“my 2 friends and I went to Strawberry Fair restaurant yesterday. one friend we hadn't seen in years. we've known each other since we were 12. our hostess and waitress were excellent. we stayed over 2 hours reminiscing. Then when we tried to take a selfie before we left and our waitress came outside and offered to take the picture. it came out great!! I highly recommend this restaurant.The food was delicious!!! “The hubby wanted to take me to lunch for my upcoming birthday..for our age and for our wallet we always go to lunch vs dinner...we are now already home with the pups in our jammies..so great...now as a self proclaimed foodie, I have wanted to try the food at Alma Nove at the Hingham Shipyard for many years...I am also a huge Wahlbergers show fan...adored their mom Alma on the show and her pal Phyllis...the show is so much fun..binge it if you haven't seen it..anyway...the weather today didn't look too spectacular for a waterfront restaurant but the blue skies showed themselves as we were eating inside...such a terrific location..the shipyard has been revitalized in the last 15 years or so...lots of shopping and dining destinations including the original Wahlbergers Burger Joint...I love this stuff...Dave is like ok whatever...but our experience was lovely..I will say however that my husband and I don't quite fit in the Hingham vibe...and it has a vibe..no shade but it kind of carries an air about it...the people I mean...lol...but we ignored all that and for sure enjoyed lunch..even Dave said how delicious it all was...our server...nice..we typically enjoy banter with our servers...he wasn't about that...all business and he gave us excellent service..but I do have the sense that more than likely the staff has high hopes of gaining maybe a walk on role on Blood Bloods with Donnie or maybe a handshake from Marky Mark when he comes through from time to time...hope for them it happens..fingers crossed...😉..about the food...great bread..seemed homemade but simple..fresh..served with butter that had black specks on it..turns out it was a black salt..interesting..a few drafts for Dave from Mayflower Brewery in nearby Plymouth and I had a lovely Pinot Noir...bottled water on the table..big fan of that..I ordered the Pan Seared Shrimp and Scallops served over a sweet potato risotto , topped with haricot verts(fancy greenbeans), toasted marcona almonds and truffle honey and my date had the Butternut squash Tortellacci with pan seared chicken topped with sage brown butter sauce, pecorino romano, apple cider gastrique and fried sage and chives..wow..we are styling here in the Shipyard...every bite was spot on and a perfect serving for lunch..we enjoyed all of it..dessert..well.of course..they have an in house pastry chef so that's a given for me..chose the Banana Bourbon Bread Pudding..when he returned he also brought a small chocolate dessert..like cake in a jar with whipped cream and a candle...he said they heard someone was celebrating a bday...we never said it so all I can figure is I posted that we were there for my bday and had tagged the restaurant...great social media connection if that was the case...we shared them and they were fabulous...took some photos around the place..ran into folks the hubby knew from Hull..absolutely highly recommend Alma Nove..those that aren't familiar with the background. ..The famous Wahlberg Brothers Donnie and Mark have a brother Paul who is the chef and owner of Alma Nove..named for their precious mom Alma and Nove in Italian means nine..there were 9 Walhberg kids..5 stars from me for Alma Nove.. Open daily for lunch and dinner. .I believe they have live music on Sundays and in the nice weather their outside patio overlooks Hingham Bay...a must try❤️ Mark has famously said their brother Paul is the most talented in the family...I believe that is spot on...“

“A cozy, small restaurant tucked away within downtown Cohasset. I especially wanted to give an enormous shoutout to the extremely generous jumbo lobster sandwich that they sold during this time. It was expensive, as expected, but it did not disappoint in terms of its mass. It was huge, delicious and presentable.

The atmosphere is, as I stated before, cozy, and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. It was definitely more on the quieter side--which I preferred that day--though that may depend on the time and season when you visit.

If you're walking or driving around town, I strongly recommend stopping by here, as it is an easy 5-stars for me.“

“We LOVE Island Creek Oysters!! They are truly the best oysters in the country. We’re picky, self-proclaimed oyster aficionados, and these never, ever disappoint. We have them shipped to our house about once a month, and we recently visited the farm in person. Fabulous! The tour was excellent and informative, and we even got to enjoy beautiful oysters right in Duxbury Bay. An incredible experience all around!“

“We had a wonderful time at Barrell Z House this past Saturday. Our bartender, dressed in Germany garb for Oktoberfest, was so friendly and helpful. We had our little dog Ella with us and was made to feel welcome. Our bartender even brought us a fresh bowl of water for her. We got some delicious sirloin sliders for us and doggie biscuits with PB for Ella from the food truck. My husband and I enjoyed the IPA. We tasted two different types, one more fruity and aroma, the other more hoppy. We’re hop heads and both agreed that the more hoppy one was our fav! They have a nice, shady outdoor area with Adirondack chairs, a great space to soak up the beer and sunshine these early fall days.“

“We ordered takeout and it was great! Burgers & Fries and a Chicken Ceaser Wrap. Burgers were delicious, especially the Chipotle Burger with jalapeños and spicy sauce. The Ceaser Wrap was fresh and had the right amount of chicken to lettuce, with a nice creamy dressing. Got a side of extra crispy fries and they were just right. Would definitely recommend this place and would order again when in the area. “I found this lovely lady at the Hanover Farmers Market. Let me tell you…Holy moly!! I consider myself a chocolate chip cookie connoisseur and these were the best #1 cookie in my book ever!!! My 14yo also agreed and wanted to go back for more!! So soft and a perfect amount of chocolate chips in the middle but the outside wasn’t crispy but had a perfect bite to it. I will never make or buy a cookie anywhere else. They just won’t compare!“

“I had a salad, and my daughter had a burger and fries. I feel like you can't really mess up a salad, but you can mess up fries. That's what happened to my daughter's meal.

We ordered for pickup and when it was time to eat. My toddler struggled to eat the fries, they were so overcooked and hard for her to chew.

Everything else was good, though. I just assumed we caught the line cooks on a bad day. But... Who knows?“

“After doing a lot of work around the house on Saturday we all decided to go out for dinner. Decided to try Liv. This was our first time trying the restaurant. Basically, food was good. Cocktails need work. Atmosphere was nice. Service was great.
We ordered the charcuterie board as we sat down. Good but it was a bit on the pricey side for what we got.
Drinks were subpar. Coconut margarita was ALL lime juice and just a hint of coconut and couldn’t taste the tequila. The pride day drink special was missing something which we couldn’t put our finger on.
For dinner we ordered fish and chips. Good except the fish was thin and dry. Fries were good.
The buffalo spaghetti squash Mac and cheese tasted good but presented as a plate of orangey brown pile of slop. We took most of it home. Yesterday I put it in a pie crust, mixed in a simple egg custard, covered it with cheese and baked it. It turned out delicious!! My suggestion would be to work on the presentation of this dish. Serve it in a crock or bowl with melted cheese on top or in a simple pie crust. The last thing we ordered was the veggie wrap. It was simple but delicious.
Will we return? Of course. We will try it again.“

“I’ll start with the positives: the food was excellent, the drinks and views were awesome, and even the wait wasn’t bad since the chairs were comfortable and you could grab a drink while waiting. That said, this is definitely not the best spot for a relaxing Saturday date night. There were so many unsupervised kids running wild that it completely killed the vibe. Three separate groups let their kids kick and throw dirt until they broke the landscape lights. Another child (maybe 5) spent nearly an hour standing knee-deep in the pond in her sneakers, again with zero supervision. I don’t mind kids being kids, but when they’re totally unsupervised and destroying property while parents just zone out, it’s a whole different level. Add to that kids jumping all over the dock, it was pure chaos.“

“My wife and I visited Square Cafe in Hingham last night and we had an awesome dinner! I can't say enough good things about this place. Probably one of THE BEST meals I've had in a long time when dining out. The food...all of it....our appetizers, entrees and dessert was outstanding! Our waiter Jamis was the best! “Wicked Good Food! It’s the first time ordering from here. I’m always skeptical of 1st tries because I’m VERY picky about pizza. I got a small veggie pizza and it was awesome! Their sauce is good and they’re super generous with the toppings and cheese! Also tried the buffalo tenders, omg…wicked good! “Somewhere Else Tavern along Rte. 127 in Bryantville/Pembroke, Mass. I must say I've been at the building, since 2009 (15 years) when it was "Old School". It was a building then, a bar/restaurant of sorts, but now it is someplace special. Since Lori and Jayson, who also own the "Fork in the Road" delicatessen in Bryantville and the Olde Hitching Post restaurant in Hanson, took over the restaurant and renamed it, it is now a place for excellent food, beverages, and a wonderful, wonderful group of people, their patrons. What makes Somewhere Else truly special is that on almost every night, Jayson, Lori, or Lori's sister, Lee Ann, will be there taking care of their customers..... their friends. This past Sunday, was Lori's birthday and EVERYONE was included to celebrate her birthday, Chinese food (seemingly Lori's favorite), cake and ice cream shared with all.
