shoutout. You can tell there’s real love and skill going into the cooking here. We’ll definitely be ordering again—highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic, delicious Jamaican food! “Kokeshi is in residency with Bambolina (a wood-fired pizza joint, also delicious) and it's perfect! My husband and I (and our puppy, Dexter) stopped in for lunch on Wednesday and were treated to a wonderful meal with an awesome server and comfortable outdoor seating. I had the Spicy White Kimchi Ramen and my husband had the Margherita pizza. Both were amazing! I highly recommend stopping in when in Salem!“

“Burger are great. Ordered wings from Uber Eats and the picture looked like a much bigger portion size and was kinda pricy. The food was delicious, just a bit disappointed with the size. Would recommend adjusting the picture to match reality or increasing the portion sizes.“

“I cannot say enough good things about Antique Table. The food is amazing, and service is fabulous. Great atmosphere both indoors and outdoors, and tons of food & beverage options. There are so many dining choices in Salem, and we return here time after time. Classic Italian with some interesting additions mixed in, like the Chicken Miguel. The eggplant rollatini is the best I’ve ever had. Large portions and reasonable pricing. Generous pours on cocktails. Even in October, when the city is incredibly busy, the food and service remain top notch.“

I bristled at this and took it as an insult, and that was a mistake, my friends. This was easily one of the spiciest things I've ever had in my life. While I ate it all, my mouth was involuntarily salivating for an hour after and my nose just would stop running. I legit cried and apologized to the server for my hubris. Please keep in mind, it was absolutely delicious, and it was a generous portion size.“
